No Apparent Reason

"Where's Lilly Rose?" 

"She went to the servant's quarter at the back sir." 

Matthew hurried to the servant's quarter. He had an idea that his wife would go to Pete and he was not mistaken. 

"Pete!" 

He knocked and called Pete's name but the studio apartment was quiet and dark. 

"Pete?" He knocked a bit louder and after another minute, he heard some feet shuffling. Not a minute after, a sleepy-looking Pete opened the door. 

"Where's Lilly Rose?" 

Pete stared at Matthew who appeared to be in a hurry to find his wife.

"Uhm, I brought her home and she didn't inform me of any schedule for today."
