Souls of the Damned

Many aeons ago, in a land filled with riches and abundance, where peace reigned unhindered by anything, lived a kind called A'Khina. The realm was painted with lush greenery, its meadows were filled with blooming colours, and its sun was just warm enough so everything could grow and thrive. Seasons changed, and a new ruler rose, determined to bring change into the realm and show her people that there was so much that they hadn't seen or experienced. She broke the sacred law that had kept her kind safe for such a long time and allowed for the very first entry into their realm to one other kind. One man from a realm filled with abundance brought with him sparkling stones and precious metals, which began to ornate the Queen's Palace and the homes of the A'khina. The man was a merchant, one of the lowest of his guild, and his name was N'gatarkan. Time passed, and the man was allowed entry once every season to bring in his precious stones in exchange for grains and food. He slowly began to earn their trust, and with each visit, he found out more about the realm, and the more found he began coveting the power that made that realm so special. Many seasons passed, and he began planning and scheming an uprise and taking the power that he wanted for himself, and with it, the demise of an entire kind began, and he became the first of his kind. Aeons passed once more, and peace reigned in the realm until one day, the power he had coveted for himself, others wanted it just like he did. And a silent war began between what they called the First One and the powerful entities that desired to wield that power. To save his people and himself, he returned to his roots and bargained his precious life and the power he held in exchange for the safety of his kind, the sithrians. Until one day, when a girl was born unlike any other of her kind, with her white hair and sparkling emerald green eyes that held the promise of change but also led to her kind's demise once more. And thus our story begins.....

Stupid mistake

Standing up, sheathing his sword walking to the pile of fruit that Tyla dropped on the floor, picking every single one of them up and the water pouch, he finally made his way back to the camp at a steady pace, with his eyes wide opened for anything unsual.

The camp quickly appeared in his view, closing his eyes he put his his kethar back to sleep.Having a better control over him and his emotions, he stil couldn't believe the power that his kethar held, all he could think of was how to use his power to slay the witch and the guardian, so they could return to their old lives and live in peace and quiet.

Seeing him approach Tyla and Iris stood up, their eyes filled with questions " It is done!" he uttered while halting his footsteps, lowering himself down to place the fruit on the ground.

Sylus opened his eyes, bearly holding on to his last shred of strength " Water!" he uttered in a spent voice while lifting his hand to grab the pouch from Ian.

Tyla snatched the pouch from Ian, giving him the water, lightly shaking Maya shoulder who slowly opened her eyes and opened her mouth for Tyla to give her the water.

Ian gave each of them a fruit, Sylus fed Maya first and then himself, while Tyla turned her attention to Rom that in the meantime had come back to his sense and gave him the water and a fruit to eat.

Dusk was starting to settle in while the people in the camp were still recovering feeling a little better, now that that they had finally eaten something, the colour in their cheeks started to slowly come back.

Ian in the meantime gathered some wood and made a fire to keep them warm, while pulling out blankets from their bags to cover them and himself and Iris, handing the last one to Tyla who looked a bit taken aback at the gesture but also because she would have to share it with Rom.

Ian smirked " You don't expect me to share a blanket with him?!" he said in an amused tone of voice while his gaze settled on Rom who frowned and looked between him and Tyla.

Tyla shook her head and sat down next to Rom, drapping the blanket over their shoulders feeling a little stiff that had to share a breathing space with someone that had met a few days ago.

Maya's eyes shined elbowing Sylus who grunted, making the others to shift their attention onto them, Sylus couldn't help but give them an awkward smile and looked at Maya with a questioning eyes, who just smiled and snuggled closer to him.

Ian pulled Iris into his lap, resting his chin on her shoulder staring at the fire, feeling Iris taking a deep breath, he lifted his head to hear speak " Now that you all feeling a little better, tomorrow morning we will bury our dead and return back home. You are free to take my offer and use the hut on the hill as your home for the time being or you can leave the forest. You have till morning to decide on what you want to do!" she gave the her final decision while her eyes roamed around to look at each of them.

They all nodded in agreement and finally laid down to rest, since they felt completely drained after all that has happened.

Rom and Tyla looked at each other not knowing what to do, seeing the other two couples laid on the groumd, they were the only ones that weren't a couple and it felt awkward sharing a blanket.

Seeing the puzzled look on Tyla's face " You can have the blanket, I'm used to the cold!" he offered while pulling the blanket off his shoulders shoving it into Tyla's arms who nodded and gave him a shy smile, trying not start an argument.

They both layed down on their back looking at the passing clouds and at the stars that sparkled in the dark moonless sky, keeping silent seeing that the others were already asleep, themselves drifted eventually as well to sleep.

Back in the cave Athan was pacing back and in forth in front of Rhya who sat on the throne, following Athan with her eyes as he paced in front of her, with a bored expression on her face. Seeing that Athan had been doing that since afternoon, she had asked him what was wrong but he had not said a word since then.

Rhya puffed her cheeks, feeling utterly bored and fed up with Athan's pacing, she got up from the throne, making her way to the back of the cave to pick up what she needed to wash herself.

Walking past Athan who didn't even notice her walking out of the cave as he was completely lost in his own world.

Rhya made her way to the pool in the forest, to have a bath and some alone time with herself since Athan was keeping himself busy and he wasn't proving himself to be a good company.

Looking up at the sky, Rhya frowned when she noticed that the sky had an unsual glimmer to it and warping like the waves in the ocean.

" That's strange!" she mumbled to herself while turning on her heels making her way back to the cave to speak with Athan about it.

Upon entering the cave, she found just as she left him, pacing back and forth, making her way to him, stopping in front of him " Have you looked at the sky?" she curiously asked him while frowning at him.

Athan nodded, swallowing the lump in his throat " I have! Something bad has happened, I can feel it in my bones!" he mumured desperately while he started to mumble words that Rhya couldn't quite understand.

Rhya scoffed " Is that why you've been like this since afternoon?" she questioned curiously while looking intently at Athan who looked worried like a mother hen.

Athan shook his head " Well, yes sort of.....you don't understand, she...is carrying Ian's child!Rhya, you need to keep this a secret, if he finds out, he will take her away and there is nothing that we can do!" he finally blurted out what was bothering him while Rhya just stared at him in complete shock.

She felt Athan grabbing her by her shoulders " Do you understand Rhya?" he asked while looking at Rhya waiting for answer.

Rhya finally blinked, coming to her senses " Athan, you can't hide something like that from them, they will find out and you're not very good at keeping secrets, you're a terrible liar! You need to tell them! For how long have you known?" she curiously asked while looking into his eyes with one eyebrow raised.

Athan let out a nervous chuckle " The day before you came back!" he sheepishly replied while looking guilty.

Rhya slapped him on the chest " How could let her go in the wolf den knowing that she is with child?" she scolded him while stomping on his foot in frustration.

" Ouch....Rhya!" he whined while jumping on one foot while holding the other.
