9 - secret basement

"Oh yes sis, I was going to ask, do you have any useful weapons I could use?"

As both finished their food and placed it down on the table, she then looked at Mickaila with a smile on her face, "I thought you would never ask." She said excitedly.

Mickaila took that as a sign that she has something in store for him as he followed his sister who led the way to what seems like a ordinary room within the house, however it didn't have any windows, if Mickaila had to describe it then it's more like a mini library with several shelves full of books covering the whole wall except for the one that was facing the door on the opposite wall which contained a desk with a computer and in the middle of the room laid a table, big enough for a study group of around 8 people.

"Why did you take me here?" Mickaila asked unsure of why Rosalia would take her to a room full of books [i mean it's not like weapons would be left inside the books, would it?]

As Mickaila was contradicting himself, Rosalia giggled and went forward towards the shelf at the left of the door and pulled out a book halfway through, and with that single movement, that part of the book shelf began to shift and a computer like screen appeared as if it was a part of the shelf, Rosalia then typed in some symbols and gave a handprint and that was when the whole shelf started to move and a new passage was revealed from behind of where the book shelf was originally located before it moved away.

At both side of the passage laid a torch which lighted up revealing a long staircase that seems to lead them underground, it was a cold stone staircase but it doesn't seem old and it is nicely cleaned seeing how there wasn't any spiderwebs or bugs crawling around the place. Rosalia who was in front started to take the lead, she began to take a step forward and headed down the staircase first with Mickaila following close behind her.

As both were inside the stairway, the path back to the mini library was then blocked with what seems like another stone wall and if Mickaila had to guess, it must've been the original book shelf that moved back to its original place.

And without any hesitation, Mickaila just carried on walking forward following Rosalia closely and after a while of walking, they are finally faced with something different than a stone wall but instead, there at the end of the stairway revealed a blue door that had the same computer like screen which Rosalia took no time to unlock with what seems like a password and this time instead of scanning for her hand print, she scanned her eyes.

[well, it seems like this is very secretive especially seeing how there is so much layers of safeguard] Mickaila thought to himself. He wondered what can be at the other side of the door and was excited to find out what his sister had in store for him.

After the door was finally unlocked, it revealed on the other side a stunning discovery. Mickaila's eyes sparkled with how well the weaponry was displayed, it was like a secret basement full of different types of weapons from the easiest to handle to those of the most deadliest.

[wow, sis must be really rich to get a hold of these weapons] Mickaila thought whilst speechless to say anything to Rosalia who internally giggled with how dumbfounded her brother looks.

Mickaila's eyes wandered around the whole basement, weapons neatly placed in various places wondering what is the best to be used in battle against beast like monsters that he may encounter in the future.

Just as Mickaila was in deep thought as per usual, Rosalia gave a loud enough cough to catch his attention back, "you can take anything you want." She said and Mickaila happily nodded whilst he began to search the area of the most suitable weapons and put it in his inventory system.

As they were finally done, both exited the basement and locked the door behind them, "oh, yes. You can come here whenever you want, the password is your date of birth and the scan already has your intel." She said whilst Mickaila nodded thanking his sister.

"So it's already late now, you should go back to sleep." Rosalia said, "and make sure you wake up early." She joked which Mickaila just ignored it not wanting to remember what happened this morning and walked up into his room, locking the door behind him.

Whilst listening closely to his sister's footsteps disappearing into her room, Mickaila sneakily opened his bedroom door, checking whether the lights were off from his sister's room. When he was certain she was asleep, he too toed downstairs. Wearing his pair of shoes he exited the house with no one knowing.

Despite how Rosalia asked him to rest, he didn't have that decision in mind. Looking around the nightly surroundings, he thought that today was the best day to do a bit of hunting and test out his new weapons. And also gain some materials and coins along the way.

[system, locate all the monsters closes to us and also track the location of hunters so I won't run into them.] and with that a map like locator appeared in front of him, consisting of different colour looking counters that are currently moving around the place.

[The black counter is your location, the red ones are the monsters whilst the blue ones are the hunters and the white ones are normal civilians] Mickaila nodded listening closely to the system whilst checking his location and whether there was any hunters nearby.

But luckily for him, all the hunters that were nearby seems to be occupied.

[well, it's time for a hunt] he said excitedly as he hid his face under the pitch black hood ensuring that he cannot be identified by others and made his way out to locate his first prey!
