1 Devil Fruit and Meeting Robin

In the middle of a clearing in the woods on a island in the West Blue, a 11 year old Cloud is drawing out a pratice katana from it's scabbard over and over again. The first thing anyone would notice about Cloud is his vibrate red under a straw-hat that his wearing along with a white button up shirt leaving half of them unbuttoned, black pants, and straw sandals. The looks up at the sky after taking the hat off to whip off the sweat he gained by training.

""Sate, sate, sate( Meaning: Well, well, well) looks like a storm is coming." said Cloud with a smile as he put the hat back on and started walking threw the forest. After walking for sometime Cloud's stomach started growling in hunger. Holding his stomach he started to look around form something to eat, and after a few minuties of looking he was about to give up when something hit him on the head making him go turn around and go straight for pratice katana but when he looked around he saw nothing. "Huh weird." he said but as he started walking his foot hit something making him look down. ""Sate, sate, sate what's this?" he asked himself as he bent down and picked up some kind of fruit that was shaped like two wings, and the pattern was like the wings on a angel; but the color was midnight black.

Looking at the fruit Cloud's stomach growled again and he made his discussion to eat the strange fruit. So tearing it in half Cloud took a huge bit out of it which became a mistake as he started to chew the fruit only to be assulted with the taste of spoiled milk and bannana peels making him wanted to spit it out right away, but remembering his dads words of never wasting food coupled with how hungry he was Cloud muscled through not only eating half the fruit but all of it.

"Worst. Taste, Ever." Could said while walking back to the village as drops of rain started to fall. Picking up the pace Cloud felt his back started to itch on his shoulder blades, but as fast as it came it went away. So putting it out of his mind Cloud made it to the village, but as he ran by an alley between two building he noticed a person with long black hair sitting on the ground with their head down on there knees. Turning around Cloud stopped at the mouth on the alley making the person look up to see when the running noise stopped, and Cloud saw blue eyes that he thought was very pretty looking at him with strands of hair dropping infront of her eyes

"You know you'll catch a cold if you sit out in the rain ya know." Cloud said with a tilt of his head and a smile.

Robin looked at the young boy that ha a grin on his face, and she noticed his vibrate red hair that she has never seen before under the straw hate that his wearing. Then she noticed the sword on his left hip, but figured that it wasn't real since she dosen't know a young boy that carries around a real blade. "Im fine." Robin said looking away from the boy trying to end the conversation quickly as possible as thunder and lightning lite up the sky making Robing pull into herself more. She always hated the rain 'maybe it'll stop before it gets dark' Robin thought. Expecting him to get the hint, but intead he surprised her by sitting down next to her making her look at him quickly.

"What are you doing?" Robin asked

"Umm. Sitting." Cloud answered looking at Robin with a straight face as the rain dripped down the hat.

"I see that, but why here?" Robin asked trying to understand what the boy was doing.

"Sate, sate, sate. This spot is as good as any to wait out the rain." Cloud said with another smile.

Robin just like at him thinking 'why won't he just go away. I want to be left alone right now.'

"So why are you sitting in the rain?" Cloud asked, but seeing as she didn't answer he asked another question " Wouldn't you rather be inside?" Getting no answer again Cloud sighed " My names Cloud. What's yours?" Cloud asked. Making Robin think about answering this time 'my name.? It's just my name right. His not as old as I am so he can't do anything about it'. "My name is Nico Robin." She answered lifting up her head looking at the red-head grinning at her.

"Nice to meet you Nico Robin!" Cloud said.

'His smile is... Oddly infectious.' Robin thought and soon finding herself smiling back at Cloud. "So why are you sitting in the rain?"

"Why are you?" Cloud coutered.

"I asked first Cloud." Robin said with a smrik on her face seeing Cloud look of defeat.

"Well I was training in the forest, but I started to get hungry so I decided to come back to the village." Cloud answered.

"What are you training for?" Robin couldn't helo herself but ask as something about the young boy was drawing her in.

"To surpass and beat my dad one day." Cloud answered laughing at the end making Robin giggle as well, but was stopped by her own stomach growling making Cloud laugh even harder.

"Hey Robin how about you come get something to eat with me." Cloud said to her with that smile she was starting see him with.

"Your going beat me huh Cloud?" said a voice in amusement at the mouth of the alley.

The man in the alleyway had the same red hair as Cloud, or to be more accurate Cloud has the same red hair as the man walking towards Cloud. It only took a quick glance for Robin to figure out there related to each other. 'More than likely his father.' Robin thought to herself as she watched the red-headed man walk over to Cloud and squat down infront of him. The man infront of her is a relatively tall man, well-built, tan-complexioned. His wearing a sweeping long, sleeveless black cape with a high collar, and under it a simple, white shirt half-buttoned up, exposing the middle of his chest and some of his abs. Additionally wearing pants cut below the knee, collected halfway up the shin with a red sash around his waist to keep his shirt tucked inside. Finally, his footwear consists of simple brown sandals. This man is Red-Hair Shanks, and Clouds father

"I guess you had a good training session Cloud?" The man said taking the straw hat and putting it o his own head with a smile.

