After asking the house help to inform Nathan that she would be with him shortly, Kimberly shut the door and turned to face Melvin.

"I guess you miscalculated. You know? I was beginning to think they didn't care so much about you," Kimberly said playfully.

"Well, now you know you thought wrong. What are we going to do?" he asked worriedly.

"What's there to be done? It's not like I can send him away. I have to go there and chat with him until he leaves," Kimberly said easily, but Melvin shook his head.

"He is my friend. I need to be there too..."

"But you're having cramps, and I naturally wouldn't go greet your friends with you while I'm having cramps. I'm sure he is here only because Ruby told him about our conversation," Kimberly said, and Melvin shook his head.

"I still want to listen to him talk face to face. It's been a while since I saw him. You don't have to worry about the cramp. I can manage," Melvin said, and Kimberly shrugged.
