4 Chapter 4

Under the watchful gaze of children from the orphanage and a few others who had not yet gone home, Cai Wen began his walk towards the awakening platform.

Guo Qiang looked at him with anticipation in intense stare, which made Cai Wen feel a momentary fear as if he would be stripped bare by the old man before him. He quickly recovered and hoped that whatever he had seen was just his imagination.

Thankfully, his senses reassured him that he was safe, so he continued to the awakening platform and took a deep breath. He looked at the elder standing before him.

"I'm ready, sir" Cai Wen declared.

"Alright, then just like the others, close your eyes, clear your mind, and feel what is inside you," Guo Qiang instructed.

The last part sounded odd to Cai Wen's ears. Recalling the look he had received from the old man earlier, he quickly shook his head to erase the disturbing image.

Unaware of what was going on in Cai Wen's mind, Guo Qiang proceeded with the awakening process. He lowered his soul power to the six black orbs, causing them to shine with a golden light that enveloped Cai Wen.

The golden light began to enter Cai Wen, and he felt incredibly comfortable with the energy coursing through him. More golden light surged into him than any of the previous children before him.

Guo Qiang noticed this phenomenon and was filled with anticipation for the surprise Cai Wen might reveal.

The process was brief, and as more golden light entered Cai Wen, he suddenly felt something inside him break free. He opened his eyes as a pair of gloves flew out of his hands and hovered before him.

The gloves were reminiscent of Tsunayoshi Sawada's X gloves from the Reborn anime, but instead of an X or family crest on the back of the gloves, there was a dragon symbol.

"Hoho, gloves, huh? And with that dragon symbol, they should be powerful," Guo Qiang commented while observing Cai Wen's martial soul. He then took out the blue orb for measuring innate spirit.

"Come, let's measure your innate soul power," he said.

Cai Wen examined his martial soul and couldn't help but grin. 'Never expected it to be a gloves, I thought it would be some kind of beast spirit or some unusual spirit but this is also good'. He nodded and walked forward, placing his hands on the orb.

As he channeled his soul power, the orb began to shine brightly, its radiance surpassing that of the previous girl with an 7 rank innate soul power.

Guo Qiang looked shocked, his mouth gaping wide open. "In-Innate full... spirit power!" he exclaimed, drawing the attention of everyone in the room. His voice also reached those outside, causing them to gather around the doorway.

Cai Wen wasn't too surprised by this; he would have been more shocked if it hadn't happened given his many advantages. Still, he couldn't help but smile even more.

"Young man," Cai Wen heard Guo Qiang address him so he moved his eyes to him.

"What is your name?" Guo Qiang asked cautiously, not wanting to leave a negative impression.

"My name is Cai Wen, sir," he replied politely, maintaining eye contact with Guo Qiang.

Guo Qiang's eyes sparkled with excitement. "Cai Wen, with your talent, you're destined for great achievements. I can see that you have a bright future ahead of you in Spirit Hall."

Cai Wen nodded, comprehending Guo Qiang's implications, and replied humbly, "Thank you, sir. I will work diligently and strive for the best."

'Most people would likely join Shrek and become part of the main cast, but I have already made up my mind to join Spirit Hall. The original book only depicted the dark side of Spirit Hall and its misdeeds.

However, having lived in this city, the heart of Spirit Hall, for several years, I have witnessed its other nature firsthand. Compared to Heaven Dou and Star Luo Empires, many high-ranking members of Spirit Hall come from humble origins and have risen through their own abilities. As long as one has the talent, they will be treated well. They also treat the common people better' Cai Wen thoughts.

'The most important part, is that they maintain the balance and peace of the continent. They might be the one to start the war but honestly, I find it quite normal if either of the two other empires have the same resources and manpower, I don't believe that they won try to unify the continent' Cai Wen thoughts.

With that, Cai Wen and the other children left the room to return to the orphanage while Guo Qiang watched them depart.

As soon as they were out of sight, Guo Qiang hurried to report his findings to the Supreme Pontiff. He knew that Cai Wen's innate full spirit power would bring about another Title Douluo for Spirit Hall in the future.

As Guo Qiang made his way to the Supreme Pontiff's quarters, he couldn't help but feel excited about the role he played in discovering this extraordinary young talent. He knew that Cai Wen would bring honor to Spirit Hall, and he was eager to witness the heights the boy would achieve in the coming years.

Upon reaching the entrance, guarded by hundreds of palace guards, he bowed down and spoke respectfully, "Your Eminence, Supreme Pontiff, I have an urgent matter to report. Please grant me an audience."

After a few moments, a dignified and enchanting voice resonated from within the palace, "Enter."

Guo Qiang respectfully rose and walked inside, where he saw an incredibly beautiful woman who appeared to be in her twenties, yet was over forty. Her fair skin and perfect complexion gave her a noble aura.

She was dressed in black, gilt-lined luxurious robes, donning a nine-tipped purple-gold crown and holding a two-meter-long scepter adorned with countless precious stones.

This was the Supreme Pontiff, Bibi Dong. She sat on her throne, gazing down indifferently at Guo Qiang, who immediately knelt.

"What is this urgent news you bear, Guo Qiang?" Bibi Dong inquired casually, yet her tone carried immense authority.

"Yes, Your Eminence, this news would have reached you eventually, but earlier today, I pursued one of my hobbies, which is awakening the martial souls of children. One of the children I awakened possesses innate full spirit power, as we discovered upon inspection," Guo Qiang explained.

Bibi Dong, who had been listening quietly with a stoic expression, finally showed a reaction. After a few moments, she asked, "What is the child's background?"

"He has none, Your Eminence. He is merely an orphan," Guo Qiang replied.

"I see..." Bibi Dong murmured, which Guo Qiang heard. However, he remained silent, sensing that the Supreme Pontiff was deep in thought.

Bibi Dong tapped her armrest as she contemplated the arrangements she should make for the young one. After a few more moments, she instructed, "Bishop Guo Qiang, ensure that you bring the child here tomorrow. If there is nothing else to report, you may take your leave."

"Yes, Your Eminence, I shall not impose any further," he replied, bowing respectfully. Guo Qiang then turned and exited the palace, leaving Bibi Dong alone.

Once she was alone, a faint smile appeared on Bibi Dong's face, exuding a hint of coldness. "It seems the Spirit Hall has acquired a promising talent this time... I already have Nana as my disciple, but if this child demonstrates exceptional capabilities, then..."
