Humanity Has Never Lacked Geniuses

Ye Mo left after he was done with the ape as only dead skin and small tugs of fur remained in the place.

If any other cultivators had seen how the corpse was treated they would probably cry miserably or faint right away.

"Too bad Tian He exploded, with his cultivation and since he is a human, i would probably have progressed as much in the Nine Revolutions Fiend Body cultivation by absorbing him than i did with the ape."

"Well, things went well nonetheless, im satisfied as it is."

Originally, Ye Mo expected the elder coming to use the deep wounds the ape already had and the huge blood loss from the multiple cuts on his body which would increase with their fight for the beast to succumb to its injuries even though the cultivator would probably die first.

If its body was still in one piece in the end and the wrathful black ape died he could have absorbed both of them getting amazing benefits for himself.

However he couldn't predict the one sent would have such a flame technique like the Human Starfire battle skill that would prevent any blood loss.

As the saying goes, men propose and god dispose.

Ye Mo could only go with the flow but as long as the ape was killed he was still benefiting greatly.

With wind flow battle skill he ran accross the jungle quickly distancing himself from the ravaged nest.

He had to find a good place to breakthrough the second revolution but he could not return to the city as it was too far and he wanted to increase his strength before going back.

With greater strength comes better safety and a wider range of solutions when facing a problem that's why the sooner he could breakthrough the better.

Ye Mo stopped in front of a medium sized mound, in the middle was a small tunnel just enough for a man to crawl inside.

He went in after he conscientiously put branches and leaves to cover the entrance behind him and proceeded forward for several meters until he reached a den, the ceiling was low, only enough for him to sit at best but it was long enough for Ye Mo to lay down.

All this was arranged in advance revealing his multiple layers of preparation. Ye Mo was meticulous and although it was done in a hurry, it only served as a place where he could breakthrough safely and in this aspect he didn't need more comfort.

The comfort wouldn't mean anything in front of the pain he prepared himself to receive. This kind of suffering you would go through during each revolution wasn't something you could get used to no matter how many times you endured it so Ye Mo had to steel his mind and meditate for some time before he layed down on the ground and started spreading all the energy absorbed from the ape's corpse.

He knew the pain would paralyze him anyway and even if he wanted to sit, he would end up collapsed on the ground like last time.

The process began as large red veins appeared all over his body before blood started slowly ooze from his skin.

He first felt a little hot before an intense burst of pain immediately attacked him.

This hell restarted all over again as his bones broke and his muscles ripped and healed in a repeated cycle.

After some time it was the turn of his organs to shatter one by one before they would be reconstructed again.

Ye Mo looked at the ceiling but the place didn't have lighting of any kind for him to see anything but darkness moreover his eyes were filled with blood.

He didn't know why but going through the Nine Revolutions Fiend Body breakthrough would always send him in a deep contemplative state. Maybe it was to avoid thinking of the pain but it was impossible or perhaps it was to make time pass faster.

"I obtained the blood core of the wrathful black ape, a genuine rank 3 blood beast. Blood cores are the congregation of the beast cultivation into a tangible object, some says its an organ that they grow when they are strong enough to help them becoming even more powerful or just their own version of the human's dantian."

"The blood core would become their source of strength, exhibiting their potential and the foundation to attain new heights growing ever stronger."

Ye Mo reviewed everything he knew on the subject as he withstanded the pain, suffering in silence.

The agony was insufferable but he gritted his teeth and forced himself to keep thinking extensively relying on his iron will to remain sane.

"Towards blood core, they can be employed in many aspects, some can forge them along their spiritual tool to enhance their abilities or use them to create various pills, that's why they are very much sought for and can be sold for a good price no matter its rank."

"But i don't want to use mine in this kind of things, after all there's another method. The blood core of beasts is full of a baleful, wild qi which is very harmful to humans. In small quantity, assimilating this qi would work as a poison but in huge quantities it would directly lead to their doom."

"However with the help of an alchemist, this baleful qi can be refined. Few would choose this option in general because it would require the alchemist to use his fire to burn the harmful energy and refine it in a mild qi that could be absorbed but doing so would reduce the qi inside the blood core by a huge margin leaving an unsatisfactory amount for cultivators."

