Lawyer

Alex was smiling at a young woman with long dark brown hair that was tied behind her head in a high pony-tail and focused his gaze on her eyes that were framed by rather large and thick-framed glasses.

They suited her well.

Her puffed small rosy cheeks made her face roundish while her body was clearly fit and slim. Her dark brown eyes looked back at him with curiosity.

"Are you certain, Sir? There are so many others in our firm that have more experience than me."

Looking around Alex could see many people in suits having a phone in their hand and talking on it. Others had mountains of paperwork on their desks.

The only one that had everything cleaned and sorted on the table was this woman in front of him. A nameplate indicated her being Jeong Seo-Yoon.

The thing was there was a clear added pate right next to the name that indicated her being a sort of trainee. She was completely inexperienced.

"Well, then today will be your lucky day, Ms...Jeong. You can simply see this as an opportunity to gain some experience I guess?"

Then Alex smiled again and handed her some documents he retrieved from the administration. included in that were also the documents that were given to him by Mr. Kim.

She nodded and took the papers.

"I want you to sort all legal matters in these documents. Please investigate as well as assess my situation."

"What is the rough situation, sir?" Seo-Yoon smiled and seemed rather happy to have her very first own task. Normally people would never come close to an inexperienced person when dealing with the legal aspect and would prefer people that could get the job done.

But she herself thought she can handle it just as fine and only needed a chance to prove herself.

"My guess is someone scammed my deceased grandmother and now tries to pry that pseudo dept onto me because I inherited some of her assets. Well, at least that is my take on it. It is the reason why I would like to have a thorough investigation into the matter while handling this.", answered Alex truthfully and back into the chair.

"Do you have some information on the law firm that claims these charges?" She asked again while skimming through the documents. Not seeing anything about who supported them.

"Right..." Alex took the card he kept from that guy out from his pocket and placed it on the table. "I still had the card he gave me..."

The woman's eyes enlarged when she read the name of the firm. There was a small frown forming on her forehead. And it destroyed the serenity on an otherwise beautiful face that had no clear wrinkles of any kind.

"The firm is a rather large one in Seoul, Sir...I ask again. Are you sure you want ME to take care of this task?" The smile that she gave Alex at that moment looked like she lost all hope to win the case from the very moment she read the name on the card. She probably even hoped he would stop that action and reconsider.

But Alex was determined to keep going and the woman could only curse her bad luck in life.

"Yes, I am pretty sure.", responded Alex.

"Would it not be better to give this task to one of our veteran lawyers here? Please reconsider that option..."

"No, it´s fine. I have the feeling you are very capable and therefore I would like you to take the reins in this case." Alex just smiled back and the woman knew that it was not changeable. Her very first case would probably become a failure.

She sighed a little and then handed him her own contacting card.

"Then, please take this and remember the contacts on it so that I may contact you after I am finished with preparations. It will take a few days until I can say for certain what is going on in your case.

"Thank you very much. I would appreciate that. And don't stress yourself too much. I am not trying to win by all means. Just find out everything that you are able to." Alex stood up with that sentence and started walking away. "Goddbye~ Until next time, Miss Jeong."

Seo-Yoon was surprised by his words but also confused at the same time. Then her confusion became fury and anger.

She was irritated that this client of hers was just not giving much thought about her career and even didn't want to win in the first place. She could only sigh and still try her hardest no matter what.

Still, her irritation did not vanish as fast as it came. The very first impression she had about her client was a much better one than now. At first, she felt lucky that such a handsome man was actually giving her a chance. Now she was not even considering his appearance and cursed him.

She came to the conclusion that all such people are just pricks. No matter what.

Alex himself did not even bother about it. When he was back outside the building on the street he was already thinking about something else.

His phone was currently assaulted with at least 13 different messages from the Korean Hunter Association about different gates searching for E rank hunters.

You may say what you want and even though E rank is the lowest rank of awakened they sure are being demanded by excavation groups...

There was actually still an assault group searching for more people of any rank. Since Alex did want to get a little bit stronger first and see how he fared against monsters, he chose to join an assault group for a C rank gate.

He had the feeling he could handle himself somewhat. But maybe he was also a little bit too cocky. Whatever may be the case he did not want to start off with an excavation mission.

Collecting data about the Strength differences of gates was the most important factor right now. And starting with a low-rank gate would be useless. So a middle-class gate should be a good starting point.

Alex was also sure he would trash an E rank gate on his own...Just thinking about Jin-Woo beating the snot out of those steel fangs with his stats at 10 was already a dead give away. And who knew what rank they even were. Probably higher than E.

He would make sure to make his own ranking system as soon as he experienced all gates.

Alex even wondered why there was no F Rank anyway.
