24 Chapter 22

Luciano's POV

Chaos.

That is such an understatement, such a way to describe the situation right now.

I just came back from dealing with Danish, a troublesome fallen angel. That piece of shit is such a pain in the ass to deal with. So many complaints and dissatisfaction!

Now, this. We are attacked. Sigh.

A big explosion on my right punch me out of my short reverie. Reflexively, I jump out of the way with my superhuman speed and steps near my sworn brothers.

Roughly, the enemy has around forty people that I can sense around. I grit my teeth. How many that I can't sense around?

Shit. This is bad. How did they found this place?

"How did they found our house?!" Zachary yells over the noise. Yeah, Zach. I wonder too.

I cast an illusion of us on the other side to distract them. They are human, so they are easily deceived.

"We have to get out of here." Isaac yells over the noise.

"I'm working on it." Kairo chant under his breath with concentration. "Zach, make a portal."

"On it." Zachary grunted.

A bigger explosion aimed our way cause the building to shake. Valentino make a barrier in time as another explosion came.

I glance at the human that creates explosion from his palms. It must be his Soulpower.

And there must be some of our kind if they could break out of my illusion.

This is more serious than I originally thought.

Supernatural kind like us is hidden from human society, treated as a myth. We live in the dark, and learn to blend in with human as our existences are frowned upon for them. Our ancestors from long, long time ago have once shown their true self to human and were wiped out of the earth by another group called hunter. They hunt supernatural species like us, because we are supposed to be a myth and they don't like changes.

But now, how can the human made alliance with our kind?

I send another glance towards the human, all wearing a black mask and black attire, a sort of weird symbol plastered on their skin that looks a lot like a gun and sword.

They are a fool if they thought they could mess with the Xenakis.

Our last name, Xenakis is actually a chosen surname, not our real surnames. Our family abandoned us as a child because we are an enigma and different from our usual kind. I was kicked out of heaven because a crime I didn't commit. That was all a total bullshit. I have a soulmark, and that means I have my other half that is destined just for me. I bet they are jealous, because creature like us are not gifted with a soulmate. Apparently, I was different.

But now, they and I are no longer different since she is gone.

A series of curses drawn me out of bad memories, "We are doomed. I couldn't make a portal. They must did something to block the portal system. Shit." Zachary said.

Kairo frown, "I could try cancelling their spell."

"Isaac, distract them," Isaac nodded as he turn and sing his hypnotic song that left the human in a trance. Valentino turn to look at Kairo, "How much time do you need?"

"Five minutes." Valentino then turn to the rest of us, "Gentlemen, liste—"

"They broke out of my hypnosis!" Isaac exclaimed.

"They must have a siren on their side too." Raphael looks at them, gold eyes guarded. "This is serious."

"It seems we have no other choice but to do what we are supposed to do in this kind of situation." Valentino goes on, still calm and collected despite the situation, something I'm not sure I could achieve, "We will not fight a fight we could not win." He gestures for us to put our palms on his arms, some on Ezra. He intend to teleport us. "So in this situation," When all of us have contact with his and Ezra's skin, he closes his eyes and take a deep breath, black mist that I couldn't pinpoint where it come from raise in the air in sync with his breath, as time passes by, they get thicker and darker, hiding us from sight, "We run." He open his glowing turquoise eyes and we vanish.

Third Person's POV

In a split second, the Xenakis family vanishes into thin air, as if they were never there before.

A man with blond hair and glowing purple eyes growl in frustration, "We lost them!" He turn to the man near him, grab him and pour his frustration into every punch and kick until he satisfied. All of other men around stand straight and silent, as if this is an ordinary thing, something that usually happens.

After a while, the man stop and waves his hand, "Take the corpses away. They smell."

Raphael's POV

We are suddenly in a black and purple themed living room, one that is familiar to me. We are in another of our house in the next country. Valentino and Ezra brought us quite far.

I feel quite useless because I could do nothing more than tear the enemies to pieces to help my brothers whenever in such situations.

I'm a lycan. One of the most oldest creature in the world. But I don't have magic or abilities like Kairo.

I shake my head, wishing those negative thoughts to go far away.

I sit myself on the near couch when I saw the others do the same.

