29 Chapter 29

[Third Person's PoV] 

"You are seriously starting to become a pain in the ass," Tsunade said with a deadpan expression before walking off.

"Good thing this is your last test. The bad thing is, you did beyond good in all of them, which means I have failed since this test deals with Summoning... honestly, I'm not sure if we even need to do this test in the first place; your ability alone should score you first no matter what," Tsunade explained as they walked towards a door with a symbol of a magic circle and a silhouette of a floating cat lying on its stomach in the middle of the magic circle.

"Hey Puck, look, it's you," Futarou said teasingly.

Puck didn't reply, giving Futarou a deadpan look, causing Futarou to shrink back and apologize, "Sorry."

Puck just scoffed, and Tohru started to giggle, while Orion looked happy to be there by the way his tail was wagging.

"The Summoning test isn't really a test; it's more like a showcase. You show your summons, their powers, and whatever else you can do with them. Basically a performance that we judge and grade," Tsunade explained, leading them towards a room that was exactly the same as all the others: a plain white room. The only unique thing about it was the four mannequins lined up with targets on them, positioned at the very back of the room.

"You can begin any time you wish," Tsunade instructed.

Futarou nodded and put a hand on his chin, "Now who should I use first…" Futarou muttered.

Hearing this, Tohru immediately raised her hand in the air, waving excitedly, "OOH OH PICK ME, PICK ME!"

Futarou thought about it before sighing and patting her head, "Sorry Tohru, maybe another day. I want to use Puck; after all, he was the one I first made a contract with. If I'm going to show off, it has to be none other than him."

Tohru looked downcast, causing him to once again sigh. He kissed her forehead, "Like I said, maybe next time."

This instantly caused Tohru to recover her mood and smile contently before skipping away with Orion in her arms.

Puck looked at Futarou with a teasing look, "How have I been your first spirit but I still haven't even fused with you yet?"

"I guess we never really had an opportunity up till now. Ready?" Futarou replied, to which Puck nodded his head with a serious expression before closing his eyes.

Puck flew towards Futarou before disappearing inside of him. Futarou's shirt mysteriously disappeared as thick, silky silver fur started growing around Futarou's arms, and his hands started turning into claws.

The silver fur extended towards his shoulders, forming a large fur collar around his neck. Simultaneously, his hair started growing longer, becoming untamed like a lion's mane, reaching all the way towards his back, while also turning silver. The hair on his eyebrows started to grow long as well, becoming too long and disconnected from his face.

Futarou curled up slightly as he started to grow in size reaching approximately 2 meters, while fangs started to grow from his teeth and his eyes snapped open, showcasing his now bestial eyes that were blue and glowing with power.

Futarou couldn't help it; he looked towards the ceiling and let out a loud bestial roar filled with power and authority, "ROOOOOAAAAAARRRRRR!!!"

The room started to quake as Tsunade, Tohru, and Orion were thrown back due to the power of the roar and his aura, which became tangible.

Futarou's face took on a serious expression, looking towards one of his claws and saying, "What power." His own voice took him by surprise; it sounded heavy yet majestic, bestial but demanding respect.

Futarou disappeared from where he was standing and reappeared in the air before disappearing from there as well and reappearing elsewhere in the air.

He continued this teleportation pattern throughout the entire room, creating afterimages in different attacking positions. His movements generated strong winds, causing Tsunade's and Tohru's hair to ruffle wildly.

Futarou surrounded his claws with power before sending flying claw slashes towards the mannequins, causing them to erupt upon impact, despite being resilient to magic and physical damage.

As the flying claw attacks went through the mannequins and hit the wall behind them, more than half of the room was engulfed in ice. Futarou's breath became visible as steam slowly came out from the corners of his mouth.

Tsunade started shaking with cold, her arms and body covered with a thin layer of frost. A large grin appeared on her face as she witnessed this. "This monster… so this is the power of an SSS+ hunter."

Tohru's eyes narrowed as she examined everything with a serious look. "That power… even if I were to fight him seriously, with the intention to kill… I don't know if I'll win. It'll be a very close match, that's for sure, and entertaining no doubt."

Orion transformed back into his wolf form and immediately prostrated himself, bowing towards Futarou and Puck.

"What are you doing?" Tohru asked curiously.

"Sir Puck is a Great Spirit, which is a type of Royalty among the spirits. This is the first time I'm feeling his power, and it's amazing, so I'm showing him the proper respect he deserves," Orion explained, as Tohru nodded her head in understanding.

When Futarou finished showing off, he undid his transformation, causing his fur to retreat back and his shirt to return to its place, while he returned to his regular size.

Futarou smirked as he looked towards Tsunade, and Puck flew off his body. "So what do you think? Is that enough for me to win in this beauty pageant and get my title of Miss Japan?" Futarou teased as he ran his fingers through his messy hair.

Tsunade rolled her eyes and sighed. "I'm sure you'll receive high marks for your performance. And this shall mark the end of your examination. We will be sure to contact you in a month to send you your acceptance letter."

Futarou nodded. "So then when can I get my A rank dungeon?"

Tsunade grumbled, realizing she lost the bet she made with him previously. "It'll take approximately two weeks to set up and buy a proper Gate. Here, give me your phone number so I can contact you and let you know when," she said, presenting her phone to him.

Futarou nodded in understanding and entered his phone number before bowing his head in gratitude.

Tsunade smiled and patted his head while ruffling his hair. "Just get out of here already, kid, before you end up breaking anything else that would have to come out of my pockets."

Futarou smirked and walked away, with the others following close behind him, giggling and saying their goodbyes to Tsunade.

As Futarou exited the school building, he saw Erza patiently waiting for him. They fist-bumped.

"I failed," Futarou said depressingly.

"What!?" Erza said, completely shocked.

Futarou knocked the side of his head and stuck his tongue out to the side. "Kidding~"

Erza playfully pushed Futarou to the side. "Don't joke around like that; I thought you were serious."

Futarou giggled as they made their way home…
