Living the memories

"What do you know about this mage, Gran Firel", Sam was flipping through the diary and it was filled with many words and diagrams but unfortunately he didn't understand anything. Mia tried recalling all the mages she had heard of but nowhere there was any mention of Gran Firel.

"Don't know", she shrugged her shoulders and looked through the things they brought. "Can I keep these", she had a pair of earring that had a green jade crystal in her hands and asked Sam. Sam waited for Sei's analysis and replied, "Sure, they will suite you more than me".

A broken wand, a white crystal ball, some potion bottles, and few other books written in unknown language, and few garbage items was all they had brought with them. [Those potions are quite valuable. take them], Sei told Sam. There were five bottles, two of them filled with green liquid, while the rest were filled with red liquid. "I will take these potions while you can keep the books", Sam took the bottles in his possession and threw the garbage out.

"It was fun, wasn't it. Is this what adventuring feels like", Mia had a happy expression on her face. "Don't tell anyone of this. It will be our secret", Sam said while signaling her to keep it low. "Our secret. I am going out", Mia blushed slightly and left the room in a hurry. She was filled with never before known feelings and rushed outside for fresh air.

Sam took the crystal pendant out and stared at it for a few minutes. He decided to talk about it in night and went out for lunch. The table has been set up and Haru and Melodia were already eating while Rose was waiting for Sam.

"You look well", Sam smacked Haru lightly and took his seat. "After eating these dishes and resting on comfortable bed I am very much fine", Haru replied while everyone giggled. Like that the day went by and night arrived. Sam came back to his room and this time he locked the door and drew the curtains.

Sitting on his bed he asked Sei, 'Now tell me'. For a moment there was silent before Sei started talking. [It was the necklace the voice was coming from], Sam took the pendant out and stared at it. The crystal was filled with semi transparent liquid and white fibers could be seen floating in it. 'What are these white fiber like thing in it', pointing to them Sam asked.

[Most likely memory of someone. The tears of Nemori dragons act as medium in which memories can be stored. Like this people can extract important memory and leave for later people to find].

'Hmm, so these are memories. But how can we know what is stored'.

[Break the crystal and drink the content to live the memory], Sei guided Sam on how to open the crystal and Sam drank the liquid. At first its bitter taste made Sam scrunched up but then he found himself transferred to someplace.

Sam saw a little boy playing in the garden of an orphanage catching butterflies and laughing. He was wondering where he was when a big man entered. The man was complete black, one couldn't figure out his face or anything as in a silhouette of a person. He comes to the the boy and they talk or this Sam figured out.

The next moment his surroundings change and he is present in a field with many silhouettes. he can only completely figure out one person. This must be the owner of the memory seeing as only his shape is clear. He is practicing magic and is quite skilled.

The next moment he finds himself in a castle and what appears like a award ceremony with the man getting rewarded and crowd cheering. Like that Sam lived through his whole life until his death when he was woken up by Mia.

"Why are you crying?", Sam found himself crying for some reason and wiped his tears. "A nightmare I guess", Sam laughed it off. "Why are you here", he knew that he had locked the door but here she was standing. "Hmph, I came here to wake you up for breakfast", Mia asked him to follow her to the courtyard.

"Today, I prepared a special tea", pouring in the tea she sat down. "Oh! Did you made it yourself. It is quite delicious", taking a sip Sam was surprised at the taste. It was quite delicious but after seeing the devilish smile on Mia's face Sam got a bad feeling.

"I want to go with you", like that Mia dropped a bomb. Seeing Sam's expression Mia laughed and continued, "I would like to go on my own adventures, outside this palace and see the world. Not waste my life stuck in these huge walls".

"Will they allow it", Sam asked. Mia looked towards the palace and said, "They won't, that is why you will sneak me out". There it is another bomb. This time Sam knew he was in bigger trouble than ever. What would the king do when he is delivered the news that his daughter is missing. Find the person responsible, declare him a traitor and hang him up.

'What trouble have I brought upon myself', Sam was crying inside. Mia saw Sam weighing all the options and couldn't help but laugh.

"Don't worry, the king won't do anything. And I am a very skill person good at hiding. No harm will befall upon you", Mia told him. 'Quite persistent', Sam thought this. Looks like he had signed for trouble. "I will tell you the details later. Enjoy the tea", Mia got up and left. Sam saw her disappearing figure and with a long sigh he continued drinking the tea. 'Atleast the tea is great'.
