As soon as Majin awakened his talent, a status window appeared in front of him, overflowing with tons of information about the use of laws. Despite the flood of knowledge, Majin felt no pain or discomfort.

It was as if he were learning something at an incredibly fast pace, understanding everything effortlessly.

The transmission of information lasted only a few seconds before it ceased. As soon as the flow of information stopped, Majin's body glowed with a light for a few seconds before returning to normal.

"One more awakened!" Professor Gu exclaimed joyfully, as today alone, about 50 students had already awakened at their academy—a significant achievement in itself.

The academy could not afford awakener stones and had to rely on sponsorships from various guilds, mostly top-tier ones, which expected positive results. If the academy failed to awaken students, it would have to bear the cost of the awakener stones.

This was a considerable challenge since the academy needed hundreds of awakener stones each year, each costing tens of millions of gold coins.

Although this might seem insignificant to the guilds, it is a substantial amount for the academy.

"What is your class, Majin?" Professor Gu asked excitedly as he approached Majin.

In this world, there are many more classes than those shown in the original Solo Leveling. There exist the Archmage, the Saint, the Berserker, the Tamer, and many other new classes.

Another notable aspect is that when one awakens their talent, they can see a status window that shows the name of their class, its abilities, etc. However, the status window Majin saw was even more detailed as it also displayed his lifespan.

"It's the Archmage class, professor," Majin replied almost immediately, which initially shocked every professor in the hall, but then smiles full of joy spread across their faces.

To understand why they are so pleased, one needs to realize that the Archmage class is considered one of the most powerful among the nearly countless classes that exist in this world.

It is so powerful because an Archmage can use magic, runes, and even enchant their body, making them a class superior to all others, though there are some classes considered on par with it.

But the plot twist is that Majin isn't an Archmage. In fact, he doesn't even have a magic-related class. So why is he lying to the professors?

The answer is simple: he isn't foolish enough to go around yelling and announcing to the world that he has a class that has never appeared in the history of mankind.

He would likely be targeted by opportunistic alchemists or hunters because of his unique class. Yet, why did he choose to claim he was an Archmage?

It's because his actual class, "Heir of the Heavenly Class," is most similar to the Archmage class in terms of their abilities to manipulate elements and other similarities.

Thus, it would be challenging for anyone to differentiate between the two classes, and of course, his class is undeniably superior to that of an Archmage.

"Are you telling the truth?" one of the professors rushed toward Majin and asked. It's not that they distrust their students.

But they always verify whether a student might be lying or not because, after awakening, each student is sent to an academy dungeon to experience what it means to be a hunter and learn how perilous battling monsters can be.

"Yes, Professor Kim," Majin said with a face that screamed he could never lie, though it was just for show.

"Majin, you have to join my clan!" Seo-jin suddenly appeared behind Majin and exclaimed in a quite loud voice. When he heard that Majin had awakened as an Archmage, he was probably the happiest person in the hall at that time.

Because Seo-jin belongs to the Seo clan, which is quite strong in their area and might have as much wealth as some mid-tier guilds, they were kind of a big deal.

And Seo-jin had been trying to get Majin to join his clan ever since they became friends, as he believed Majin would awaken a powerful talent—given that top students at the Awakener Academy have a higher chance of awakening a powerful talent compared to ordinary people.

"Don't start with that again," Majin said in an irritated tone, clearly tired of Seo-jin's persistent attempts to coax him into joining his clan, which Majin of course would never do.

"What class did you awaken, anyway?" Majin asked, looking Seo-jin in the eyes. Honestly, Majin hadn't really been able to hear what talent Seo-jin had announced when he told the professors about his awakening.

"It's the Rune Master," Seo-jin said proudly. Even though the Rune Master class wasn't as strong as the Archmage class, it was one of the best classes for earning money since Rune Masters are the ones who create magic scrolls, teleportation scrolls, and the like.

"Oh!" Majin replied, originally unshocked since, in this world, classes often appeared within people of the same lineage, like the Seo clan, which is famous for being a clan of Rune Masters.

That's one reason they were so wealthy. However, Majin acted genuinely surprised to keep the conversation light.

"EVERYONE HEAR ME! THE ACADEMY'S DUNGEON WILL OPEN SOON, AND ALL OF YOU WILL ENTER IT!" Suddenly, Majin heard the voice of a professor, who stood at the center of the hall.

The professor was quite muscular, which made sense since he was responsible for teaching students about being tankers and related roles.

"HUH! It wasn't just a rumor!"

"What am I going to do now?"

"I don't want to die!"

As soon as the muscular professor made the announcement, many students who had awakened a weak or subpar class began to yell, creating havoc in the hall.

Their reactions were justified, as anyone would react similarly if told they would have to fight monsters in a dungeon just after awakening their talents.

But Majin and Seo-jin weren't really shocked, as they already knew something like this would happen and that they would have to go into the dungeon. The teleportation gate used to connect a dungeon to the academy was built by the Seo clan, since they are the only Rune Master clan and one of the funders of the academy.

Sigh

"Pathetic," Majin muttered under his breath as he watched the other students yell and wreak havoc. To him, it seemed truly pathetic to cry over every inconvenience.

"This guy would be dead if we were still following the laws from the pre-modern era," Seo-jin commented to Majin, a smirk full of mockery on his face.

Before modernization, children like them were treated almost like cannon fodder. They were sent to fight monsters as early as eight years old and even participated in wars against other human nations.

Back then, humanity was far from united. The divisions were so profound that humans nearly lost half of the world to monsters. Ongoing wars with monsters for more land meant that even children had to fight for their motherland.

It was only after a concerted effort towards modernization that humanity united, at least temporarily. They launched repeated attacks against monsters, reclaiming their territories, and subsequently, laws concerning the rights of children and human rights in general were established.

According to these modern laws, a child who is above 15 is considered an adult. However, before turning 15, no child can be forced to fight monsters, although if a child wishes to fight of their own accord, the situation is regarded differently.

"Let's enter it," Majin said to Seo-jin before walking toward the dungeon entrance. They entered without any professors stopping them, as the guilds that funded the academy for awakening crystals were keen to observe how the students performed in this environment. The results would influence their decisions to recruit certain students.

Another underlying reason for sending students into the dungeon was population control.

As Majin stepped into the dungeon, he was greeted by a vast forest. It was so expansive that all he could see were trees stretching endlessly into the distance.

Swhoosh!

Suddenly, an axe was thrown at Majin, but he managed to dodge it just in time. Had he not, it would have split his head in two.

Turning his head toward the direction from which the axe had come, Majin saw goblins wielding weapons like small daggers and axes. Despite this being his first real-life encounter with such creatures, Majin didn't react much, nor did he feel any fear.

"Looks like the fun is about to start," Majin said with a psychopathic smile, his pupils shifting from brown to red as fire erupted from his hands.
