Along the busy streets of Japan, a 15 year old boy was currently riding a taxi on his way home.

"Sigh... School, school, school. Do Hunters even have an age restriction for minors?"

Hunters...

It was about 10 years ago when these strange Gates started to appear around the world, they were basically like a door that separated the Human World from the Monsters that were inside those said Gates.

And as if to counteract this phenomenon, Humans started to awaken powers in order to kill those Dangerous Creatures. Hence the term "Hunters".

'Why can't I also have something like that, why does she have to be the only lucky one...' The boy, Kazuko, sighed as an image of his beautiful cousin appeared in his head.

Kanae Tawata. She was just one of the many strong Hunters in Japan. However, she was an S-Rank Hunter, a person with power comparable to an army of a Small Nation.

And she also happens to be the only family member of Kazuko Hasane, to be precise, Kanae was his cousin.

"Argh! I wouldn't be complaining if it wasn't for that damn Math subject! Shit!" Kazuko cursed silently. No matter how smart he was, it was still difficult to find what the letter X was if there was no reason Y.

"Sir, we have arrived." The voice of the old Taxi Driver called for his attention.

"Seems like she isn't home yet." Kazuko gave his fare to the old man before getting out of the taxi. However...

"Fuck! Hey Kid! Get out the way!" The loud voice of a middle aged man reached Kazuko's ears. It was then followed by the shout of the taxi driver from earlier. "Look out!"

"Oh my God! Oh my God! Someone call the Ambulance!"

'Uuhh...' The last thing Kazuko saw was the blurred image of an old man before everything went black.

The Draw Sword Guild...

It was the largest Guild in Japan consisting of more than 10 S-Rank Hunters.

"That is all fo-" The words of a handsome man with black back hair was interrupted by the ringing of someone's phone.

"Oh, sorry about that." Standing up from her seat was a tall red eyed woman with black tattoos on her arms and chest.

The young woman answered the phone while exiting the meeting room. "Hey look, if you want some-"

Contrary to her expectations, it was not someone who wanted to hire her to assist in a Dungeon Raid, rather, it was the voice of a Police officer situated near Saitama Prefecture.

[I am Officer Ashimoto from Saitama, does this number belong to the S-Rank Hunter Kanae Tawata?]

'What is this bad feeling...' Sensing that there might be something wrong, Kanae answered swiftly.

"Yes it is."

There was a moment of silence on the phone before the Officer spoke up. [I am sorry for disturbing you Ms. Hunter, but may I ask what relationship you have with Mr. Kazuko Hasane?]

'Did that kid do something stupid again?' Kanae sighed. "He is my cousin."

[I see...] The tone of Officer Ashimoto turned into that of sympathy. [I am truly sorry Ms. Hunter, but Mr. Hasane has been admitted to a nearby Hospital in Tokyo for extensive injuries caused by a Drunk Driving Incident.]

"What!?" Kanae couldn't hold in her shock, she knew that her cousin had a tendency to do some stupid things, but getting fatally injured was not one of them.

[Ms. Hunter?]

Kanae ended the call and sprinted towards the exit of the Draw Sword Guild, she didn't even inform her fellow Guildmates before blazing across the busy streets of Tokyo.

'Please be alright.' The well-being of her younger cousin was the only thing she could think of.

Right now, the unconscious Kazuko could be seen lying on a white clean bed inside one of the best and most expensive Hospital Rooms in Japan.

Well, considering who he's related with, it wasn't strange if he would be considered as a MVP a.k.a the Most Valuable Patient.

"Kazuko..." Kanae could only stare at her cousin who was lucky enough to survive getting hit by a truck despite him just being a normal Human.

Although some may say that it was strange for only Kanae and Kazuko to be the only surviving members of their family, it could actually be considered normal in this world filled with Gates and Dungeon Breaks.

It was about 5 years ago when the 2 cousins stayed in Japan while Kanae's father went to visit Kazuko's family who were currently living in the West Coast of America during that time.

Unfortunately, that was also the year when the world's first S-Rank Dungeon brought forth a calamity by the name of Kamish. Kanae and Kazuko's family were few of the many victims during that otherworldly massacre.

Kanae had just turned 15 a few months before everything happened. And despite their grandmother doing her best to raise the 2 kids, she also succumbed to death a year later at the ripe old age of 86.

However, as if to aid Kanae, the Heavens bestowed her with a powerful gift. She was awakened as an S-Rank Hunter.

Using her abilities she continued to provide Kazuko's needs while honing her skills by joining Japan's top Guild, the Draw Sword Guild.

And a few years later, she became one of the elite S-Rank Hunters in Asia.

But this situation right now...

"Please... please stay..."

No matter how strong she was, all she could do was grasp her cousin's hand and hope for the best.

But unbeknownst to anyone, Kazuko was actually alive and well. Although he was currently not in the Physical World.

No, he was in his own...

"Where the hell am I?" Kazuko's voice echoed through the endless darkness.
