Mia was in a state of agitation. Her hands were shaking as she held the phone tightly to her ear, her eyes glaring at the space in front of her.

She could feel the anger and frustration building up inside her, and it wasn't hard to tell from the tone of her voice that something was definitely wrong.

"Marlene, what the hell happened? Why was Emerald hospitalized again?" she bellowed, her voice laced with venom.

Marlene's voice on the other end of the line was soft and low as if she was trying to calm down an angry beast. "I know you're upset cousin but I really don't know what happened. I swear I had no idea that she'd end up in that so quickly,"
