"I heard that Jodie Foster is coming tomorrow?"

When the Old Gun suddenly entered Christian's tent and asked this question, it was already midnight. Christian had just finished planning the shoot for the next day and was about to rest.

No way, the small crew has no money and they've caught up with on-location shooting. Everyone stays in tents, including Christian, who is the director. Some people, like Old Gun, have more experience and some cash or live in their RVs. Christian would occasionally visit him for a drink, although he preferred Kvass.

However, the soundproofing in Old Gun's RV was impressive. After Annika entered, it shook vigorously for a while, but no sound escaped.

"Don't worry about Foster," Christian smirked.

"Talk about it. Did you have a good night yesterday?"

"Yesterday!?" Old Gun was taken aback, suddenly realizing something.

"Annika mentioned you gave her a bottle of tequila — you rascal"

"Don't tell me you didn't enjoy it," Christian said, giving his assistant director a knowing look.

"Alright," Old Gun, with a hint of embarrassment on his bearded face, replied as an older man. "Annika is a good woman, I can't..."

"You've been divorced for three years, old man" Christian interrupted him. "We should look forward."

He patted his shoulder. "You know Annika's situation isn't great, but it seems you have a soft spot for her. Otherwise, you wouldn't have made a move today."

At this point, Christian grinned. "Anyway, let's move on"

Before Old Gun could react, he quickly added, "Now, back to the original question – yes, Jodie Foster is coming tomorrow"

"Westwood invited her?" Old Gun shifted to business matters.

"Anthony is finally doing his producer duties"

After appointing Christian as the director, Anthony Westwood didn't just sit back. He helped Christian manage the crew and tried to have more involvement in the filmmaking. Due to health issues, he couldn't be on set all the time and after a few disagreements with Christian, he wisely backed off.

"Now, Jodie Foster's appearance suggests that after giving up his interference in the crew, Mr. Producer has returned to one of his core roles – seeking funding."

Indeed, Jodie Foster, a renowned Hollywood actress in the '80s and '90s, won her second Oscar for "The Silence of the Lambs" in 1992. The director initially thought about inviting her to star in the movie. However, Christian and Old Gun, as the director and assistant director, first considered her another role – a smart woman who owned a production company called "Egg." Coincidentally, this company was one of the co-producers of "Wrong Turn."

"When you and Westwood visited an investor last time, didn't you see her?" Old Gun was curious about this legendary lady with financial influence.

"She was filming at the time, so I didn't get a chance to meet her."

"Will she make additional investments this time?"

"Westwood mentioned it's about 60% likely, and the rest depends on us on the spot."

Christian learned that Jodie Foster was one of the key investors in the project when she took over as the director. However, she didn't know if Foster had plans to continue investing in the film.

For Christian, the former director, Alan, was no longer just missing but deceased. He had learned the truth about Alan's fate after encountering the Ghost tiger from the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom era that night.

"Have you considered how she might react after watching the sample?" Old Gun was worried about this. Christian, the real director, wanted to reassure him.

"Don't worry, You've seen the samples too. Do you have confidence in our previous work?"

Christian had harnessed the power of the Ghost tiger during the shoot, making certain scenes appear mysterious and otherworldly, especially when he had Annika modify the appearance of the mutant creature, which was influenced by the Ghost tiger. The last few touches he added himself were a rune, symbolizing the Ghost tiger.

If 'Wrong Turn' is released, the Ghost Tiger could absorb the fear of the audience through this rune. It might eventually transform from a mandrill into a real mountain god. At this point, Christian was not deceiving him.

'It's my opportunity to gain the upper hand,' Christian thought.

Up until now, Christian had cooperated with the Ghost Tiger, even though it was a risky endeavor. He had no reason to harm the Ghost tiger, considering it had already taken Alan's life. When he left, he saw Alan and the former lead actress Eliza Kunis. They had no consciousness; they were controlled by the Ghost tiger.

"How do you think she'll react after watching the sample?" Old gun was still concerned. Christian, the true director, aimed to comfort him.

"Don't worry, You've seen the samples, and you believe in our previous work, don't you?"

Christian borrowed the Ghost Tiger's power after agreeing with it, giving the film an eerie, supernatural quality. "Wrong Turn" was now more than just a movie; it was a vessel for the Ghost tiger to absorb the audience's fear and eventually transform into a mountain god.

Christian knew he had to handle this situation carefully because he had discovered something special in the rune the Ghost Tiger gave him.
