Prologue: The Caged Bird

Tessa stared outside of the window over half an hour. She wanted to escape from this cage she called home. Home. That word sounded familiar. When was the last time she went home? Oh right, it's been a long time.

After looking outside of the window, she spotted raindrops outside in the lonely attic. The word home sounded unfamiliar now. After her parent's death, she wanted to murder someone she called father.

She withstood the abuse and she was kept busy around the house when other of her siblings were outside and playing. While they attend important ball or dinner, Tessa will be alone in the attic.

Crying.

She was a caged bird. Being abused by her adopted family. She awaited the time where she could murder all of them. It came true. All of them dead. One by one. But, who was it? It wasn't Tessa but was someone helping her out while she was suffering?

Tessa, sixteen years old, has yet to experience the real world that awaits her. From being a caged bird to a vampire's castle, she was desperate to run away as far as possible away from her adopted family.

There, Gabriel... stood in front of her. His eyes were dark red. Tall and handsome. He was her knight in shining armor. His smile and his touch...she longed for that. What Gabriel sees might be different from what she sees. Who was he? Is he the pureblood that everyone think he is?

Before it all happened, Tessa was a bright and innocent girl. After being violated by her step-father, she hated him to the very core. His step-father was the one who was involved with her parents death. But he is hiding it so well. Will she ever avenge her parents?

Gabriel was a young boy when one evening, tragedy occured in the household and he became the Lord from a young age. He was lonely but he got one gift from his mother and he treasured it. Will Gabriel find out the truth behind his family's tragedy?
