CHAPTER 16

Darkness.

A deep darkness.

In this darkness, I slowly became conscious. Everything was blury. Information and Experience of 3 lifetimes were wrapped within one another and were thrown at me for unwrapping.

I prioritized memories from my previous life on the earth. From the moment I was born, till the moment I slept on the night before the exam, I started experiencing my whole life again. Whatever I have remembered from deep inside the brain, everything surfaced.

It was my first birthday,  my mother was holding the camera, while my father was cutting the cake with me. The joy on their face was priceless.

When I was three year old, I was enrolled to the playgroup, where I met one of my best friend.

When I was five years old, I finally had a brother to play with.

Slowly, I grew up and it was 10th birthday. For my 10th birthday, my father gifted me my first book - Geronimo Stilton.

As I grew older, I started making new friends, enjoyed school life and read new books. From, the famous five, hardy boys, the three investigators to  Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Marvel Comics till Lord of the Rings and Dan Brown books, I have read all of them. Later, I started venturing into ebooks. That's how I found out about Soul Land aka Douluo Dalu. These 6 years of reading books brought the greatest enjoyment in my life.

The end of my orignal memories came nearer. "Goodnight, Sweetie" tears rolled down my cheek as I heard her voice for the last time. Remembering my father's joyful face and my brother's innocent face I made my goal to reunite with my family. Separated by life and death, we will reunite once again.

After completely absorbing the memories, I was still in shock and grief. The family that I treasured the most, was now broken. It wasn't that they were dead, no, it was because I had died. But how was still questionable. But one thing was clear that the douluo dalu game was somehow related to my death.

Next, it was time for Tang San's Ba Shu memories. As I started absorbing these memories, they clashed with my orignal memories. The result was the mutation of the memories. Sometimes the mutation could be positive, but sometimes it could be negative. But no matter the end result, (whether positive or negative) there was a price to pay for experiencing these memories - mutation of personality. If I were to completely absorb Tang San's memories,  I would no longer be the previous me, nor would my personality be as pure as Tang San. The resonance between the memories would result in an entire new person. I had already lost my body, I wasn't willing to give up my other identity - my personality i.e  myself. If I were to even give up something which made me, me, what was the importance of my existence?

But, I needed to know about hidden weapons. Without them, how should I survive in douluo dalu? I was just a 17 year old student, who didn't knew martial arts.

The Tang San's Ba Shu memory packet was 29 years old while my original was 17 years. Naturally,  it prevailed over my orignal. But I started reducing the 29 years time-frame by excluding irrelevant info. Biggest contributor was sleep - by excluding it, I reduced the packet time frame nearly by 50%. There were also many other factors, which were directly excluded. Thus, I started absorbing the relevant memories regarding only hidden weapons, poisons and martial arts, disregarding the rest. My main point of focus were the Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record memories and how he made the Buddha Fury Tang Lotus.

I tried my best to suppress the foreign emotions I felt during experiencing the life of Ba-Shu. The main emotion I felt was the loyalty towards Tang Sect. Tang San clearly devoted his life to Tang Sect. He still felt grateful to Tang Sect for giving him an opportunity to learn about hidden weapons and Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record whereas it was essentially still him who stole it from Tang Sect. They didn't do anything. Whatever information he stole with his own effort, was rightfully his own merit. What was the use of such loyalty and gratefulness when one was dead? All it mattered was the precious information. Did I hesitate to snatched this from Tang San? Ofcourse not. My life was on the line. I literally didn't care about Tang San or Tang Sect. And now I had became the new rightful owner of this knowledge. And Tang San? I watched him as his leftover soul dispersed into nothingness. Tang San, our great main protagonist was dead.
