Chapter 59: Empyrean Kingdom

Chapter 59: Empyrean Kingdom

Context = merchants talk about the rise of a new kingdom. How it's related to Mohgwyn and who Mohgwyn is. Transition to raven clan which was one of the 4 subordinate clans and their reaction to the news and then general statement of what has passed over the months time since the battle.

"Hey have you heard.." One voice rises up

"If the next words out of your mouth are about the new kingdom to the West then yes we have all heard about it. Your not unique in your god damned knowledge. Fool" a second voice reprimands the first

"Who are you calling a fool. If your so confident in your information gathering skills then let's compare notes" the first pitches in again

"Oh, you wanna bet, do ya? Alright, i'm down. How are we wagering?" The 2nd agrees and first provides the bet.

"How about you give me that new sword you keep parading around while ill hand over the precipice agreement"

The 2nd voice sweats a bit but shortly after regains their confidence. "Fine. let's get Uncle Roger next door to oversee the agreement" Both settle on it and a list of questions are written down by both parties and the man known as Uncle Roger, a prestigious chef who had graduated from Touki Culinary school established by Xue Tie during his early teen years, asks the question.

"Haiyaa, What is the name of the new empire to the west?"

"The Empyrean Kingdom/Empyrean Kingdom" Both sides say at once.

"Both sides are correct. Next Question: How long has the kingdom been established?"

"3 months/3 months"

"Fuiyooo. This competition looking just as hard and dry as my ex wife"

Both competing merchants almost have heart attacks from Uncle Rogers words but before they can comment. He continues.

"Next question: What are 2 crowning achievements that the kingdom is known for? You each can take turns speaking"

"Over the course of the 3 months, they had defeated no less than 6 titled douluo even though the king himself is only spirit saint still./ Hah, thats all you know. The better gossip is how they can actually provide ring evolution." The first merchant answers first and then his competitor states which gathers the attention of the other merchant and uncle roger.

"Haiyaa, so what happened next? They are official now? Or is there still fighting?" Uncle Roger questions with a curious look.

"Yes, they are still fighting. But the Balak Kingdom is on it's own. It is no longer getting support from Spirit Hall after the first major battle after it turned out that the new king and leader of the organization that took over the previous Sun Moon kingdom was their own Holy Guardian who had been deemed dead. They say that officially, Xue Tie had rebelled against Spirit Hall with the massacre being the primary indicator but i heard a few days ago. Tons of people from Spirit Hall were shown coming home under escort from the Empyrean Kingdom. Only a handful died because they thought they were going to die and they did but they shouldn't have to. At least that is the official story."

"My own theory is that Spirit Hall just committed a purge and that the Empyrean Kingdom might as well be a puppet under Spirit Hall. Afterall, the ones who died are all so random and scattered around in position and power. It's too weird" The merchant concludes and the first has tears in his eyes as he realizes that he truly was uninformed. He goes over to get his prized sword which actually was the first that his daughter had made for him to keep. He can only reluctantly hand it over.

In another region, in a city called Frozen Link. a group of people are meeting. All have similar facial features except one who is bringing the news.

"What did you say, repeat those exact words and where you heard them from" one older fellow demands. This person is a spirit douluo and the leader of this clan. He questions this messenger who repeats.

"Mohgwyn, I heard from a few dark spirit masters that had participated in the battles against the Balak Kingdom. Supposedly, they claim the right to be the rightful inheritors of the ancient empire and that all others are traitors or false idols. Granted these words are not official but can be heavily insinuated as they openly display the forgotten history."

The clan leader has his fist clenched with an excited look on his face. "Yes. yesss. YESSSS"

"This is what our clan has been waiting for since forever. It seems Xue Mao indeed has good luck, such a prestigious son who has now established his own organization and kingdom. Spirit ring evolution. How intriguing. Send word about the Sky piercer clan and if they are willing to accept us"

"Grandfather, are you certain? Are we not rushing forward too much?" A younger man in his late 20s sits beside the clan leader.

"Nonsense, we have been maintaining the ancient lands for centuries. This is our goal. Our great return. Xue Tie has clearly shown power that is comparable to the Rakshasa and Asura gods during their mortal days that had caused our downfall in the beginning. Perhaps even more so if he has the Xue family unique ability of our original lords. His rise is unstoppable as long as he has enough time and can strengthen his subordinates enough with ring evolution. It truly is an age where talent is forged and not born."

Discussions in the clan continue as they plan how to establish contact and move over resources should it all pull through. While they are doing that. Another group of people are having a discussion. More specifically, a young man in his early 20s is confused over the actions of his parents as he stumbles on them packing up.

"Ma, whats going on?" The son asks his mother as she is the one directing the change here.

"Your grandmother told us to get our things, we are leaving the defense clan."

"What why?!!" he almost yells if not for his mouth being partially covered by her hand.

"Don't yell, you will annoy the neighbors.

A figure in stylish casual wear is busy doing paperwork for his kingdom as he slowly establishes trade routes, battle plans and resources.

The reason for his large workload is the separation of religion and state while his organization is providing support. They are not integrated into the country. It serves as a safety blanket of sorts for his people to fall back on should the kingdom be overrun for any reason. This is why he was ok with keeping the sun Douluo as king under his control.

Speaking of. It's time for his scheduled tea time. Xue Tie moves away from the vast paperwork and a few attendants he trusts to take over come in. Xue Tie goes to the lower levels of the castle and bringing out a few tea cups and a tea pot. He uses his fire to heat it up and then pour it. Placing 2 cups with a few snacks on a tray that he slides through an opening in a cage.

"So, It has been a while since our last meeting. Are you almost ready to get out of here?"

chapter 2 has been redone but I couldn't do very much there without outright scrapping chapter 3 which I could have done but I'm not remaking the chapters after the first volume so simply messing with the chapter number count would be dumb
