Chapter 60: Sparkes and Blood In the Blood
"Look," Martin said, "I can make a nice boom and blow up all kinds of dirt from that hole, but no one is going to be in it when I do."
Myrna smiled brightly at him.
"I'm sure you can do it safely," she said as if she hadn't heard a thing he said.
"No one is in the hole when the charges go off," Martin said.
Myrna stopped smiling. She pulled out the radio that she had at her belt.
"Hi, Bill," she said, "I've got a teensy problem with the shoot here. The pyro guy won't let me do the shoot my way." Her jaw clenched as she listened to Bill on the other end. "I want him to blow the hole, then Winter climbs out of the dust cloud." There was more squawking from the radio. She was glaring at Martin now. "He wants to talk to you."
"Martin."
"Don't under any circumstances allow that girl to talk you into anything dangerous. You figure it out. I don't want to come out and shoot that scene myself."
"What did he say?" Myrna said.
