40 Chapter 40
[Third Person's PoV]
Futarou and the others entered a dungeon, and as Futarou stepped inside, he almost cried tears of sadness.
'Not another swamp! Why! I hate these places.'
Futarou then noticed something about his surroundings: it was different from the previous swamp he went to. The air had a type of toxicity to it, one that was low-level enough where it wouldn't affect him due to his high Vitality stat. He also noticed there were more trees and land compared to the previous one.
Futarou looked towards the others, "Careful, we're dealing with poisonous monsters this time, it seems."
Although the others were strong and had some type of immunity towards poison, he still felt it was better to be safe than sorry.
Futarou then looked towards Voltara and smirked, "It's your turn now, Voltara, Fuse with me."
Voltara grinned as she was very excited. She had heard about his ability to fuse with his spirits from Puck, Orion, and Paimon and was very excited to try it out herself. She even screamed out while doing so,
"FUUUUUUSSSSSIONNNNN HAAAA!"
Futarou's skin started to turn a sparky bright yellow color, his hair started to become spiked up while changing into a yellow color as well.
His clothes even started changing. Futarou at first appeared without clothes, only appearing as a being of energy. Futarou gained an open leather vest with spikes on his shoulders, with leather pants also adorned with spikes towards the side.
His shoes turned into heavy dark boots, while on his wrists, two spike bracelets appeared, and finally, a thunder cloud started appearing like a sash over his neck.
Futarou casually raised two devil's horns using his fingers and grinned, "Let's bring in the Thunder!"
Futarou then disappeared from where he stood, leaving a trail of lightning, and approached the closest monster he detected.
He quickly appraised it,

Futarou speed blitzed in front of the lower class dragon and with a large grin punched it in the head. Due to his glove's special effects, it sounded as thunder and lightning struck the ground before its head exploded into a multitude of pieces, raining blood everywhere.

Futarou danced around the raining blood, noticing its corrosive effects, before disappearing towards the next Drake.
Futarou surrounded Chastiefol with his lightning before chucking it and willing it to fly and rip through the multiple monsters.
Futarou heard the sound from his system as the numbers on his exp kept going up.
Futarou continued grinning as he shot towards the sky. He raised an arm and started waving it around, causing the sky to darken and black storm clouds to appear and rumble.
As they appeared, Futarou gained a type of enlightenment. He activated his Sharingan, focused all of his senses, and activated his Hypercognitive ability.
Once the thunder clouds finished forming and lightning started hitting the ground, Futarou started experimenting,
"Lightning is just the product of intense winds and heat from the friction it creates," Futarou muttered as he summoned the elements of Wind on one hand and the elements of fire on the other.
Futarou brought his hands close together and with the help of his SS+ Mana Manipulation started mixing the two elements together. Occasionally, sparks started appearing, the sparks started getting more frequent until all that was left was a ball of lightning slowly forming.
And as it did, Futarou heard two notifications,

Futarou let out a sigh while shaking his head, "I'm so freaking awesome."
Meanwhile, the others weren't just standing by while Futarou decided to study his magic.
They all started hunting down the drakes. This time, compared to before, Orion had an easier time hunting them down.
He would use the water from the dirty swamp and create multiple tentacles that would strangle the Drakes or imprison them in a large water sphere where they would drown.
With Tohru, the Drakes weren't able to even move or attack. Tohru had a type of bloodline oppression on them, making them stay rooted where they stood.
She didn't even transform into a dragon; she just rushed towards them and swung her fists and claws at them, obliterating them.
Puck created a meteor shower using his Earth and Fire Magic. He just sat in his beast form looking down at them coldly, growing uninterested in them.
The Drakes, of course, tried to attack, but against the force that was Futarou's summons, all they could do was hopelessly watch as they got slaughtered one by one.
As Futarou finished dealing with the monsters and noticed their numbers dwindling, he followed the sense of the strongest presence and streaked through the sky like lightning towards it.