"We will start our discussion." Valentino straighten himself, hands ran across his clothes to check for wrinkles, "Before that, anyone of you injure yourself?" He stares at every one of us for a moment to get our confirmation before he nods curtly. Turning to Zachary, he inquires, "What was the situation before?"

Zachary run his fingers through his ginger red hair, his eyes look troubled, "I don't quite sure myself. The portal system has something blocking it, preventing me from creating one." His British accent got thicker when anxiety grew, "There must be someone with quite excellent skills on their side to be able to do that."

I know Zachary hates not knowing something so he must be so frustrated now.

"Kairo?"

"What Zachary said is right. I am sure I could reverse the spell blocking the system earlier, but we don't have time to wait for me. The situation before is quite dangerous for us."

Valentino looks around for us. "Is there any of you that want to add something?"

Luciano looks up from the ground he stare in thought, "There is a symbol I don't recognise, of a gun and a sword on their skin."

Valentino nods, "Could you draw it on a paper so we could investigate further, Luciano?"

Luciano stands up to search for paper and pen as he nodded his agreement, "Of course, Valentino."

Valentino intertwine his fingers together, "As we all saw, they are with human during the attack earlier, working together to capture us. That means they made an agreement of sort and made an alliance. And the human Soulpowers are not something we can treat lightly."

The others nod, all faces serious and scrunched in thought.

"They have technologies too, something we lack in. Why don't we take a human as an ally too like they did? There's nothing better to fight them with than their own weapons." Daniel suggested.

"Yeah. We have to seek help from their own kind. Our kind and theirs are not on the same level. We have to find one with a powerful Soulpower too." I spoke.

"But for that to happen, we need someone we can trust." Ezra said. "Do you have someone in mind?"

Daniel bit his lip as he shakes his head in disappointment.

"I have heard one."

All heads turn to Isaac when he spoke up.

"Who?" Isaac looks at us with serious sea blue eyes.

"He is a known assassin, a force to be reckon with. His Soulpower—"

"An assassin? Are you kidding? We couldn't trust an assassin!" Ezra interjected.

Isaac shakes his head in disagreement. "Yes, he is an assassin, but if you look up all of his victims, all of them have tons of list of heavy crimes."

Luciano tap his feet on the floor, a habit he couldn't throw away, "So, he's like a righteous person? But that doesn't mean he's someone we could trust."

"Yes, but we don't have a choice here. He is the person with closest to perfect of criterias that we need." Isaac argued.

All of us nod acceptance. ".Isaac is right. We should try seek for help from him."

"Everyone are in agreement?"

All of us murmured a couple of 'yes' as Valentino glance around the living room.

"But who is this he that we all agree to work with?" Zachary asked with unmasked curiosity.

Isaac leans his back against the couch, "They called him Rio."

I hope this all will work out just fine.

Sorry guys, I was sick. (╥_╥) I'll try to update more and faster.

And, it seems there are some of you who are confused on what kind of species every one of them are and don't understand it. I'm sorry I didn't thought of this sooner but here you go :

Lycan

Lycan is the same type as werewolf but stronger and more powerful. The first creature created by moon goddess.

Vampire

I'm sure you know what they are, a creature that suck blood to stay healthy as a vampire. They are dead already, don't have a beating heart. They don't truly die(body turn to ashes) unless you rip their heart out, but if they miss their supposed intake of blood, they will go weak and fall in eternal sleep.

Fae

Fae are known for their otherworldly beautiful features. They can easily draw a portal, it is in their nature. They are also a creature close to nature(earth, flora fauna). There are two types of fae, light and dark fae. Zachary is a dark fae.

Fallen Angel

They originally were angels in heaven. But because of some violation of rules(or heavy crime), they were kicked down to earth. They become a type of demon.

Lucifer is the first and the most known fallen angel.

Demi God

Demigod is an offspring of a god and a human. They are, of course, inferior to gods, but certainly more powerful and superior to other creatures.

Incubus

Incubus is a type of a demon who live with depending on intimate exchanges with human. They are created especially to seduce human. They could still live with just touching the skin of human but barely.

Warlock

Warlock is technically the same type of creature as a witch, but a male one. They could create potion, cast spell like a witch. It is just that they are men. Witches are women.

Siren

Siren is another type of demon, a predator. They are creatures of the sea that sing to lure sailors, human on the land to kill in exchange for their chance of living on the land.
