Solitary Vampire

It’s the year 2357 on earth and the world has been at war in a three battlefront against humanoid lizards gifted by magic called dragonkin, aliens that had far more advanced technology called the Xalorians, and the remnants of angels and demons called ShadowFallen.  No to mention the aggressive beasts that roam the universe Through the war humanity has grown too big to stay only on earth, having finally gone to space and occupied planets that one could only dream of, but the universe’s mysteries are far and wide but closer than you may think. Rosaline, a young 16 year old girl, had been given a book to her by her dead parents that had died on the battlefront against the dragonkin before humanity and the Xalorians signed a treaty in the name of ‘preventing’ war and to deal with the powerful dragonkin. Like that treaty had ever stopped war and the Xalorians being hostile towards humanity. But no matter how hard she tries to open the book it wouldn’t give her face, not even pouring acid. But one day just before she goes off to her new military school after middle school, she accidentally poked her hand and a drop of blood fell onto the book.  A system appeared giving her a chance to become stronger, thinking this was a miracle. What she didn't know at the time was that it turned her into something not human. A Vampire. ********************* This novel was inspired by a lot of different media that I have seen so you may see some similarities between them. I will make sure to mention and give credit to the media when that happens. Updates everyday at 16:00 EDT I will probably be able to pick this novel back up again in December of 2026.

Right Castle Hall

Recovering a few points of mana to insure at least 5 Shadow blinks, Roseline was ready to go to the right hall.

'I think I might be able to finish this in a few hours.'

Dungeons usually take longer then at the speed she was going.

If it was a person with a human affinity at 2 Star doing this, it would have still taken a least two days.

That's the reason why nobody ever really bothered to do this dungeon.

But now Roseline was about to go through the castle throne room that should have taken two days to find if you weren't lucky and guessed correctly.

It was all thanks to the shadow affinity's abilities.

They almost match up perfectly with this dungeon.

Going back into the shadows, Roseline started to walk down the right hall.

Roseline had her guess be confirmed through the knight golems.

There was at least 4 in every group.

The only time she saw more then this was back at the training room.

Fighting 4 of them at the same time made it a little more difficult but the result wasn't much different then before.

Roseline stepped out of the shadows and got the knight's neck from behind.

Squeezing it tight, she turned it into scrap metal.

She let go of it, the golem falling into the floor.

— +10 XP —

This was the third group she had encountered.

Turn to the door they were guarding, she opened it and entered.

Inside, dinning room came into view.

The table was elegant with designs that humans definitely couldn't design.

Chairs were put together nicely and cleanly, showing just how orderly the castle was, like a giant machine.

Plates and utensils were set out and waited for the food that would never come.

It was quiet and empty.

Looking at a door that leads to what should be the kitchen, Roseline opened them and examined the kitchen.

It was like a human's kitchen.

The size of the kitchen and dinning room was unlike the rest of the castle, only going up to 10 feet.

The kitchen itself was white and clean, no sort of mold or old food was out.

Roseline went over to the fridge and opened it up.

Inside, there wasn't any food or ingredients whatsoever.

The fridge was powered by some kind of array that kept food cold.

As far as she could see, there wasn't any point of interest.

Even so, Roseline still grabbed a few things she could probably use as of now or sell later like a few knives and silver.

Getting back out into the hallway, Roseline continued on her way.

Fighting knights, searching rooms, the usual stuff happened.

One point of interest was an office room that seem to belong to what ever ruler that once ruler over this place.

Seeing it made her thing about were in the hell was the village, city, or nation that the now dead resident from here ruled over.

The fact that they weren't near made her think of those fantasy stories for kids that made a story of a king that lived far away and the hero of the story had to go to the castle if they wanted to progress the story.

Anyways, the office had something in it was made her put it in her own shadow.

It was a crystal ball.

Crystal balls used to be a way of transporting information and 'calling' other people but that was old technology to earth.

So it's use changed to different things.

A crystal ball could be made to be a lie detector, to check one's affinity outside of using it, and much more.

The crystal ball's effect would change with what kind of magic crystal it was made from.

Like for example, a lie detector crystal ball was made from spirit, light, and darkness elements together.

She could find out what kind of crystal ball it was later.

Getting back out into the hall, she fought with the fifth group that she came across and found a bedroom.

'The bedroom must be for the king..'

Like the other rooms, this place was tidy and clean.

It was like no one lived in this castle.

If it wasn't for the messy library, she would have thought that this place was abandoned before the king or ruler moved in here.

On a beauty desk in one side of the room, there was many pieces of jewelry that looked valuable.

But they could probably be more than cheap.

Because of technology to move to different planets, the rarity of these kinds of jewels went down.

The rich started to value magic crystals, or magic stones, more than the jewels that their ancestors tried so hard to get.

But still, Roseline picked them up.

Just because the rich and powerful of human society didn't want them didn't mean that others didn't want them either.

The bed oooked comfortable to sleep in but she just had some earlier ago.

**Step**

Walking down the hallway to end, it felt like the dungeon was coming to an end quite quickly and he was just about to approach it.

What she saw over there though made her hide into the shadows, not like she was scared or anything

What she saw was four of the bigger knight golems.

Getting passed then would be difficult for her to do now.

'How to deal with them?'

She could dodge their attacks to make their own attacks hit their partners.

Or she could just straight up attack them.

But by doing the latter, it was far more riskier.

Maybe the same as before?

'Hmm.'

Roseline used three Shadow blinks while fighting the weaker knights here at the right hall, leaving her only two left.

So she removed the last option.

She would dodge their attack in a way that hit themselfs.

Warming up her body, she walked right out of the shadows and faced the knights.

The knights saw her and faced her as well.