Due to his high Agility stats and lightning-fast state, Futarou was too fast to track. He appeared underneath the enormous dragon and stabbed Chastiefol right where he sensed its beating heart.
"ROOOOOOOAAAAAARRRRRR" The Hydra roared in agony, swinging its limb towards Futarou.
Instead of being sent flying, Futarou caught it and was pushed back slightly, leaving Chastiefol lodged in its chest. Futarou then roared with a large grin and flipped the Hydra onto its back.
'It's still alive and kicking even after having its heart destroyed; I see why they don't go for the heart now.'
Futarou didn't let the Hydra regain its composure; he appeared and stood on top of Chastiefol, still embedded in its chest. Just as the Hydra opened its mouth to unleash a poisonous breath attack, Futarou looked at it teasingly.
"Voltara, give me all you've got!"
"Pika Pika, bitch!" Futarou exclaimed as his lightning traveled through Chastiefol and into the Hydra, shocking and paralyzing it.
Seeing that it wasn't doing much, Futarou upped the dosage, turning the lightning orange in color.
'As SpongeBob once said…' "More Power!"
Futarou's lightning slowly turned red; all the Hydra's scales started turning to ash, flowing away and exposing its muscles. Futarou saw the skin try to regenerate, but the lightning was much stronger than its regenerative abilities.
The muscles then started burning and peeling off, causing Futarou to insert his spear deeper until…

As he saw that, Futarou let out a sigh, feeling tired from constantly releasing lightning.
Just as he finished, the others completed their tasks as well, prompting Futarou to open his status screen.

Futarou then focused on the drops he had obtained: a pair of twin daggers, a skill book, a vial of purple liquid…
Futarou slightly pouted, 'This dragon was rather cheap, wasn't it… wait… I don't remember skill books dropping from monsters?'
The system answered his inquiries,
[They don't; it's only possible because of the host and the presence of the system; otherwise, such a notion would be impossible.]
[Also, please take notice that it's really rare for a monster to drop skill books for the host, even from boss monsters. The host is rather lucky.]
'I see…' Futarou appraised all the items.

He had detected 1,615 A-rank mana stones, causing Futarou to almost shed tears of joy, along with around 320 A-rank items.
"I say we're done here for today, right?" Tsunade asked as she casually walked towards them.
Futarou nodded before expressing his gratitude towards her. Tsunade smiled and shook her head before patting him on the head, even though Futarou was a bit taller than her now.
Futarou casually put his hands in his pockets before dumping all the mana stones and items he had collected from the previous dungeons.
He then handed Tsunade the space ring. "I hope you can sell everything here; I still don't have a hunter's license, so I'm unable to."
Tsunade nodded before looking at him in confusion. "Aren't you going to keep some items with you? They are pretty valuable."
'Ah, right, the hammer and boots.' After he was done, Futarou handed them back to her.
"That's all? There were some pretty interesting armors and weapons there."
"Nah, I don't need them. These aren't even for me; they're for my dad."
"So all you're getting is a pair of gloves and daggers? What about a new sword or something?" She asked with a raised brow.
"The only sword I'll ever need is Paimon, so I'm honestly good," Futarou said, patting Shusui.
Paimon then manifested from her metal vessel. "Awww! You're so adorable! You sure know how to move a woman's heart!" Paimon grabbed Futarou's face and started raining kisses all over his cheeks.
"That's enough," Futarou said, holding Paimon's head back. "You succubus." Futarou blushed. Paimon just giggled, finding his reactions adorable.
Just then, the portal started opening, bringing an end to his expedition…

After dropping Futarou off, Tsunade looked at him and said, "I'll be sending the money directly to your bank account, so be sure to look out for it," and with that, she drove away.
As Futarou entered, he shouted, "I've come bearing gifts!"
"So, how did it go?" Isanari asked with a smirk.
"It was cool. Here, old man, to keep your toes warm and a hammer," Futarou said, handing it to him.
With the items in hand, Isanari dropped down to his knees and broke down into tears. "I have such a filial son!"
"In all seriousness, thank you, Futarou," Isanari said softly. "I don't remember the last time I held a dungeon item. When I… spiraled… I had to sell all of my items just to keep us afloat, so it's nice being able to hold this," he explained with a sad look while caressing the handle of the hammer.
"Come on, old man, don't be getting all sentimental on me now," Futarou said, sighing.
Raiha then intervened. She had a miniature snake wrapped around her arm, resting her head on her shoulder, and a toy soldier on her other shoulder. "So, Onii-chan, what did you bring me?"
Futarou just smiled. "For you, I got you this…" Futarou reached into his pockets and pulled out Twilight Healing.
