6 SL $ystem! Merging

Hello dear readers! Here is an early chapter to compensate for the previous late release. Hope y'all enjoy it!

As soon as Nix entered the trial room the whole atmosphere changed, the earlier creepy room got way more scary and the entire air felt alive as the flames lit up in quick succession.

The dying silence is a reminder of the chaos to come in a few moments.

Nix took a closer look at the statues, they looked completely lifeless and had an ancient vibe to them with signs of damage and the growth of moss-like plants on them.

They all held different things, some held swords or spears while some held different musical instruments.

All their armored bodies were decorated with intricate patterns, and one gatekeeper looked particularly fearsome resembling a particular dark lord from Middle Earth holding a mace.

There was one statue that stood out amongst all the others, even while sitting on a throne it was taller than the rest.

His gigantic form served as a reminder of the battle ahead.

He decided to check their stats window to see if he could battle against them if things went south.

Looking at the status windows of the statues Nix knew he wasn't even close enough to even think about fighting one of these.

They could count as boss monsters at these crazy levels and skills.

As he was thinking about these things an unexpected message appeared before him.

{A glitch in the system has been detected!}

{The user would be awarded appropriate rewards after consideration.}

{Yggsrasil will update in 15 minutes and the servers will be shut down temporarily.}

Reading the contents of the message Nix decided to hurry up and finish the trial quickly.

He quickly went towards the acting Architect, then as he was about to read he remembered he couldn't read runic language.

Then one of the NPCs came forward and spoke.

[Carthenon Temple's Commandments]

["First, worship the lord."]

["Second praise the lord."]

["Third prove your faith."]

Then there was a small pause which seemed to last forever, as the air got colder and heavier as the last comment was spoken.

["Those who do not follow these commandments, will never return alive."]

As the NPC finished speaking the doors closed loudly. The NPCs suddenly went out of control and started screaming.

Nix was surprised by this development, now he couldn't command them as he could before, making things a lot more complicated.

["The door's just closed!"]

["What do we do no--"]

["Dammit! I can't stand this anymore!"]

["All of you listen up! It's all your fault that we are in this situation! Who told you to risk all our lives fighting impossible to defeat a high-level monster for some meager amount of money!"]

["It was a mistake to even come here with this bastard! I am leaving!" You can take all the treasures for yourself!] 

Nix ignored the rest of the NPC's ramblings and cries as most of them died as soon as the giant crepy statue started shooting laser beams he bowed down.

The NPCs soon followed when they said that Nix was fine, but some dumb ones said they bowed their heads to o one and other dumb stuff needless to say they were disintegrated pretty quickly.

After bowing for a few seconds the giant statue smiled like a maniac which gave Nix shivers down his spine.

Seeing the real thing felt different, he snapped out of his thoughts when the giant statue got up and started to stomp NPCs to death.

He t told them to get to the statues with instruments if they wanted to live, some seemed hesitant at first but followed his advice nevertheless after seeing he was their best chance to survive.

Nix quickly ran towards the statue the OG got. After looking around he quickly found a statue of an angelic woman.

As he got close enough, it started singing. He deduced he had a bit of prep time seeing how the NPCs were busy arguing or sacrificing others or themselves.

Nix decided to cast some spells in the meantime but he found out that none of his holy spells worked he was worried as a ton of the spells he cast were holy.

He quickly caused one of his delayed holy spells

Which were working fine which meant that [Delay] magic somehow worked.

'Weird' he thought

After casting other spells he quickly drank a mana potion and a defense potion after which he sat down to watch their live drama for entertainment the final 6 survivors were chosen.

'Took them long enough.'

Then the creepy statue did his whole thing and the altar was raised, and all the statues started moving.

Nix took this queue and ran towards the alter, which caused a flame to appear. The rest followed him after seeing that he was their only chance of survival.

As they entered the fire was lit in an octagonal shape and a blue fire started burning out and the closed doors opened.

Which tempted them a little but they reminded themselves that it could be a trap.

"It's your chance to escape, leave before they reach us," said Nix.

"No, we can't do that, it was our choice to come here knowing something like this could happen and we intend to fight till our dying breath."

"No, that's pointless I was the one who got us all into this situation in the first place I have to take responsibility as the leader.

"No that...."

What followed was a quick but long conversation in which Nix was trying to persuade the NPCs to leave but they were so stubborn.

They said as a member of their honorable ancestors they would not run like cowards blah-blah-blah.

After bickering for a while he managed to persuade them into leaving. 

"We will never forget your brave sacrifice, sir!"

What Nix didn't realize was that the NPC's had thought him to be like the other players' greedy bastards who could do anything for power sacrificing their comrade's lives just to complete 'Quests'

But after the conversation their image of Nix had shattered, they had believed he would sacrifice them to escape but he did the opposite.

This painted Nix as a Hero ready to sacrifice his life for others.

They would not forget this and this is what would eventually save Nix's life in the future. 

Moving on now Nix was stuck in the same situation as the OG without any comrades to keep an eye on the evolved form of the doctor who weeping angles.

Then after thinking for a long time, he came up with a way to survive.

'How can I keep an eye on all the statues?' He thought but eventually came up with an answer.

The answer to this question was having companions or summons which Nix' had the spell already ready to use. Delay magic was a blessing to strategists like him.

Without wasting any more time he spoke

"[Delay Magic:- Release

(Boost Magic, Maximize Magic, Over Magic, Triplet Magic)]

[-Summon 5th Tier (Ophanim)-]"

A bright magic circle appeared from which emerged three circles made out of a gold-like metal with many circles inside it each with a ton of eyes on them.

After summoning them he cast all the buffs he knew which depleted him of all his mana and he had no potions left.

The statues stopped moving for a while but suddenly the Ophanim flew towards the statues and started attacking them.

Nix tried to stop them but they didn't listen to his commands. They did some damage to the statues but were soon killed.

Now Nix was in a very bad situation, to say the least without any way to survive but trusted his luck and decided to act.

He thought the worst that could happen was his death and loss of 5 levels but it wasn't much for him.

But if he knew that he would die if he died here he would have had very different thoughts.

The statues neared him he took out a normal-looking sword and taunted the statues.

"Come!" He shouted with all his strength.

The statue emotionally stabbed him with his giant spear. Which caused him a lot of damage.

{HP:-29/58[Bleeding(Critical):- User will lose 1 HP per second]}

The statue took out his spear which caused Nix to land on the altar with his blood flowing down like water.

"Hark!" He didn't know what happened but it felt like he was stabbed. He started breathing heavily fearing he would die.

A statue with a sword thrust it toward him and stabbed him straight in the chest.

"ARGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!"

The pain was intense but as some sort of a counter, his subconscious mind automatically cast the last spell he had saved.

'[Delay Magic:- Release

(Boost Magic, Maximize Magic, Over Magic)

-Greater Heal-]'

Just as his [HP] regenerated another statue was about to stab him when...

*FIRE DIES*

The last fire went out and time seemed to stop. A blue screen with a message appeared in front of him.

'Finally.'

'I thought I was going to die. That was way too close.'

'Am I dumb of course I accept!'

With that, Nix lost consciousness at this point nothing else should have happened but...