"You bet I did. I only came back because I noticed it was going to rain, and I was hungry." Cloud answered with a huge smile on his face.

"Dahahahaha... Good. Since your going to surpass me and all. Oh who's this Cloud?" He asked while looking at Robin who srunk in on herself. "Robin." She answered watching him carefully. He looks at her for a few momments and surprises her by laughing and giving a thumbs up to Cloud.

"Way to go son! Your first girlfriend and she's not only cute but you even asked her on a date! Good job dahahaha. "Clouds cheeks was as red as his hair right now. "You should of just got her and came to the bar kiddo, no need to sit here in the rain". 'That is certainly a streach, even for a joke. After all she is years older than him' Robing thought with a preplexed look on her face.

"S-stop dad it's not like that." Cloud said, tring to explain the situation to his dad which only makes him laugh even harder.

"Don't be shy son! I can't believe it my son is in love! Come on. She has to meet the crew kiddo." Without giving either of them a say in the matter he picked up both Cloud and Robin, holding both of them under each of his arms.

Robin was shocked at first, but as it wore off she started to get ready for anything, afterall it wouldn't be the first tie she had to make a quick escape, and thankfully it appears to be a short walk as she recogonized the place as the village bar, but tonight it seems pretty rowdy tonight. If the laughing was anything to go by. Pushing the door free with his foot, Shanks pushed it right on in as all heads turns towards the door and everyone raises there glass up.

"Captain!" They cheered seeing Shanks walk in. 'Captain? He dosen't look like the Navy, and Maries don't have a crew this large, and most defently aren't this well armed. Which leaves...' Robin thought.

"Your a pirate?" Robin asked as she and Cloud were put down in on the bar stools at the front of the bar. She looked at Cloud only to see him smiling at everyone in the bar. 'If his a pirate then even if he knew who she was, and saw her bounty poster he wouldn't turn her in to the Navy... probably. Since Pirates and the Navy don't get along.

"Yup all my life!" Shanks said with a smile.

"Me too I.. Wait dad like I was saying Ro-" Cloud get's cut off as Shanks turns around and address everyone in the bar.

"Now! Time for introductions!" As he goes about pointing at each crew memeber and lits off there names before Robin can object. A few stand out from the crew. One being a heavy set man wearing goggles named Luck Roo. A tall musculer man smoking a slim cigar named Been Beckmen, and a shorter man with blond hair named Yasopp.

"Alright! Enough of the introductions... Let's party!!" Shanks said earning cheers all across the room. Cloud gets food placed infront of him and Robin and he starts eating, not noticing the hesitant look on Robin's face, but after having a internally conversation with herself she decideds to digg in.

"How do you like the food Robin?" Cloud asked watching her eat with grace and modesty that the guys around didn't share.

"It's pretty good thank you for asking. How do you like yours?" She asked back in return.

"It's good, and I'm glade that I can get that nasty taste from that weird fruit I ate out of my mouth." Cloud said making everyone pause that heard what he said. Including his dad.

"Huh what fruit did you eat kiddo?" Shanks asked while waving his hand making everyone quit down as he wanted to mek sure his son didn't eat what he thinks he ate.

"Sate, sate, sate. It was a weird black fruit that was shaped like wings and tasted disgusting." Cloud said without a care in the world as he was still eating not noticing everyone look at him with wide eyes except Robin who was more curious about the 'type' of fruit Cloud ate.

"ARE YOU SERIOUS?! ARE YOU OK?! HOW DO YOU FEEL?!" Shanks asked with eyes so big they took up most of his face while checking Cloud's body over. Making him a bit mad his dad stopped him from eating.

"Yeah dad im fine. Sheesh im trying to eat here." Cloud said. Calming down Shanks took a sip of sake to ease his nerves. 'We have to find out what fruit he ate cause from what his describing I've never heard of it before.' Shanks thought.

"So did you feel diffrent after eat that fruit kiddo?" He asked Cloud, but when turned to look at him his son was ignoring him instead he was talking to Robin making a tick mark appear on his forehead making him smack Cloud over the head for not paying attention.

"Oi what was that for old man!!!" Cloud said stand on the bar stoll looking in his dads eyes, but what he didn't notcie was two 30in(fully stretched out) midnight black wings that grew out of his back leaving two holes in his shirt. Cloud looked lost for a split second as information came into his mind about the devil fruits that him and Robin were talking about. "Sate, sate, sate. It looks like my devil fruit is the Human-Human Model Fallen Angel. Cool Robin look at my wings!" Cloud said in a excited tone making her giggel behind her hand. "Yes I see your wings, and I must say they are quit beautiful" Robins said while running her fingers along Clouds feathers making his wings ruffle a bit.

"Well kiddo. It looks like you have a Mythical Zoan- type which is even rarer than logia types, but now that you have devil fruit powers you have to know you can never swim again." Shanks said while Cloud was looking at him in horror since that was one of his most favorite thing to do.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN I CAN'T SWIM DAD. I LOVE SWIMMING!!" Cloud yelled while his wings speard out to there full length making Cloud fall off the stool, but as he was falling with his eye's closed his wings started to flap making him float just before he hit the floor.

