The Book

"Who are you!".

I have gone and done it.

What was I thinking asking the voice in my head who it was?

No, no, no. I didn't hear the voice come from my head. Rather, it sounded like it came from the surroundings, its, tone echoing through the walls of the building until it got to my ears.

So... The house is hunted?!

Was about to freak out, but I knew better than to start panicking. I have to at least try or say something.

Besides, it greeted me when I came in. Maybe it too wants to strike up a conversation with me, and is only waiting for me to go first?

Sometimes I am amazed at how deep and nonsensical my thoughts go. Creating a scenario that I don't know if it's true or not.

{ I Am The Personal Assistant Of The Oduduwa Lineage. Created By The First Oduduwa As The Protector Of This House And The Guardian Of The Future Oduduwa That Is Set To Inherit The Legacy }

'Okay, so that... Was cool!'. I thought.

Contrary to my contrasting thoughts, I got an answer from the voice. A positive answer that helped me understand to a certain degree.

Maybe this could go as easily as I did not think it would. All I need to do is just probe it for more answers and bam, I am reborn with infinite knowledge.

An internal snicker at the infinite part is let out.

"Then that place! That forest! Those beasts I saw! Are you telling me all of those were real!".

Before anything else, I had to know that I wasn't walking on eggshells. That I wasn't letting my imagination run rampant.

{ Yes, They Are All Real }

Answered the voice, with a tone devoid of suspense or any emotions akin to the living.

So yeah. A part of me already knew it was real, but hearing someone else confirm the validation is... Frightening.

{ That Was An Experience Designed By The First Oduduwa To Help The Future Oduduwa Adjust To The Living Conditions Of The New World }

{ It Is Also Meant To Serve As A Cataclysmic Effect To Trigger The Awakening Of Your Oduduwa Bloodline }

'Wow, I haven't even started and am already learning a lot of new things'.

First Oduduwa, future Oduduwa, bloodline, cataclysmic?!!

For that last one, I am lost to what the meaning is. It is too big a grammar to comprehend.

"Wait, wait, wait. Before you dive in deeper, can you pick it up from the beginning". I inquired.

I don't know if it is just me, but I feel like the voice is taking things too fast.

At the rate it is going, my brain will end up being overloaded with information that I will not be able to remember.

Once I was done suggesting to the voice, a book materialized before me.

How should I put this? It just appeared before me, floating and emitting a dark vibrance to the surroundings.

"What is that". I asked as I made my way up the couch to get a closer observation of the book.

{ It Will Aide You In Knowing Everything There Is To Know About What Is Happening To You }

I closed the distance with the book and stretched my hand toward it. In response, it stopped glowing and slowly descended.

Knowing that its landing spot would be on my stretched-out hand, I hurriedly joined in the other hand and widened both palms while keeping them very close to one another.

The book is not only wide but also long. There is a part of me that questions if I would be able to hold onto it with both palms.

That was how intimidating it looked.

My worries were put to nought when the book comfortably landed on my widened palm like I was handed a tray.

Unlike what I had expected solely based on the size it was displayed, the book was neither heavy nor uncomfortable sitting on my palm.

With the book resting on both palms, I went back to the couch and sat.

I looked at the cover page and saw a text boldly written on it in a form that I did not understand.

"Tale Of The First Oduduwa". I read out loud then added, "So it is about the first Oduduwa? Probably the same one dubbed as the great one".

It wasn't until I finished my sentence that I remembered something.

"Wait a second! How did I understand what the front cover word meant?!".

Just earlier I assumed myself to not have understood anything about the word. Then moments later I found myself already reading out the words fluently, like I had learned them beforehand.

"What was that about". I questioned, turning my head away from the book and at midair.

The question was directed at the voice who I presume would know the answer to what just happened.

I got no reply even after waiting for about thirty seconds.

Is that its way of telling me that the book would answer my question? If so, that is lazy of it as an assistant.

"What about what happened to my body. I can see from a long distance away. Does that have anything to do with this?!!".

I felt perhaps; it did not answer my first question because it wasn't that big of a deal.

If so, what about a question involving my body? I feel like that is pretty much a big deal on its own.

It should at least be able to provide an answer to that. Right?!!

Well, it appears I was wrong.

Seems I won't be getting anything out of it so no use waiting for a reply.

Do you want me to read the book? Fine, I will do it. I will read the damn book and get it all done with.

Find me the information I need by reading the book.

I was about to open the front cover when I turned to myself and questioned; "Exactly how long will it take me to read this book for?...".

It's a pretty big book and I don't have that much of a time to gloss through it all.

With how busy and occupied I am, it would take me at least a month or a month and a half to read through it all. That is assuming I also take it to the store with me.

"Sigh!!".

Things would have been better if it could at least answer the questions I consider as critical.

Well, whatever.
