5 Arrival

"Let's go."

An hour later, Perseus was finally prepared to go for his rank evaluation. As the son of the 1st Rank Hunter in the world, his image represented both the Scavenger Guild and his father. Hence, Thomas Andre invited the world's most renowned fashion designer to hand craft his attire just for this event.

A/N: I know fuck all about fashion so if yall have any comments feel free to let me know. Thanks :)

"Good luck."

Nodding back at his father, he followed Laura to the rooftop.

Normally, he would have gone by car, but he was supposed to take a helicopter because of the huge crowd. After all, it was world wide news that the only son of the 1st National Level Hunter was taking his Rank Evaluation today, and the surroundings of the association was surrounded by people and reporters from various countries all wanting to catch a glimpse of Perseus. Although Thomas Andre had openly admitted that he had a son, only high level executives of the Scavenger Guild had seen him before. As for the public, it was safe to say not even a picture of him exists on the internet.

The helicopter flew up quickly, less noisy than expected. The helicopter equipped with the Gates technology of the Scavenger Guild had a performance and appearance that could only be seen in sci-fi. The stealth feature was the most shocking. It was real stealth. It disappeared not only from human view but also from radars.

A/N: Something like a chameleon's camouflage

It could fly for an absurdly long time as it utilised magic crystals instead of oil or fuel. Even the noise was quieter than that of a car. However, It wasn't an official product. There were still some parts where the Gates technology was unstable; and no one wanted to buy an expensive product that endangers their lives.

Especially in the case of magic crystals. It was almost impossible to process them, so it was difficult to find suitable ones. It was only possible only because of the Scavenger Guild's backing.

The inside of the helicopter was comfortable. Perseus had a private space that wasn't quite at the level of a hotel room. There was also a TV mounted on the wall, so he turned it on.

It was broadcasting about his rank evaluation and what experts were estimating on.

The camera also swept over those sitting in the audience from time to time. Not only the Secretary of State but also famous entrepreneurs were also present.

Soon, The helicopter landed on the runway dedicated to Thomas Andre. It was always ridiculously big. Of course, the Chairman of the America Hunter's Association was there to meet him in advance, and there was also a person he hadn't seen before. He had good bearings and seemed to be a soldier.

"How are you? I am Andrew Smith, the Colonel General of the United States Army."

The Colonel General of the U.S Army is a very high rank and is only below the General of the Army. There were four stars on his shoulders, swords drawn inside the star to differentiate him from ordinary officers. Anyway, it was a little confusing to see such a high-ranking person before him. Prerseus' expression slightly clouded up, and the Chairman broke into a cold sweat when he saw it.

"Ah…t-that's because General Smith said it would be polite to greet you in advance…"

"I see."

It was an unscheduled meeting. Seeing the Chairman's face turn pale, the meeting seemed to have been arranged by force. The general had a status that was hard to ignore, and the chairman was unable to refuse.

But now, a person who was like a king when he was in the army, politely clasped his hands in front of him. And he was even a four-star general. General Smith was surprised to see Perseus' expression and politely greeted him.

"I'm sorry if I was rude. After all, I wanted to meet you once…"

"It's not like that at all."

"Haha! You have such a big heart. I'm honoured to meet you. Looking at Mr. Perseus, I think the future of America is bright."

A/N: I wanted to use Mr. Andre but that would be his dad.

The General was in a cold sweat. Perseus was making even the general nervous. Being at S Rank, he was able to feel Perseus' overwhelming mana wavelength, and couple with such a background, he had to treat Perseus like the President himself.

Perseus moved to the examination centre under the guidance of the general and dozens of soldiers with them.

The atmosphere was the same as always. Burdensome flattery lingered in Perseus' ears. While growing up, he had heard enough from his father's aides and guild's shareholders.

The Chairperson and General Smith got along very well. It was the peak of flattery. As he kept listening, he didn't feel repulsed at all. Now that he was used to it, he just listened.

'Still, is it okay for a four-star general to do this?'

There was no reason to stop him from doing so voluntarily. To do this to Perseus wasn't a humiliation but an opportunity since his father was quite literally the law of America. They slowly moved to where the rank evaluation test was conducted.

As they slowly approached the evaluation centre, a magnificent music blare sounded from somewhere. It was the sound of music that could often be heard in the military. When he looked around, he saw people in uniforms playing. It was a military band.

'Good Luck to Perseus Andre's first rank evaluation.'

-American Hunter's Association –

There was a placard with a huge hibiscus flower and the North America Continent underneath. On it was written.

'We pray for your success from the bottom of our heart.'

-White House Secretary-

It was a series of surprises. The names on the wreaths were also not normal. All of them were from powerful people in America. There was the White House Secretary and even a chief senator, but Perseus had already gotten used to it.

"Are you tired? I will take you to the waiting room."

General Smith spoke.

There was a separate entrance for Perseus. As they walked past the military band to the doorway, Hunters were standing by in uniform. It was nothing compared to the Scavenger Guild's uniform, but it was still pretty cool. The silver sword decorated with a hibiscus flower was impressive.

"Present!! Sword!"

"Arms!"

They pulled out their swords and saluted towards the Perseus' entourage. To be precise, they saluted at Perseus. The Commander didn't forget to take a salute and glanced at Perseus to look at his expression. He had more meticulous flattering skills than even the Chairman.

Perseus was a little impressed. But he didn't show it on his face.

"…"