This kind of action was something even clans and sects mostly refused to indulge themselves in to nurture prospects as it was too wasteful

Cultivators when they hunted beasts for their blood core would always go for those at their own level at best or it would be too dangerous, almost suicidal. So for a cultivator at the 5th layer of the Qi Gathering realm like Ye Mo, they would only attack mid-tier rank 1 blood beasts at most, but these beasts had low chances of having a blood core and even if one was found, after refining its energy there would be only an inconsequential amount remaining that wouldn't make the cultivator progress much in his cultivation.

Taking into account the cost for the alchemist to refine it and then not only the cultivator wasn't benefiting, he was actually losing ressources in this endeavor. Its still the same for stronger cultivators, even if an Inner Core realm expert would risk his life hunting rank 3 blood beasts and obtain their blood core with more ease, he would need much more energy than a Qi Gathering realm cultivator to progress and the cost to refine a rank 3 blood core grow as well leaving this option detrimental nonetheless.

"But i am only a Qi Gathering realm cultivator, if i made an alchemist refine this rank 3 blood core for me, the qi remaining inside would be simply enormous for a martial artists such as myself. This kind of refined blood core would assist my cultivation better than any spirit qi pills, capable of surpassing the speed of a rank 5 talent easily."

"Yet i don't have an alchemist to help me currently and showing a rank 3 blood core to a stranger with my present self wouldn't even leave me with an intact corpse. Moreover it would be a big waste to use it at the Qi Gathering realm, with my rank 2 talent and what i have at disposition i should be able to attain the Foundation Establishment realm without too much problem, this matter will have to wait until then."

Another point was that Ye Mo didn't know how much exactly would cost the refinement of a rank 3 blood core, all he knew was that it was probably 'too much'.

Ye Mo's limbs tore themselves at various angle and his heart pulsated weakly as his mind drifted to different subjects.

"To reach the peak of cultivation, its truly not easy. How many tried in the span of history, hundreds of billions, no, probably more."

"Humanity has never lacked geniuses and there has been many legends circulating about them in the Blazing Sun continent. There were some that stood above any others in their time like the Great Beast King. Three million years ago this man pushed body cultivation even beyond what was thought possible at the time and dominated everyone. He could endure any attacks directly with his body and could rip anyone to shreds with his bare hands just like a beast as his name was given to him."

"One million eight hundred years ago the Smiling Phantom was the greatest assassin in the world. He was untouchable, wandering the earth freely. When he wanted to hide, no one could find him and if you became his target then you were walking your last steps without knowing. He killed the greatest experts and insignificant cultivators alike. During his life hundreds of thousands of deaths all over the lands were accounted to him without ever being able to prove its veracity. Even to this day, stories about the Smiling Phantom coming to takes you are told to children who behave badly."

"Nine hundred thousand years ago, the Butterfly Witch was the best poison user ever seen, able to plague a whole province in a dark fog slaughtering its inhabitants without any difficulty. She created the Spirit Fairy sect in the southern lands which is still thriving to this day. The members of established organizations who opposed the creation of her sect were all found dead without exception in a span of hours, their corpses, a dark pile of putrid flesh. Fortunately she turned to the righteous faction after founding her sect and didn't kill without reasons."

Towards theses experts who left everyone in fear and reverence, Ye Mo could't help but feel admiration.

"All those are exceptional individuals that left their mark on the world. However, even they couldn't reach the strength i seek. To attain it i must separate myself from other living beings, becoming a different entity altogether, completely driven by my goal only. Women shan't affect me, fortune won't tempt me, reputation can't stop me! Humans and beasts, grasses and sand, heaven and earth, everything shall be used to make a step forward. This is the bare minimum for i, a minor character, to even dare dream."

Ye Mo persevered as he thought clearly, his pained face was pale and his brows frowning deeply, enduring his torment.

He was young but he knew for long what meaning to give to his life.

Even if he fail miserably there will be no regrets, as long as he did everything he could, trying his best at all time then what is there to feel sorry about? It just meant he wasn't fated to accomplish his dream.

But since he was born in this world wouldn't it be a waste if he didn't aim to stand above all existances?

The moon looked like a silver plate hanging in the sky.

On the earth the mound suddenly exploded sending its remains flying in the surroundings.

The figure of a shirtless young man slowly came into being in the cluster of dust and dirt.

His body was stained with mud when all of a sudden he started spinning at high speed creating a faint gale around him.

After a short time he stopped, his skin mostly clean, his body brimmed with strength and his pitch black eyes looked ahead.

The second revolution was completed!
