6 - we’re being followed

"Mickaila, what's that transparent screen thing in front of you?" Rosalia asked, a bit interested with why it was floating in front of his brother and more importantly why could she see it.

Mickaila looked at Roselia pointing at the screen in front of him, "you can see it?" He asked questionably, Rosalia just nodded waiting for her brother to answer, 'wait, system didn't you say that no one can see the screen unless it's me?' Mickaila questioned. 'Well, yes for non-hunters or gamers they wouldn't be able to see the screen.', 'so...' Mickaila probed, 'however for those who are awakened as hunters and that you have given them permission then they would be able to see it.' The system replied, 'when did I... oh never-mind.' He reiterated himself when remembering what he wished before about wanting his sister to see the screen acting as evident that he wasn't on drugs.

'Well, you should've at least told me that sooner.' Mickaila said sighing, 'well, I've told you now' the system replied.

[wow for a system, he sure has an attitude] Mickaila thought to himself.

'So then, does that mean she can hear your voice as well?' Mickaila asked quite interestingly, 'no, I am only reserved to serve the player so no one except you can hear me.' The system said.

'Furthermore for the people you recognise and have them sign a oath contract with you, you are then able to share your screen ability with them meaning instead of being a hunter, they would become a gamer.' The system added.

'Wow, that'll be cool!' Mickaila said excited that his sister can use the cheat as well.

'But first, what does the oath contract do?' Mickaila questioned not getting too ahead of himself.

'It is a contract signed to ensure they would never betray you or say a word of the system or else they would die and as long as they abide by the rules that was set on the contract, they would agree to the terms of transferring to a gamer like yourself however they would only have the status screen' whilst Mickaila nodded along with listening closely to what the system has to say.

And just as he was having an internal conversation with the system, Rosalia just stood there dazed unsure whether she should break the train of thought his brother seems to be going through, "cough... um, Mickaila?" She asked trying to get his attention.

And with that small gesture, her brother's attention was successfully placed on her, "Oh, yes sorry. Anyways, this was the system screen I was telling you about. Doesn't it look like a gamer's screen?" He said excitedly seeing how this is definitely an irrefutable evident that his sister cannot deny and also as proof of how he was telling the truth and that he wasn't on drugs although the zombie incidence could've been enough evidence.

"so... what you said before were all the truth?" She questioned whilst Mickaila just nodded confirming her suspicions.

"So the world is really going into chaos?" She asked once again trying to register all the information in.

"Yep" he simply answered.

And just like that Rosalia collapsed on the ground not believing the things that suddenly happened before her which were actually true and irrefutably real, not believing what her brother said were actually true despite saying he was taking drugs maybe a more believable solution however seeing how all these things happened one after another today before her own eyes, she cannot deny what her brother told her and the only option she had was to accept it.

By the time Rosalia faced her new reality and composed herself, Mickaila has took that time to check the materials the zombie dropped.

He then put it in his inventory whilst looking at the daggers, [at least we got some useful weapons] he smirked when seeing the daggers having the effect of decreasing his foe's speed which would be quite useful on occasions.

[it seems I would only gain basic points and Exp when killing monsters huh] he thought to himself as he searched through the screen checking whether he should use his basic points however his train of thought was cut short when he sensed someone coming closer and from the looks of it, it's a hunter.

Mickaila quickly grabbed his sister's hand and started running, putting his hood up so he cannot be easily recognised, whilst Rosalia was confused with the whole ordeal, "keep quiet, we're being followed." As they made their way out of the alleyway and towards town with the hunter straight behind their tail. "Act natural" Mickaila said to his sister as they tried to camouflage themselves with the crowd of people, standing side by side with each other and walking across the street pretending as if they were looking at the shops.

Soon the hunter appeared into town in search of something or someone, walking along the streets and just as He reached where Mickaila and Rosalia was, without noticing he passed them and went further away giving Mickaila a relieved sigh when the hunter was finally out of sight.

"Who was he?" Rosalia asked quite concerned, "did you do something for someone to come and find you?" Rosalia asked but then widened her mouth, "wait could it be debt collectors or something?" She asked shockingly whilst Mickaila internally face palmed himself.

[wow, why do I feel like I'm incompetent or something I'm looking after myself, sis always believes I'm doing something illegal for example the drug incident and now debt collectors? Are you freaking kidding me?]

But just then the only reply Mickaila could muster up at that moment was his laughter, "pft.... debt collectors?.... seriously?" He asked, "do you actually think I'll get myself into debt and even if I did where did I use all that money on anyways?" Rosalia thought to herself for a moment and then nodded, "yea you're right, if you got all that money, you would've spent it on food or something." She said, "yep exactly" he replied.

"So then, why were you hiding away from him?" Rosalia questioned.

Mickaila looked around his surrounding feeling it wasn't safe to talk out here under public eye, "I'll tell you when we get back." He said giving a serious look which only allowed Rosalia to abide to his wishes.

And with that they swiftly made their way back to their new resident without anyone noticing furthermore, certain that no one has followed them back here.

They quickly got inside and locked the doors before making their way to the living room, "so?" His sister probed him for an answer sitting down on her usual seat with her arms folded, "you see.. that was a hunter!" He replied, "why would a hunter follow us?"she questioned further.

"I'm guessing they were here for you." He replied, "me? Why?"

"Because now you are a newly awakened hunter"

"I'm a What?" She asked quite frustratedly.

"As I said you're a hunter"

"Yes I heard you the first time, I meant how?" She asked

"From what the system says, you've awakened as a hunter when you made your first monster kill but with my recognition, you also have a choice to become a gamer which can help improve your abilities to a further level and if you agree, sign this contract." he said as he gave a scroll like paper to his sister.

After reading through the contract which states she cannot betray Mickaila or mutter a word of the system or anything about gamers to others that don't know of it's existence. she then came up with the best option of the two after a long time of consideration, she signed it and with that the scroll burned way to seal the pact and if it was ever to be broken, she'll die.

She then looked up at Mickaila, "Ok then, what's my abilities?"

"Well, let's see. Try calling out status" he said.

Rosalia nodded, "Status" and just like that a screen appeared in front of her

'That's because your sister first awakened as a hunter and later became a gamer through your recognition so her original ranking would be converted over to levels rather than starting from scratch, however as for yourself who awakened as a true gamer, you begin at level 1 furthermore your sister's physical prowess is way beyond yours anyways so it's to be expected.' The system answered.

'Wow, at least be a bit kinder with your wordings.' He said.

'So what rank is she?' Mickaila asked, 'I'm not sure, she would have to join one of the hunter guilds and check for her affinity to know her exact rank.'

Mickaila nodded, "ok, Congratulations sis. You are now a gamer" he said smiling at her whilst telling her how everything works.

After a few minutes of giving Rosalia the full detail of how the screen works, the day soon started to darken.

"Ok, now then. Since everything is all sorted we should have some tea. I'm starving!" He said getting up from his seat and making his way to the kitchen.

"Sis, do you want to eat pasta or rice?" Mickaila asked from the kitchen fridge, "sis?"

However his sister didn't hear, she was in her own world unsure of what to think of everything, and after a while of thinking, she came out of her train of thought and sighed, [this is more than I bargained for ]
