Solitary Vampire

It’s the year 2357 on earth and the world has been at war in a three battlefront against humanoid lizards gifted by magic called dragonkin, aliens that had far more advanced technology called the Xalorians, and the remnants of angels and demons called ShadowFallen.  No to mention the aggressive beasts that roam the universe Through the war humanity has grown too big to stay only on earth, having finally gone to space and occupied planets that one could only dream of, but the universe’s mysteries are far and wide but closer than you may think. Rosaline, a young 16 year old girl, had been given a book to her by her dead parents that had died on the battlefront against the dragonkin before humanity and the Xalorians signed a treaty in the name of ‘preventing’ war and to deal with the powerful dragonkin. Like that treaty had ever stopped war and the Xalorians being hostile towards humanity. But no matter how hard she tries to open the book it wouldn’t give her face, not even pouring acid. But one day just before she goes off to her new military school after middle school, she accidentally poked her hand and a drop of blood fell onto the book.  A system appeared giving her a chance to become stronger, thinking this was a miracle. What she didn't know at the time was that it turned her into something not human. A Vampire. ********************* This novel was inspired by a lot of different media that I have seen so you may see some similarities between them. I will make sure to mention and give credit to the media when that happens. Updates everyday at 16:00 EDT I will probably be able to pick this novel back up again in December of 2026.

Past Wishes: Part 2

The camp where ShadowFallen had gathered was currently being watched by Seth.

But Seth couldn't hear their conversation.

He debated on whether or not to go, but in the end decided to stay where he was and wait.

The ShadowFallen were a bunch of demons that had died in the war of the angels and demons.

Their distorted appercance had shoulders that hang and arms that were either gone, half-way destroyed, twisted, or fully intact but had yellow and black pus coming out of them.

The ShadowFallen demons had torsos that had holes in them, some thin like bullets while others giant from spears.

Faces were twisted in a way that looked as if someone put a drill to their faces, while other faces had hard, rock-like skin almost falling off theirs.

Short in height and huge in size. Horns of all colors were chipped, sliced, and pierced. Some had tails, others didn't.

Such a sight would have definitely been painted by a artist to represent the terror of the dead if it wasn't for it being their reality.

One of the ShadowFallen spoke, revealing a raspy and disorder voice.

But it was unknown what the ShadowFallen had said as it was in a language only the demons spoke, called demon-tongue.

Or at least it was unknown to most people, not Seth. He would have known if he had moved closer.

The ShadowFallen started to all talk and soon ended the conversation.

They started to move around and that was when Seth decided to move.

He was currently behind a tree with his back against it.

He turned around and climbed the tree quietly, standing on one of it's branches.

Seth moved around through these branches, slowly getting closer to the camp before stopping right near the camp.

Seth hold Heaven-Breaking Will in his right hand and jumped down on a thick patch of snow, minimizing the noise.

Getting behind one of the ShadowFallen, Seth quickly pulled the longsword out and stabbed through the dead demon, soon moving on to the next.

And the next.

And the next.

Until one of the ShadowFallen had realized what had happened and informed the others in a loud sound coming from a elder goat horn.

Seth went out to the open and went on a killing spree.

He stabbed and sliced, swinging and striking every ShadowFallen that came his way.

A ShadowFallen with 5 demonic horns appeared to the side of Seth and swiped with their claw, but Seth had used his affinity to push the claw away from him leading to an opening that Seth used to stab through the deformed neck of the ShadowFallen.

Once a few more came, only one was left.

They were all killed under Seth's blade.

Seth looked at the ShadowFallen noting its appearance.

It's body looked in much better condition compared to other ShadowFallen and was noticeably much more prepare to deal with Seth.

It seem that the ShadowFallen had retained some of their past intelligence and strength as the fog around them was more solid.

On their head was 6 horns the radiated a light blue light.

'A mid-level ShadowFallen of the ice affinity.'

As soon as Seth though of that he ran over so fast to its side it would look like teleporting.

Raising Heaven-Breaking Will, Seth slashed down towards the ShadowFallen's neck but was forced to dodge from the arm that came around to him.

Both hadn't used their affinities yet but that was going to change soon.

The ShadowFallen's horns began to glow as ice spears grew from the sides of them, as well as covering their fists.

Seeing this, Seth started to use his mana to create a barrier and made the blade sharper.

This little change on Heaven-Breaking Will made it at least 3x stronger then before, Seth's control over the spirit affinity was just that great.

Both waited until the ice on the ShadowFallen had finished forming, charging towards each other.

Seth raised Heaven-Breaking Will high with both hands and the ShadowFallen pulled back his fists covered with gleaming ice while the ice spears rushed over with high speed.

Once they reached each other and the longsword and fists hit, everything became black and white for a moment before the entire camp and surrounding forest was blown away from the impact of the attacks and then came the snow, dust, and dirt blowing into a giant cloud that covered their sight.

Cracking was heard in both of their ears but they had no change in expression as they knew the result by then.

Once the snow, dust, and dirt settled one of the figures fell to there knees.

To the right side of the figure was their head, sliced off cleanly.

Seth stood while the ShadowFallen fell.

Taking in a deep and cold breath in, Seth closed his eyes and said a few words he had always remembered to tell the ShadowFallen no matter what.

"May you rest in peace."

After doing that, Seth couldn't help but go down memory lane.

….

….

"That's not how you hold a long sword kid!" Said a voice that was sharp and clear.

One couldn't help but to listen when they heard that voice.

A young kid that seemed to be of 12 years was constantly swinging a sword that would have been to much for such a skinny child.

But it seemed that the woman didn't care, yelling out all the mistakes the child made.

But the young child, or rather Seth, didn't mind it.

He knew that his mentor was doing what was best for him.

Hard and grueling work that no one normal would be able to handle.

But Seth was able to handle it.

And his mentor knew that too.

"Fix your posture!"

"Keep your feet to the ground!"

"Don't let your head get into the clouds!"

Every single time she said something, Seth would fix it up until there was nothing left to change.

Sitting in front of his teacher crosslegged, Seth stared at his teacher as she had something to tell him.

"Before I give you my pride and power, Heaven-Breaking Will, you must promise me something."

"Have that promise burned deep into your mind and body, to never forget it."

"Please put the ShadowFallen to rest, they have gone through enough already."

Thank you for the power stones! As always please comment and critique my work! I hope you guys have a great day, evening, or night!
