Jealous Stares and First Meal

Daren had no idea about how they had come up with such a sh*t name. It seems as though the humans in the medieval world really lacked creativity.

Daren walked up to the reception where Lilith and her dad were still shocked by Celina's appearance.

"Can we get 2 plates of sunny side eggs, 2 plates of boar sausages, and 2 loaves of goat cheese bread?" Daren put down three silvers into the counter while saying this and then left to an empty table with Celina still clinging to him.

Daren had not only overpaid his meal by a lot, but his meal was also quite expensive, to begin with. The foods that he ordered were the most expensive ones available on the menu due to the rarity of the ingredients.

It had to be known that only the rich could afford meals with eggs and meat often. The commoners could only afford to eat meat on special occasions.

Eggs were out of the picture since suppliers only sold them in small amounts. The rich would always buy out most of the eggs whenever they were available.

"I knew this was going to happen. These people can't take their eyes off you," said Daren while appearing to stress over this attention. Even if was used to it, he never liked the attention from strangers.

"Unlike you, this attention makes me feel quite comfortable. Why would I go through the trouble of making myself such a body if I didn't want some? What's with you and throwing around silver coins like it's nothing?" Celina was unsure of why Daren was throwing around money.

According to Daren's story, he should have gathered just enough money to travel and pay for the rare medicine. Even if he was a cultivator, all he did was kill the magic beasts if he could find them.

Given that he was still on the weakest ends of cultivation. he should not be able to beat a majority of magic beats and only be able to defeat the absolute weakest ones. He should definitely not have money to throw around since he did not have any strong background.

"Hahaha. It's just a habit. I used to always throw in extra tips because I felt that people could always use the extra money. I had more money than I could ever spend so I felt it would help." Daren always ate at smaller restaurants because he did not like the glamour of the famous ones.

He felt more comfortable with smaller restaurants that had a more homelike taste rather than the fancy dishes that the rest of high society consumed.

"Then why would you start such chaos if you cared about the common people so much?" she asked in return.

"If you dig deep enough and go back to when I was in my high school history class, you would see that the way interstellar empires and kingdoms had grown. There was a pact made between the human commoners and their governments right before they started the interstellar era and left their home planet of earth. If the government of any side was to get the commoners involved in their war, they would be purged. If a government lost a war, they would be replaceable but it was greatly understood that you could not replace commoners as even your soldier were common citizens."

Daren's explanation was slightly long but completely true. Earth's citizens would not let their governments oppress any longer so they had slowly taken away the powers of their government and had their military regulations changed where the safety of the citizens ranked above that of your orders.

This made it possible to use the military to overthrow the government at any given time.

"I see. That's why you guys didn't care about wars it would only affect the upper echelons of the government. To you guys, it was only a small change as it did not affect your daily lives."

"Yeah. No country would harm their own people because that was just idiotic. Even the country you were fighting would not dare hurt their future citizens as hurting the common people of another nation would just make your own people turn against you. There was no national pride. It was just the commoner pride, the wealthy's pride, and the government's pride. All three had different ideals but commoner had undoubtedly been the largest and powerful of unities."

"Hmm. Oh. That seems to be our food. I wonder what it will taste like." Celina was too distracted by the food that was coming. She did not care for Daren's story as she was only using it to kill time.

The young waitress brought over 2 plates of food and a small basket with the two loaves of bread. She served the food to Celina with a bright smile and made a little "hmph" noise when she served Daren.

"F*CK my life. That's the price I pay for having a beautiful wife." he thought. "I don't really mind it though. Hehehe." The final part was his masochism at play.

"Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm" cried Celina as she made a lovely expression. She was thoroughly enjoying the first taste of food in this world. Good thing that this was a good place and her first experience was the heavenly food made by a loving mother.

Daren and the onlookers also enjoyed their meal as they stared at the satisfied face of Celina. She was truly a carefree goddess.

"You like it?" asked Daren. The response he got was Celina nodding her head while munching on the cheese bread like a squirrel. She was very happy.

Daren liked the feeling of warmth in the food but he could not help but remember that the quality was better in his world.

As the couple was enjoying their meal, a towering, muscular, orange-bearded man entered the establishment. His narrow eyes instantly gazed towards Daren's table where the couple was talking about starting a farm for eggs and meat.

The man took large strides towards the table with a young lady in tow. The customers were scared as this man was looked like a giant that could crush them with his thick, muscular arms.

The bearded man took his large palms and smacked Daren right on his back. Daren did not feel any pain but still almost choked on a piece of cheese bread.

"Little brother, don't tell me you're cheating on sister-in-law," said Rusky after seeing Daniel having breakfast with a lady he had never seen before.

"Hehe. I thought big brother would stop by later in the day," replied Daren.

"You forgot that I eat all my meals here, didn't you?"

"Yes. I did forget that big brother so I apologize. Also, I am not cheating on your sister-in-law as this is her." said Daren.
