Chapter: 10

Crap.

Jin-Woo also noticed the spike turned and shouted at the Hunter Association.

"Mr. Ahn! Contact the main strike force right now!!"

Then we were forced through the gate completely. Appearing in the dungeon and looking around I realized that we were in a snowy forest.

"Where are we?!"

"This doesn't look like a dungeon!"

"And the gate's disappeared!"

Hmm, this is another dimension I wonder.

I closed my eyes and then spread my sensory abilities throughout the dimension finding multiple life forces surrounding the raiding party.

"Something's gone wrong hasn't it?" the girl who was with Jin-woo asked Jin-woo.

Before Jin-woo could answer he had to catch an arrow aimed at the girl. Unfortunately, not everyone was so lucky as an arrow hit a Hunter that was behind me—causing everyone else to panic.

"Up there in the trees!"

"They're the ones attacking us!"

Up in the trees were humanoid beings with blue skin, white hair, and long elven ears.

"Ice elves?!"

I see so these are Silad's minions ice folk. I sighed in annoyance.

"Some of you might have noticed by now, but we're inside a red gate. That means nobody can enter this dungeon until all of us die, or a dungeon break causes the gate to open."

Hearing this caused the hunters to panic sans Jin-woo, myself, and the girl brother was with, most likely because she didn't understand the situation. Proving my point she asked.

"Mister, what's a red gate?"

"It's a special gate that connects to another dimension. Once you step foot inside a red gate, you become completely cut off from the outside world, which means you won't be able to get any help. There's no escaping unless the boss is defeated, or a dungeon break occurs. In other words, we're stranded here."

Well everybody else is stranded here I can leave if I feel like it thanks to dimension magic.

'Master.'

'Yes Uriel.'

'Do you need my assistance?'

'No that won't be necessary just continue leveling up your skills unless I call for you.'

'Understood.'

"Let me introduce myself again. My name is Kim Chul, and I'm A-rank." the leader of the raiding party said.

"Now that everyone knows we've entered a red gate, I'll see to it that we make a safe return! But I'm not going to stand here and make promises I can't keep. We'll have to wait many months for a dungeon break to occur, so there's no guarantee all of us will be able to survive until then."

"The minimum difficulty level of a red gate is B-rank. In a place as dangerous as this, it'll be difficult to manage all of you in a single unit…"

'The gate might be a higher level than B-ranked.'

"Which is why I'm going to form a separate team to clear the dungeon with me."

Is this idiot high or something?

"If we stay here, we'll either freeze to death or be ambushed by those creatures again. Even if nobody wants to join my team, I'll get out of here by clearing this dungeon by myself. Who's with me?"

After the question multiple Hunters started to join him however he pushed back a couple of them back.

"You're out."

He then pointed at four other Hunter's brother and the girl he was with included then said.

"I'm sorry C-ranked hunters or lower can't come with me. One day inside a red gate is equivalent to one hour in real-time. If worse comes to worst, it'll take us months to defeat the boss. We may even have to wait just as long for the dungeon to break open. Under these circumstances, I can't afford to bring along any dead weight."

Wow, add asshole to the list too.

Of course, none of the C-ranked hunters liked that at all.

"Did you just call us dead weight.?"

"Don't be too upset. If you're still alive when we defeat the boss, you'll be able to make it out too."

"But still…"

"Excuse me." a female voice called out

It was a young woman with bright green eyes and long black hair. she wielded a small yellow staff and wore a white shirt with large poofy sleeves, a golden wing-shaped shoulder pauldron, black pants, and white boots.

"Would it be ok if I went with those guys instead?"

The question must have thrown Chul for a loop seeing the confused look on his face.

"... as you wish."

"Yeah, I going to join them as well," I said walking over to where my brother was.

The action must have thrown him further into a loop confused as to why two B-ranks wouldn't join him shaking out of his thoughts as he spoke.

"Now that spots on my team have opened up, I'm willing to take one more person. Just one."

"M-me I'll go with you." one of the C-ranked hunters said walking over to Chul.

The B-ranked mage walked past Jin-woo and said.

"Kim Chul… didn't even see the arrow that was shot at us. You're not actually an E-ranked are you?"

Oh, so someone else sees it.

"Then late I ask you something to you too. You guys are all new recruits. How are you all so calm right now?" he asked.

"Because the first thing we learned was that anything can happen inside dungeons. Kim Chul in particular underwent special training, since he's set to join the White Tiger Guild's elite strike squad."

"We're following this path." Kim Chul said referring to the path behind them.

"We'll head into the forest then," Jin-woo said referring to the forest behind us.

"Good luck." Kim Chul said turning and walking away with his group.

"You too," Jin-woo said walking as we walked into the forest.

A little bit into walking into the forest later the mage started up a conversation back up with brother.

"Hey, you never answered my question."

"My rank who's to say."

20 minutes of walking later the mage suddenly shouted for us to stop.

"We can't go any further than this."

"Why's that?"

"You see over there! This place is plastered with territorial markings!" she said pointing over to the trees.

"This place is an Ice bear habitat! We have to turn back right now before magic beasts start gathering here."

That logic doesn't make any sense does she realize that?

"So this area is full of Ice Bears is that what you're saying?"

"Yes, s-so we should turn back as soon as-"

She was cut off when Jin-woo spoke again.

"That's precisely why we should go further into the forest."

"What? Didn't you hear what I just said?"

"No, he heard you but your logic falls short," I said walking up next to Jin-woo

"Wha-what?"

Jin-woo decided to continue his explanation.

"If this place is bear territory, that means as long as we're in this forest, the only enemies we have to worry about are the bears. They are much easier to handle than those clever Ice Elves."

Then a look of realization crossed her face.

"Why didn't I think of that?"

Jin-woo and I kinda just shrugged at the question then Jin-woo asked.

"By the way aren't you cold in that outfit?"

"Inventory," he said reaching into the air and pulling out a fur coat.

"Everyone put these on," he said handing out the coats.

"I can't have you all freezing to death before we can even get to fighting magic beasts."

Oh, using inventory I see since no one else can see it but him.

"Spacial magic!?" the mage asked surprised.

After this, the other hunters started questioning in confusion.

"Mister, what's your deal?" the girl asked

I really need to learn this girl's name.

Jin-woo placed his hand on her head and then said.

"I dragged you into this so I'm going to protect you. In return don't ask me any questions."

He then turned to the other hunters and said.

"The same goes for the rest of you. Don't ask me anything and don't expect anything from me."

Hmm makes sense he doesn't want any issues cropping up after all- hmm we have company.

Turning around I saw an Ice bear trying to sneak up on us Jin-woo noticed it as well and he turned around and the other hunter noticed as well.

"Where did that come from?!"

"It's…an Ice Bear!"

And with that, the hunters started panicking but I simply strolled forward till I was in front of the Ice Bear and I heard the mage shout.

"What are you doing are you insane."

"I prefer the term mentally challenged,"

I said with an amused look on my face of course they couldn't see that since my mask was covering my face. Behind me, the Ice Bear swung its paw at me which I simply stepped out of the way off. Turning to face the bear once more I blitzed the bear at such high speeds that not even Jin-woo couldn't see it. I placed my palm on the bear's chest and then spoke.

"I'm going to need you to rot away now, Rot Attack."

After saying the name of my skill my palm glowed purple and the entire top half of the bear disappeared alongside some of the canopies of the trees behind it. Seeing this a shocked look crossed everyones face.

Oops, I might have overdone it.
