320 Starvation (1/2) - R18

"You don't know what it felt like when I thought I'd lost you forever. It hurt worse than any poison ever could," Rowan whispered, lips moving like feathers over the hollow of Wren's throat.

Now that he was this close, Rowan couldn't help but wedge himself more firmly against Wren's torso in an effort to stave off the chill of his fever. He nuzzled Wren's neck again, inhaling deeply before blowing the air out between his lips. He needed to immerse himself in the scent of Wren's skin, even if just for a moment.

Wren made a pained noise, as if he were the one who'd been burned even though his body was on fire with the Disorder he barely contained within himself. He tried to push Rowan away, but Rowan clung tight, not wanting to accept that Wren's resistance hadn't dissolved in his embrace the way he'd hoped it would.
