2 Park Dokja

"Dokja! Hurry, it's going to get cold at this rate." Heejin shouted, a bit annoyed at her brother's attitude.

"Yeah, yeah, just a minute." His lackluster responses didn't serve to reduce the said annoyance.

A rather tall young man with black and blue eyes appeared not long after the noise of steps going down the stairs resonated. He was indubitably handsome and from his musculature, it was easy to deduce that he exercised often.

"Why do I have to keep calling you every morning? Can't you get down on your own?" She sighed seeing him just blankly staring at her.

"Nevermind, I don't care anymore." She just started eating ignoring him altogether.

Park Dokja looked at his sister also sighed in his mind, he did get used to it but it still was strange thinking about it.

His sister, Park Heejin, was a beautiful woman with black hair and green hair. By all means, she had the appearance to become a model and that she would have become if instead, she didn't become a hunter.

The two were not blood-related, he was adopted after his parent died in a gate break. He was fortunate to survive as he was only three years old then.

As for why he thought it was strange that was because this was not his first life, and in his past world, this one was considered fiction.

In a light novel that was then adapted in manhwa called solo leveling, said manhwa also was going to get an anime adaptation that he didn't have the luck to see before his death.

Anyway, this world was a very dangerous one and he didn't have any way to protect himself much to his displeasure. At least, he found solace in the fact that his sister was a hunter even if only a B-rank.

There is also the fact that this world had a protagonist, a son of fate if you will, and a pretty damn overpowered one, so he didn't worry too much about the planet or the universe being destroyed depending on which source the plot will follow.

Though he didn't like the final ending, and if he had the power to change it he would. Having Jinwoo go back in the past and battle the monarch of destruction which would erase the memories of almost everyone was not something Dokja was fond of.

"What?" Heejin asked with a frown. All this time Her brother was just staring at her for some reason without saying anything, it was creepy as hell.

"Don't go staring at people like that or don't get surprised if you ended with a restriction order." She huffed, no she was not particularly mean or anything it's just that brotherhood was like this.

"Restriction order? Hmph, don't kid me, I am well aware of my disposition. There is something called pretty privilege after all." He was not hypocritical, he knew he was physically gifted and he would be damned if he didn't take advantage of it if he could.

"Pretty privilege? Isn't that reserved for girls? How manly of you 'little' brother." She emphasized the little part as she spoke. The meaning was clear, I am the older one, so mind your words.

Well, not that Dokja really cared about such a thing, as if he were to add his past life age, he would be the older one.

"Orh, shut up, y'all are the ones advocating for gender equality even to this day when there is a threat more important to mind. Hypocritical."

"Bu-"

"I am not listening"

"..." Should she just hit him? She wondered for a second before dropping that thought, nothing good would from it, unnecessary violence was proof of one having a weak mind.

"..." Sighing she just went back to eating, she had a dungeon dive today and have to make sure she was ready.

...

Back to his room Dokja took his glasses and them on before sitting on the chair facing his computer. Reading about the different news concerning hunters in the world and particularly here in Korea.

He did that almost every day since a year ago, as from his estimation, the plot should start soon so he wanted to make sure to follow its progression. So he was on the lookout for news related to a double dungeon appearing.

After tens of minutes of looking through the net, he finally concluded that it wasn't today as well, and shut down the PC before sighing a put a hand on his forehead in exasperation.

The problem with this world was that there was no way to get stronger without becoming a hunter, and even if that was something he couldn't decide to become, it was up to luck.

And even if you were lucky enough to become one, nobody could tell whether you would become an S rank or an E rank, and the difference between the two was as a lion and a cat.

The weakest E rank was barely stronger than a peak human while the weakest S rank was strong enough to destroy buildings without much effort and move at a speed faster than sound.

"What to do?" Dokja wondered, yes, he knew this world had a somewhat happy ending, yet he still wanted to be able to do something, to change the world with his own hand. That was his ambition.

"Perhaps it's just too grand of an ambition." He shook his head. He hoped he would at least become a hunter. But turned out, luck was not on his father this time.

"Status?" Still nothing, he can't even recall how many times he tried already but it never worked.

"Those novels lied to me." He shook his head with a depressed smile. Who said that all reincarnator would get a system? or even a cheat?

"Someone out there? It doesn't even have to be a normal system. perhaps something like what the other guy will do with Jinwoo?" He didn't dare say Ashborn's name as names have power and someone as unfathomable as the personification of death would know if his name was said.

