Enikil's POV

The first time Aya turned and looked up at me in the marketplace, I felt my heart constrict. She was but a ghost of the lively woman I had known for thousands of years. Though still so incredibly lovely and delicate.

As soon as I could, I reached out into her mind. The horrors she'd seen.. Then Gem on top of it all.. Gem left her this way on purpose. Gem had kept certain memories locked away in Aya's mind, just in case. I immediately unlocked them and was shocked. Her hissed out words stuck out among so many. "You will wish you had never told me, no. You will beg me for release from this world. No one is here that can help you now, you little bitch!" I cringe at the words as they now float away in my mind too.
