An attack?

Entering his classroom, Volom saw that his class was about to start and he had just managed to enter in the nick of time. He quickly made his way to his seat and listen to the class.

It was in the school where he felt the safest since the school was a government school and those gangsters would have no way of coming into the school to attack him.

It was during the break time that he realised that the idea of the school being a safe house would be mere illusion.

During break time, Volom decided to eat his lunch at a secluded area of the canteen while carrying his bag which contains the grimoire at the behest of Ipos.

"Contractor, you should be more careful. The grimoire has unique functions. For example, if there are nearby contractors, the magic circle on the book will start to blink. Look just like that."

Just as Ipos was teaching the importance of keeping the grimoire close to him, the magic circle at the front of the book started to light up for real and both Volom and Ipos started to focus and started to scan the surroundings but they could find nothing out of the ordinary.

All they managed to see were some students eating their lunch, students playing basketball in the basketball court and birds flying in the sky coming straight TOWARDS them.

Seeing the birds flying towards them set the alarm bell off in Volom's head and he quickly ran off into the school building just right before seeing all the birds changing direction towards him.

Turning his head back to see the sharp beaks of the birds aiming at his back, Volom ran off at even faster speed to an empty classroom and slammed the door shut.
