3 Mountain Of Return

"Looks like the fun is about to start," Majin said with a psychopathic smile, his pupils shifting from brown to red as fire erupted from his hands.

Majin formed a ball of fire in his right hand and hurled it toward the goblin that had thrown the axe at him. Although the fireball did not kill the goblin, it instantly scorched the skin off its entire face.

"Kcheeeeeeeeee," the goblin shrieked in pain and agony. It fell to the ground, covering its disfigured face with its hands. The other two goblins rushed to its side to check if it was severely injured.

"Tch! It didn't kill it," Majin thought, slightly annoyed. He then activated the "law of air" to propel himself backward, leaping towards the tree where the axe was stuck.

He yanked the axe from the trunk without hesitation and used the law of air again, this time propelling himself toward the distracted goblins. Soaring more than 12 feet in the air, he landed and simultaneously slashed off the head of one goblin in a clean, swift motion.

Blood spurted from the severed neck, painting the leaves on the forest floor a stark red as the body collapsed.

Majin was able to cut down the head of that goblin so easily because even though he just awakened today, the Awakeners Academy taught all of its students about the weak points of monsters and how to easily kill them. The weak points of goblins are always their heads.

Seeing their companion fall, the other goblin, who had been tending to the one with the burned face, tried to attack Majin. However, When Majin was still mid-air, he conjured another fireball. The ball of flame struck the goblin's face, charring it instantly.

Slash

"It wasn't really that hard," Majin muttered under his breath as he slit the throat of the goblins whose faces were burned by his fire balls.

Because of it they couldn't resist since even their eyes and ears were charred, leaving them unable to see or hear anything.

"I should have used more mana," Majin thought as he kicked the corpses of the goblins out of his way. He didn't know why, but when he awakened his class, all the information about it had flowed directly into his mind.

Using the "heavenly laws" wasn't that difficult for Majin; he just had to think about which law to activate and then envision what he wanted to do with it.

For example, to create fireballs after activating the law of fire, he only had to imagine a ball of fire appearing in his hand.

However, the thing is, while using the laws, Majin has to stay very focused, or else he might lose control over them and could get himself injured.

The power of the attacks made by the laws depends on how much mana you use and the level of the law.

Right now, all the laws Majin can use are at level 1 and are as strong as an E-rank hunter's attack, though their power can be increased by putting more magical power/mana into them.

So if he had used more mana into making the fire balls might have been able to kill the goblins as soon as the fire balls hit them.

As for what the levels in laws are? They simply show how proficient one is in controlling the laws. Their level will increase if Majin continues to use them or connects with them over time.

"I guess the 'Heir of Heavenly Laws' is a cultivation category class," Majin muttered as he tried to climb a tree but failed on his first attempt. Frustrated, he then used the law of air to boost his jump, grabbed a branch, and hauled himself up.

In this world, classes are generally divided into two categories: "The Instant Classes" and "The Cultivation Classes." Instant classes are those in which the awakener can harness all the power of his class in less than a year and reach full potential swiftly.

Cultivation classes, however, are where an awakener grows stronger gradually, amassing mana and expanding their mana pool or their knowledge over time. These classes are rare since they appear randomly without any predictable pattern.

It might happen that one century could witness thousands of awakeners with cultivation classes, while another might not see a single one.

Despite taking time to reach their peak, cultivation classes are considered superior to instant classes, as even the weakest awakener of a cultivation class starts at a B rank, with many advancing to A ranks and even S ranks.

"Looks like I'm in luck today," Majin exclaimed as he spotted a large mountain some kilometers away from his current position—the Mountain of Return.

From what Majin knows, this whole dungeon is just a test from the academy and the guilds.

To pass this test, you need to either stay alive for a week or so or exit the dungeon using a rune teleportation gate guarded by an entire army of goblins and many other monsters.

That rune teleportation gate was in the mountain that Majin could now see.

''Let's get this done quickly... I have other things to work on,'' Majin said as he used around half of his mana to activate the law of air and fly towards the Mountain of Return.
