To her he's a bully, to him she's HIS angel

My heart was beating rapidly in my chest, the bells was growing louder and the images in front of me seemed to blur.

Suddenly all the lights went off and the doors were automatically locking, from where I stood, I could hear clicks. Then there was a subtle smell of coffee in the air.

"What happened to the lights?." I asked under my breath. 

"Liliac." His voice thundered, I quivered and turned to look to look at him but what I saw was total darkness.

"Leonard, please we have to leave, they say the beast is coming, everybody ran away like they were being controlled. Come we can go to our pack house, I'm sure you'll be welcome there and since we're married they'll let me in for once." I said walking in the darkness trying to find Leonard.

He laughed.

"The beast is coming they're right, you should run." He told me teasingly.

I wasn't ready for jokes.

"Stop this, let's leave now!." I demanded.

There was a loud growl that echoed through out the whole corridor, I tripped on my own foot, so much for imposter syndrome, I screamed.

"Leonard I think its here!." I screamed.

"It got me, please run, leave without me my dear wife." He sounded injured, the beast had got him.

I could hear him gasping in pain.

"Liliac, you have to save yourself unless it would Rip you apart." He said.

Tears slipped through my eyes, my heart felt like it was burning, this was the man I met some hours ago, I felt so much compassion and empathy for him.

"I'm not leaving without you." I told him. "I'm trying to find your voice, you know this halls, it's your house, tell me where you are so I'd come get you."

"I can't get on my feet, how can you help me out of here?." He asked, his voice was weak and it was already getting restrained.

I wanted to do this quickly before he bled out and died.

"I can carry you." I said.

He laughed.

"I'm thrice your weight, if not four times. You're barely reaching my shoulder when you stand you know that, right?." He asked, his voice carried a hint of amusement.

"I can, I'm strong." I defended.

The truth hit me like a lightning bolt, my wolf whimpered and cried. I was useless once again, now that strength was the only key.

"Then I'm staying here with you, whatever has injured you should better finish me." I said laying on the ground.

"Huh?!." I heard Leonard ask in confusion.

Suddenly the lights came on, I looked up expecting to see Leonard laying in the pool of his own blood but there he was standing in a velvet robe and holding a cup that contained coffee... 

My eyes widened in surprise and confusion…then hate, he had toyed with me just to see me cry, he was a bully, no different from the others and here I was, thinking that maybe there was hope for the both of us. 

Leonard's POV

I was sitting in my study when suddenly the closing bells started chiming, I looked at the clock, it was already eight pm, the workers would be hot on their heels to leave the house.

I wondered if Liliac would also run, I walked to her bedroom and she was not there, I followed her scent instead and it led me to the stairwell, she stood at the landing.

My housekeeper was ordering her to leave, when he pushed her backwards, I had lost it but when my wolf almost shifted, I had to hold myself back by taking a sip of the coffee I was holding. I would be putting everyone in danger by letting my wolf take over control, it would be impossible for me to take back control until my wolf had eaten flesh and grounded bones with it's teeth, it would have everybody including Liliac. 

She watched them leave in horror and I decided to see what she would do... Would she leave or stay. Everybody always left, my siblings, my friends, my parents... Everybody. 

My wolf laughed at me, he called me a lunatic, he himself was the lunatic. 

"She would run." He jested. 

"She's not the kind to run, I can sense loyalty and care from her." I defended 

"They always run, nobody ever stays, they all hate you, you have no one not even her." He said 

I felt pain, would she really abandon me like everybody else, I was already broken and I didn't need her to break me to even smaller pieces.

I turned off the power and called her name, I could see her clearly but she found it hard to follow my voice.

"Such a weak and useless omega." My wolf jested once more. "Stop it." I warned. 

"Or else what, you'd claw yourself to death. You and I know that immortality runs through your being and you would only suffer the pain you inflict upon yourself, I'm you and you're me." He said.

"You're a lunatic, you're cursed." I reminded.

"So are you." He said teasingly with the evil laugh I had learnt to overlook.

"Leonard, please we have to leave, they say the beast is coming, everybody ran away like they were being controlled. Come we can go to our pack house, I'm sure you'll be welcome there and since we're married they'll let me in for once." Liliac said trying to warn me.

Her voice held a kind of concern that I've never heard from anyone. 

It was so unbelievable I found myself laughing, my wolf was quiet and speechless, he didn't expect her to care for me, he was jealous.

"The beast is coming they're right, you should run." I told Liliac trying really hard to make my voice sound serious.

"Stop this, let's leave now!." I was taken aback, she didn't want to leave without me?... Wait, was she demanding that I follow her.

"She's got guts." My wolf commended, I could sense respect from his voice.

" She's fierce... " I whispered, I didn't want to take the test this far but Liliac had shook my entire identity by sticking with me even when she was scared of something unknown to her.

I was deeply intrigued, I could see how scared she was, trembling and whenever I spoke she would try her very best to walk towards my voice. I wanted to stop for her emotional state but really, how hard would she stay before she broke.

"I'm willing to push her till her breaking point, maybe then you'll let me eat her." My wolf said

I growled, her shoulders quivered, my wolf laughed in amusement, my lips bent in pity for the poor girl, she started crying hard.

" Leonard I think its here!." She cried. 

"It got me, please run, leave without me my dear wife." 

I told him masking my voice to seem injured. 

"Liliac, you have to save yourself unless it would Rip you apart." I warned her, she shut her eyes and cleaned her wet cheeks with the back of her palms.

"I'm not leaving without you." I could feel my wolf retreating backwards into the subconsciousness, for the first time he was wronged, a smile found it's way to my lips.

 "I'm trying to find your voice, you know this halls, it's your house, tell me where you are so I'd come get you." She said sqauring her shoulders and searching for a wall to lead her.

" I can't get on my feet, how can you help me out of here?." I asked her.

" I can carry you." She said shocking me. I reminded her of my size and weight. 

After then she broke down completely.

" This is her breaking point, watch her abandoned you." My wolf told me, I found myself clutching tighter to my cup and holding my breath. 

"Then I'm staying here with you, whatever has injured you should better finish me."

I watched in a new found horror as she laid flat on the ground.

"I don't deserve you, Liliac." I muttered under my breath and I turned the power on.

My wolf was new to shame, he was not going to take this new well. 

" You haven't told her that you're the beast that's why she's still here." My wolf teased.

" I'm not the beast, I'm the prince charming, the finest man in the country." I said.

" Wait till I take over once it turns midnight, I'm having Liliac all to myself." My wolf announced, I felt my heart skip beats in my chest.
