A Mace Of Justice

The camp of the deserters now stained with blood is reigned by an eerie silence. Cristal takes her mace out of one of the not so long ago surviving deserter's heads and moves on. Scanning the camp for any others that might still breathe.

After their leader killed himself chaos quickly filled the camp. No more than thugs and thieves either ran into the forest, attacked each other, or simply gave up. Strategy was no longer needed as Cristal and Hellas simply walked into the camp, easily dealing with these feeble excuses of what used to be soldiers. Searching the tents, Hellas finds a woman lying still, clearly heavily wounded. The pink-haired ranger checks her vitals, confirming the death of this deserter. Her wound is different compared to the others. The others fell to some powerful beast it seemed whilst she appeared to have been tortured even though it seems she was only stricken once. The one strike turned the surrounding skin into a sickly black, the wound festering whilst accompanied by many smaller cuts all imitating the larger one. Hellas continues to inspect the strange wounds until the sound of metal clashing fills his ears. He runs out, to see Cristal battle against three figures. Only dimly using her divine power on her mace as the dark aura of Sol still surrounds her.

"I now see why the crows gathered." One of the deserters says, his gaze aiming at the sky.

"You're quite pretty! What's your name?" The woman that attacked Cristal originally asks wielding 2 refined daggers whilst continuing to jump slightly sideways. Switching often from feet to feet. The other is a shorter man with a messy beard with a dog as a companion. The dog gnarls loudly recognizing the situation, using its experience to hunt to try to flank Cristal.

"My name is not meant to be told to dead men." Cristal replies pointing the dimly shining mace toward the three attackers.

"Were you the one who did this to our camp?" The man with the dog asks.

"Hey, don't interrupt my conversation Cole!'

"Someone has to. Just look at this place!" Cole points to the pile of corpses stacked in the middle. Shutting up Yisla in the process. "So did you?" He asks again.

"I did not create the pile of corpses. I was simply finishing off the rest." Cristal replies, the three attackers all glaring at her. "I will continue with the three of you." Yisha still slightly jumping, rushes toward Cristal as soon as the taunt was spoken. Cristal swings her mace imbued with divine power toward the assailant, who nimbly dodges. Before trying to strike again, her 2 daggers aimed at Cristal's eyes. Cristal blocks with her free arm and pushes Yisha away.

"I will make you like your goddess." Yisha says as she begins to circle Cristal, taking the opposite side from Cole's dog. Cole also draws his weapon, the short man wielding a club engraved with markings. "What are you waiting for Erid?!" He yells looking at his companion that's still sky watching before he rushes to help Yista.

Erid stands up, looks at the battle and then the sky again. The crows cackle loudly now that battle has commenced whilst Pyetar's light is blocked out by the clouds. Erid looks at the battle once again and turns around. "Leave, before it finds you." He simply says as he walks away, abandoning his two comrades. "What? Erid!!" Cole yells out, turning around to scream at his former ally. "What are you doi-!!" He continues to yell until another voice yells even louder.

"Erid! Watch out!" Yista yells, covering her eyes as their opponent engulfs itself in a blinding light. The last words she spoke not even registering with Erid as Cristal's mace connected with the helmet he wears, knocking him out as blood begin to flow from the wound. A dog's whimper accompanies the fallen Erid as Hellas successfully managed to hit the dog with an arrow. Even in the dimly light dark that drastically changed to the morning sun.

Yista wielding her 2 daggers looks around. She sees the corpse of Krystan, the corpses of Cole and his trusted four legged companion, and the distant sight of Erid who abandoned them.

"Woooow! You're so cool!" Yista yells, her smile nearly as bright and lively as the dagger reflecting Cristal's holy power. "How did you do that?" Yista continues to ask question even walking over and kicking Erid's corpse. "Dead, in one hit. I told him that he should focus more on himself than that darned mutt."

"Don't worry you will have plenty of time to discuss this in the afterlife." Cristal says as she walks toward Yista, resembling a small rising sun as the divine power comes from her armor and mace, dispersing the darkness that Secessus had previously cast upon her.

Coordinated and powerful divine magic imbued strikes are making their way toward Yista. Each strike dodged and followed by an attempt to sink one of her daggers into her attacker's body. Each time Cristal either block or uses her divine power to scare Yista off.

Noticing that a drawn out battle would play into their two on one advantage, The deserter dodges another one of Cristal's many strikes and ignores the divine power imbued light as she strikes.

"Clank!" The dagger she struck with breaks into pieces, it was sharp enough but not one of the finest pieces. Yista gives another bright smile as she looks at her broken dagger.

"So this is the power of a paladin. I would've become a believer as well if I knew this were the benefits." Yista says as she sheets her still unbroken dagger, throwing away the other one on top of one of the many corpses. Her nimbleness and mobility still very evident thanks to the light armor she wears. In a few seconds she had created enough distance between her Cristal that even seven mace strikes attached wouldn't land. Cristal sheets her own mace seeing the decision of her opponent.

"You would have never stood the trial that comes with it." Cristal responds, the light brightening with her conviction.

"I guess so. See ya!" Yista says before she runs off, leaving behind the two attackers as she opts to flee.

Not willing to risk an unnecessary chase that would ultimately be unfruitful seeing the difference of weight in armor and the opponent's expertise in their assassin like fighting style. Hellas and Cristal opt to finish off the remaining deserters in the camp.