That guy was practically nigh-omnipotent in certain conditions.

[A chosen candidate has been detected. Your wish has been confirmed.]

"Seriously? That worked?" He wasn't surprised, he deadpanned as he saw a floating blue text before his face.

'What kind of timing was that?'

[You have been invited to Mercenary Group Chat. Would you like to accept?][Yes/No]

He didn't even think about it a clicked on yes, he would be stupid to pass this offer. He doesn't care whether this group chat was created by a god, a demon, or even an outer abomination. He just wanted something to change this insufferable situation of his.

He found it insupportable to just sit there and be able to do nothing on his own.

[Congratulation, you have become the first of the four admins of the group. You have been given the title Alpha.]

He read everything attentively as he analyzed the meaning behind those words.

[As a welcoming gift, your wish will be realized within the system's limitation.]

Wish? Did they mean when he was talking about Jinwoo and Ashborn?

[Please determine the template you want to inherit. The characters' power level has to be between 1 and 1000.]

[Note: if the chosen character's power level exceeds the given range, a random one would be selected by the system, prudence is advised.

Note 2: The meaning of those numbers has been purposely hidden due to system restrictions.

Npte3: It has to be a character you are familiar with to a reasonable degree.]

Hmm...

Dokja started thinking hard about the information he could deduce from the system until now.

First, he was one of the four administrators meaning there would be four more, and seeing how he received the title of alpha meaning "first' in greek, the others would receive something similar, and the last one would get omega as for the two others he didn't know.

Before that, it had been said that he was a candidate, which means that he had been listed and his profile had been analyzed by some beings or the system itself.

So it was definitely not a coincidence that he was chosen, as for the reason, he could think of a multitude of them, but nothing was sure yet.

Next, he obtained a welcoming gift, meaning others would also obtain one and it will likely have to do with what they wish for, just like him.

Keeping that in a part of his mind he continued on to the more important stuff.

A character template... He already knows what it was since he just read that much fanfiction, but he has no idea about the scope of power since that was almost impossible to know, all he could do was theorize.

"Let's assume that 1 is the power level of an adult human and 1000, a thousand times that. To choose one within such a parameter is not hard, but I have to make it so I don't regret it later, thus I need a character with not only present power matching that but also the potential of growth sufficient to take me far." He readjusted his glasses as his mind raced and searched through the panoply of potential characters he could use.

"Since I still prefer to be on the safer side, it wouldn't be wise to choose someone stronger than, let's say a B-rank hunter. Still, raw power aside, hax is also that important, and considering how haxed this world's Top level fighters are, I can't compromise on that."

"As for being familiar with said character... That can be tricky since the I interpret familiarity could be different from the system's standard."

1 hour passed as he mulled over and over again as to which character he could choose. Manga, anime, webtoons, light novels. He selected a couple of characters before comparing them.

But just when he was to decide he remembered something he shouldn't have forgotten. And with that, he smiled ear to ear.

'I have decided it will be you.'

He tapped a name.

[Please, create an accurate mental image of the character.]

Seeing that he started thinking and imagining hard about the character in question.

A couple of minutes later he opened his eyes to a new notification.]

[0%; 5%; 35%; 84%; 99%...100%]

[Name: Raiden Hyuga. Power Level: 859. Familiarity: 100%.]

[Creating template... successful.]

[To access the chat group and its different functions. Ethier thinks about doing so or calling out its name.]

"Yes! Damn Yeas!" He celebrated as he clenched his fist in joy. He wasn't sure it would work but it did! It really fucking did!

The reason why he wasn't sure was that that guy Rauden Hyuga was from a fanfic he created from his past life. So he didn't need to worry about the familiarity level, but he wasn't sure it would work because it was from fanfiction.

Turn out everything was fine, and as he expected, the guy's power level was within the given limit.

As for his abilities... Hehehe, just thinking about it, he was happy. Dokja in his past life was a fan of the overpowered trope. But since he wasn't sure he could write a character that was too op, he made it so the guy's ability would be developed and manifest overtime rather than from the beginning. All in all, this was a good choice. Plus chakra was damn versatile.

"Phew." After celebrating for a while, Dokja finally calmed down before opening the group chat menu with his thought.

5 seconds passed but nothing happened, surprised but not shocked, he decided to wait, perhaps it was not instantaneous and would happen over time, or perhaps there was some hidden condition, anyway, he would worry about it later, for now, he wanted to explore.

He tapped on an icon in the menu.
