A Game

A white room so massive that it appeared to be an endless expanse of white there stood a young boy, the thing about this young boy was that he was stark naked,thankfully his crown jewels were blurred by whatever mechanisms were controlling the white room.

"Hmmm i didn't think they would leave me naked" sighed the boy in this particular situation. He looked no older than 16 with a height above average, and jet black hair with red tips at the side. His face looked like a model and it would have easily made a few girls drop and due to him being naked his six packs were on display showing how much work and dedication he had put into it. His name was Ray Ace.

Then a bright screen started flashing in front of the boy's eyes

<Would you like to begin victory>

[YES] [NO]

"of course i'm gonna pick yes" in which the boy proceeded to click on the option.

<Please insert your username>

"now what should i do" the boy thought then he decided to put a random name.

<Name already exists>

He tried to input a different option but he was still met with the same reply

<Name already exists>

He tried several attempts but each and everyone of them no matter how dumb they were was still met with the same reply.

Then he had to go through some name recommendations but all of them were stupidly weird. He had enough so he just tried one last time, and it actually worked.

<Are you sure would like to use Abyssal lord as your username>. To which he replied yes.

<Before you begin your journey would like to purchase some clothing>, to which he replied no.

Afterwards a bright light descended on his body which gave him cloths that looked like rags. Thankfully he finally had something to cover his body.

Suddenly the whole scenery around him started to change from the white room to a village. All around him he could see people beside him, probably the players who wanted to start playing the game.

Most of them were putting on the same rags as him but some other people were putting on fancy clothes, probably the ones who actually spent their money on buying clothes.

After all of them spawned they just stood there for a while trying to get used to their controls,until the AI finally spoke up after it's silence.

<You have now started your journey please select an ability>.

After this a long list of abilities was shown to all the players faces. The list was made from the most to the least popular and they all had rankings based on how many people liked them.

The highest in rank had a gold shine to it signifying that it was used by many people. While scrolling down he came upon the skill that was at the last position. This ability was colored in a grey tone. It was called God of War even though it was cool being colored grey meant that it wasn't very popular and it probably wouldn't be that good,

But He had a different thought in mind,

..... Even if it is the least popular doesn't mean it is the weakest it just means that no one has been able to fully master it yet", thinking with these thoughts Ray decided to choose it.

<Would you like to choose God of War as your ability>

[YES] [NO]

 the AI asked to which he replied yes. Afterwards the screen went blank. Other players had already selected their abilities and were just walking around, while others were still in deep thought about it. The ones who were done started to explore the area for a bit, since Ray was done he decided to join them too.

While walking not too far from their starting point they encountered two paths, with directions written on both of them. On the first the words victory was written on it while the other one training grounds was written on it. A lot of the players went to the tutorial with only a few going to victory, those were the ones that already knew how to play and just wanted to start in a new character.

When any of the players enter one of the directions they would suddenly disappear as if teleported to another world by a strange magic. Seeing this Ray made his way to the direction that bolstered the training grounds. When he enter the space the light was so bright that he had to cover his eyes. When he opened his eyes he was no more in the village but now he was in a different location. He was currently at a cabin that was situated at a mountain side. The cabin was very old and looked like it was about to collapse, it looked like the cabin had gone through many struggles in the past and was just barely hanging on to life. Looking around he noticed a forest further out in the open.

He was about to enter the cabin but before his curiosity could get the better of him the AI asked in it's usual indifferent tone;

<Would you like to start tutorial>

[YES] [NO]

He quickly dismissed the screen that occupied his vision. Starting the tutorial could wait; curiosity had always been his downfall.

"Later, I can always come back and do the tutorials," he mused to himself. Before entering the cabin, he wanted to check his game status.

[Player: Abyssal lord]

Surveying his stats, he understood their roles. Having read numerous system novels, he possessed a keen grasp of how to utilize them effectively. Each stat held untapped potential, waiting to be unlocked through practice and experience.

