197 Wounds [Bonus chapter]

Lilly Rose clenched her teeth to stop herself from trembling. The admonishing tone of Nana Ruby was enough to snap her out of her safe bubble, which she thought to herself, wasn't so safe after all these years. 

"Old enough," she muttered under her breath. She had her eyes glued on the floor because she could not meet Nana Ruby's eyes. She did not want to see a hint of any disappointment in them. 

Nana Ruby is one of the few people that she truly cares for and never left her side during those turbulent years that she is trying to bury far down her memory. 

"Lilly Rose, Pete had told me that Matthew wanted you to see a doctor," she said gently. The harshness in her tone was gone. 

"My mother needs to see a doctor. I don't need it. Besides, didn't Pete tell you that I'm already seeing a doctor? One that Dad wants me to see."
