199 Breakfast For Three

"You're here, dear. Come, let's have breakfast together. It's been awhile since I have sat down on a table with you two." 

Lilly Rose smiled at Nana Ruby and gave Pete a quick glance, checking his mood and exhaled a deep breath that he seemed to be unaware of the huge bouquet of flowers that Matthew sent in her room so early in the morning.

Nana Ruby was chirpy despite the emotional confrontation that they had last night. She wished that she could be like her when it comes to containing emotions. 

She could not for the life of her act like things were okay when it's not. She could maybe fool people who didn't know her personally with her resting bitch face but the people who were close to her could easily tell that she was having a dilemma. Hence, Pete arched his brow in a subtle way of questioning her with the tight lines around her eyes which made her smile appear fake for they did not reach her eyes.