Everyone including Robin looked at Cloud as he hasn't hit the floor but instead was flying just aboce the floor. Seeing this Shanks laughed making everyone else laugh with him in happyness seeing as his son has a very powerful devil fruit. After explaining everything about devil fruits to Cloud the party get going... and going... and going, and before Robin knows she starts to feel like apart of everything going on around her, mostly because Cloud and Shanks made her feel that way; even if Shanks would tease the both of them about being girlfriend and boyfriend. Much to the amusment of the crew and embarssement of the two of them.

Soon crew members start to file out as, and Robin expected them to dine and dash but was surprised when she say them leave wads of beli at the tables they were out. Soon it was just Cloud, Robin, and Shanks.

"Well I guess they party is over for today." Shanks said while Cloud just snorted at his dad laying his head on his arms. "You act like were not going to be parting again tomorrow dad." Making Robin giggle. Shanks reached over and patted Cloud on the head "Alright kiddo... It's time to go." Shanks said.

"I should head back too." Robin said as she reached in her pockets only out pull out a few beli

"Don't worry about it." and Shanks shakes his head as he pulls out a wad of beli paying for all three of them.

"I can pay you back I swear." Robin said in embarssement.

"Don't worry about about it." Shanks said with a smile. "Im heading back first kiddo. I'll give you sometime to say bye to your girlfriend." Shanks said with a sly smile on his face as he saw both of there faces heat up in embarssement.

"Stupid old man. I keep telling him it's not like that." Cloud said with his cheeks still a shade of red making Robin giggle at how cute he looked 'wait cute...I can't let him get to close but...no Robin. No' Robin came out of her thoughts when she heard Cloud speaking to her.

"Your dad and his crew are great. I never met pirates that act like them. Not that I've met pirates before. I just never imagined a captain acting like your dad. In fact im sure no other captain anywhere acts like your dad." Robin said and smailed when Clouds face lit up with a huge smile.

"Yeah dad's pretty cool huh." Cloud said gushing over his dad until he realizes his mistake and surpresses his smile and a look of horror overcame it as he started to look around like something was going to jump out any minute "Robin you cant tell him I said that. Please please please don't tell him I said that. He'll never let me hear the end of it." Cloud said as he got a hold of Robin's shoulders pleading with her not to tell that he didn't notice how close they were to each other until he saw how Robins face was heating up, making his own heat up to match hers.

"I-I-I promise n-not to tell." Robin said turning her head away from Cloud trying to cover up her blush. Getting her compsurer back "So are you guys only active in the West Blue?" Robin asked.

"Well me and my dad are from Eddy Village in the West Blue, but we just came here from the Grand Line." Cloud said nonchalantly making Robin widen her eyes. 'A Grand Line pirate crew? Ture I only little knowaladge of the Grand Line but everyone knows it's a pirates graveyard, the dangerous sae in the entire world, a place where pirate crews dissapear never to be heard from again, and only the strongest survive that chaos. Just how strong is Shanks and his crew?'

"My dad says Eddy village has the best sake in the world, even on the Grand Line and that's why where here. Sometimes we come back here just to get more and go back." Cloud said like it was nothing, but to Robin it sounded crazy 'To come all they way from the Grand Line to the West Blue just for acohol. Why not just order it?' Robin thought as Cloud could see the look of disbelief on her face making him laugh a bit.

"I know it's strange to think about, but that's just how dad is hehe." Cloud said leaning his hand on one hand while looking in Robins blue piercing blue eyes.

"So that means you've sail the Grand Line." Robin said staring at Cloud while he had his smile on his face "Yep" Cloud said.

"Then your father must have a strong crew." Robin said thinking abut all the stories she heard about the Grand Line and the kind of monsters call that place home.

"Oh yeah there strong. BUT!" Cloud said with a look of confidence overcoming his face along with his winnig smile that went ear to ear "Im going to be stronger than all of them. Including my dad, and just like him the whole Grand Line is going to know my name, but because im Shanks son. It's going to be because of my own strength!" Cloud said making Robin widen her eye's while thinking 'The ease and confedence in which he saya that makes me want to believe he can do excatly what he just said.

"Well... I'll root and believe in you all the way." Robin said with her own smile that made Cloud blush, but gain power from hearing Robin tell him she believes in him.

"Then in that case im going to train extra hard so I don't let you down, and if you have a dream I'll do everything I can to help you get it. Oh here. I notcied you didn't have that much money so you can have this as a gift, and don't worry about paying me back since me dad gives me an allowence even though he pays for everything for me." Cloud said as he pulled our a huge wad of beli from his pocket and gave to Robin before hugging her and walking out of the bar, but he didn't get far beacuse Robin called out to him making him turn around only to be hugged again by Robin but this time she kissed his cheek while saying 'thank you' and walking away leaving a hard blushing Cloud touching his cheek in the place Robin kissed him.