Exiting the stats section, he navigated to the skills section. Most of the skills were greyed out except for one: [Weapon Shifter]. He focused on it, and the AI provided the skill description.

[Skills]

[Weapon Shifter]

Skill Description: A skill awakenable by a true battle master after years of combat experience. This ability allows you to switch weapons in your inventory, making you unpredictable on the battlefield and enabling various fighting styles.

Usage: 5 Mana

"Will other players be able to use this skill since it affects weapons?" he asked the AI.

"No, other players won't have this skill. They must select a weapon type and can't change instantly like you," replied the AI indifferently, though the boy sensed a hint of annoyance.

"Where's my inventory?" the boy asked sheepishly.

"Summon your inventory with your mind," stated the AI. Following the instructions, he summoned his inventory—a large screen with empty slots.

The quest box contained only one entry: the tutorial.

[Quest]

Start tutorial

Reward: Meet the NPC to aid your journey

Penalty: None

Satisfied, he approached the cabin door, feeling an invisible barrier preventing entry.

"Okay, let's do the tutorial then." He selected the tutorial, and a magical arrow appeared in front of him, pointing towards the cabin.

"Thank goodness," he thought, eager to progress with the quest located inside.

He cautiously approached the cabin, unsure if he could enter. Reassured by the quest's directive, he opened the door and was astounded by what he saw inside.

The interior was exquisitely furnished, a stark contrast to the dilapidated exterior. It resembled a royal mansion, adorned with paintings and luxurious furniture.

"I guess they can do anything in a game," he muttered.

In the room, a man not older than 30, with model-like features and silver hair, smiled warmly at him as he entered.

"Welcome, young adventurer," the man greeted. "I am Elric, your guide in this virtual realm."

The boy was taken aback by the lifelike appearance of the NPC. "Hello, Elric," he replied, still marveling at the realism of the game.

Elric chuckled. "I see you've just started your journey. Fear not, for I am here to assist you."

The boy nodded, feeling a surge of excitement and curiosity. "What should I do first?"

"Let's begin by honing your skills," Elric suggested. "You possess the [Weapon Shifter] skill, a rare ability indeed. Let me teach you how to utilize it effectively."

The training sessions with Elric were transformative for the boy. On a bright virtual afternoon, they ventured to a secluded area—a sprawling training ground surrounded by towering trees and rugged terrain. Elric carried an air of wisdom and experience, his presence commanding respect.

"Today, we focus on the art of adaptability," Elric announced, his voice echoing across the arena.

The boy gripped his sword tightly, eager to apply his newfound skills in a simulated combat scenario. He could sense Elric's expectation, a silent challenge to rise to the occasion.

"Remember, the key to mastery is fluidity," Elric continued, pacing around the boy. "Adapt to the rhythm of battle, and let your instincts guide you."

The boy nodded, his focus unwavering. As the training commenced, Elric assumed the role of a seasoned opponent, testing the boy's reflexes and strategic acumen.

With each weapon shift, the boy surprised his virtual adversary, evading attacks and striking with precision. Elric's teachings echoed in his mind—anticipate, adapt, and conquer.

As the session progressed, the boy felt a surge of exhilaration. His movements became fluid and calculated, a dance of blades and tactics under Elric's watchful eye.

"Mastering the [Weapon Shifter] skill requires discipline and intuition," Elric remarked, pausing the training momentarily. "Anticipate your enemy's movements, and adapt your tactics accordingly."

The boy absorbed every lesson with fervor, his determination fueling his progress. Hours passed like fleeting moments, the sun descending behind the virtual horizon.

By nightfall, the training concluded, and the boy stood panting but exhilarated. Elric approached, a proud smile on his face.

"You've come a long way, young adventurer," Elric praised, clapping the boy's shoulder. "Your potential knows no bounds."

The boy nodded gratefully, a sense of accomplishment swelling within him. The training had unlocked new possibilities, paving the way for greater challenges and adventures in the virtual realm.
