1 Chapter 1

Today was an exciting day for many people in Glorybound City the reason being that today was the day of the Awakening Ceremony .

The Awakening Ceremony was used to awaken a person's " Martial Soul ". The ceremony usually took place once the participant reached 6 years of age.

Even though everyone was born with a " Martial Spirit " if one wasn't blessed with the ability to use soul power then they were simply destined to live a normal life. Without Soul Power, a person can never walk the path of a Spirit Master and would never be able to grow and strengthen their " Martial Spirit ".

And today many people's dreams will either begin to flourish or will be otherly destroyed. Currently, on the grounds of Red Mountain Academy, many children and parents could be seen crowded together as they excitedly waited for their names to be called out.

Among them was a very charming youth although his looks were a bit plain his eyes were a brilliant black color that shunned like obsidian.

His black hair fell loosely to his shoulders as it began to wade in the air as a passing breeze came along.

He stood beside a boy with similar features but the boy next had a much more charming face.

" Tang Wei Gege, do you think we'll awaken powerful Martial Spirits? " asked the 2nd boy.

The boy now know as Wei thought for some time before replying.

" Honestly I'm not sure Wulin, hopefully, something decent that way we can become Spirit Master and help out mom and dad! "

The boy named Wulin nodded his head hearing his words. And as if he had just realized something Wulin began looking around as if he was searching for something.

" Speaking of our parents where did dad go? "

" He said he was going to the bathroom he should be coming back soon. "

Just as he said that a rather plain-looking man who was 80% identical to Tang Wei came rushing towards them breathing heavily. The man was of course their father Tang Ziran.

" Sorry boys I didn't think the line to the bathroom would be that long! No one tried to do anything strange to either of you while I was away, did they? Asked Ziran.

Both Tang Wei and Wulin gave a small smile as they shook their heads and answered.

" No Father " x2

Ziran sighed in relief as he gave both the boys a smile as he ruffled their heads.

" That's good the two of you wouldn't believe the level of difficulty I had trying to take a shit while worrying about the both of you! "

"Pff...Bahaha haha "

Immediately they broke into a laugh at that unexpected reply. After a while, their laughter died out they became aware that they had drawn some attention their way after all their commotion it quickly became awkward.

Wanting to change the atmosphere Tang Ziran decided to ask whether they were nervous or excited. Of course, being the hopeful and energetic kid that he was Wulin answered first.

" Nope, I'm very excited I can't wait to awaken my Martial Soul!! "

And just as he said that a voice called out.

" NEXT WE HAVE TANG WULIN "

Immediately Wulin began jumping for joy.

" THEY CALLED ME! THEY CALLED ME! THEY CALLE ME! "

He then turned towards Tang Wei and Ziran as he said.

" Brother, Father I'll be going now don't worry about a thing I'm sure I'll awaken spirit power!"

But before he could leave he was stopped by Ziran who dropped to his level so they could look eye to eye.

" Wulin before you go I want you to remember that no matter what father will always be on your side and will always support you!!"

Wulin just smiled brightly as he nodded his head and ran off to the Awakening chamber.

Ziran followed him with his eyes until he could no longer see him. A sigh escaped from him as he just hoped for the best.

Seeing his father looking so worried Tang Wei just came closer to him and patted him on the shoulder.

" It's ok dad Wulin is a lot stronger than you think he is, I'm sure no matter what happens he'll find a way to bounce back. "

Ziran looked towards his oldest son as he gave a small smile. He then stood up on his feet as he gently caressed the top of Tang Weis's head.

" You're 10yrs too early to be trying to console me you brat. "

Tang Wei simply replied by sticking his tongue out jokingly before back towards the Awakening Chamber awaiting his brother's return.

Still looking at his son Ziran couldn't help thinking to himself.

( You silly boy you're too young to be worried about me. I pray that your future is bright sadly, your father is too useless I can only hope that the heavens shine on you and give you a future better than I could ever provide you. )

Sometime later a gloomy-looking Tang Wulin resurfaced from the ' Awakening Chamber ' seeing this let Tang Wei know one of 2 things 1) Wulin awakened without the ability to use Spirit Power or 2) he can use Spirit Power but his Martial Soul is trash.

Before he could even get the chance to talk with him, Tang Wei heard his name called.

" NEXT UP WE HAVE TANG WEI! "

Sighing at the terrible timing, Tang Wei could only give Wulin a small smile and pat on the shoulder as he went to awaken his ' Martial Soul ' he'll let his dad handle the pep talk for now.

He soon made his way into the Awakening Chamber where he came in contact with an eccentric-looking man. For some reason, the man went on about how beautiful his eyes were and it began to give him the creeps so he tried to change the subject.

" Ummm what about my ' Awakening ' "

As he was just reminded of something the man seemed to snap into business mode.

" My apologies young one I seem to have forgotten about our main reason for being here if you wouldn't mind steeping on the spirit formation next to you then we could proceed with the 'Awakening'. "

Doing as he was told, Tang Wei stepped into the spirit formation. Almost immediately he was surrounded by a golden light as he underwent his awakening.

Tang Wei could feel himself growing taller, his body growing a bit stronger, and his mind growing clearer. His hair became wild and long and changed to ash-gray, his hands became more claw-like, and his pupils turned into slits like that of a lion.

A roar escaped his mouth sadly this roar didn't have the aura of might that most best spirits had, and the pressure released from him wasn't anything too impressive.

It wasn't long before the light around him dwindled out of existence allowing the man to see his new appearance.

" Not bad it seems you awakened the newly discovered ' Martial Soul ' " Spirit Lion "

It's a ' Martial Soul ' that can be used for Power Attack, or Spiritual Control, or even both although that path is much harder to accomplish. "

Tang Wei was impressed by the potential of his Martial Soul. Ideas of what path he should take immediately began circulating throughout his mind. However, he was snapped out of his thoughts after being called by the man.

" Come with me to test your Spirit Power! "

Tang Wei nodded as he followed him to the Spirit Power testing device.

" Place your hand there and I'll do the rest. "

Tang Wei did as instructed and immediately he felt a comfortable sensation flow through him as energy began to pour into the spirit power device.

It didn't take long for the process to be over as the number 4 popped up on the screen. The instructor frowned a bit as he said.

"An innate Spirit Power of 4. "
