144 Premonition

When Ruby woke up that morning, a sense of unease settled in the pit of her stomach. It felt as if the weight of an impending event hung heavy in the air.

She couldn't tell why, but she just knew she wasn't okay. Maybe it was because of the text she had received last night, and maybe she was probably expecting the blackmailer to ask for some money before the end of the day.

As the events of last night replayed in her mind. Her fear was somewhat overshadowed by a newfound sense of relief.

Confessing to Stefan when she did had not been easy, but his unwavering support last night had once again reminded her that she had made a good decision by coming clean with him and telling him everything.

Still lying in bed, she turned to Stefan's side and sighed when she found it empty. Where was he? She mused as she sat up and then she realized that the shower was running when it was suddenly turned off.
