4. Peter has a crush on Jesy

Peter kept on roaming around the classroom waiting for his crush Jesy to come back from sir Peter's office.

Why is she taking so long ,he asked himself,is it not to just go and submit her notebook, am missing her already. He kept on pacing about and his twin brother and friends were just staring at him silently and thinking about what would make their brother and friend respectively so restless.

Peter what's wrong with,his brother Paul asked.

Nothing's wrong,do I look like someone that something's wrong with.

Well you like you are love sick and missing someone, Goodness said teasingly.

Wait don't tell me it's because of that ugly bitch you are pacing about since, Joy asked with disdain, Joy doesn't like Jesy because, she feels Jesy takes everything from her, meanwhile Jesy's just working out herself to become someone in life and make the people that are looking up to her to be proud of her.

Joy , Jesy is ugly you know that,she's unique and beautiful ,you just being jealous of the innocent girl and the most painful thing is the fact that when you see her you pretend as if she's your bestie, you are really one hell of a girl, am so scared of your two face attitude, Peter said defending his crush.

Here she comes, someone's love is finally out, Paul shouted.

Don't let her hear you o, don't only want her to be angry with me ,you know I haven't told her my feelings right, Peter warned them.

He strolled towards Jesy to discuss irrelevant issues while his brother and friends kept making sheepish faces at them.

Once the school closing bell rang, Jesy took her bag and headed straight for her mum's class,her classmates gathered each in his/her friend circle to gossip and play games together.

Peter jumped up from his seat also to escort her.

So tell me ,why are you following me around ,Jesy asked him.

Not following around and if you feel so ,am sorry, just want to be your friend that's all,Peter replied her.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ,are you sure?Jesy asked him.

Yes I am ,I just want to be your friend and study together with you that's all, Peter said.

Ok o, because am not interested in any other thing ,Jesy replied.

A flash of sadness flashed through Peter's face but he quickly got hold of himself that he just had to possess patience.

Jesy has been through alot ,I don't want to rush her, I want to take my time ,I know very soon she will fall in love with me too,he thought and concluded in his mind.

Daddy good afternoon ,Jesy greeted her father who was sitting under the mango tree in their compound reading books.

Jesy's father is a registered nurse, who is old and no longer of an employable age ,he does menial jobs to take of his family but even in his dire situation ,his love for books never waiver.

Afternoon my daughter ,how are you?her dad asked her.

School was fine o,she replied but, we only did mathematics today because many students have not resumed school.

Ok no problem, did you carry you people's house key?her dad asked again.

Yes I did,Jesy replied him and walked to the house.

After pulling her clothes and putting on something comfortable, pink sweat shirt and white joggers, Jesy walked into the kitchen to prepare what her mum told her to cook.

Jesy!!! Favourite called out as he knocked at the door.

Am coming,Jesy answered from the kitchen,she cleaned her hands with the towel on the kitchen door and entered the parlour to open the door for her kid brother.

Oooooooooooo, am so tired ,what are you preparing ,am hungry o,her brother complained.

Am boiling rice, mum said it's evening food o so, go look for what to eat the quench the hunger a little bit,Jesy replied her brother and entered the kitchen to filter and wash the rice.

Jesy's mum is an active woman in women forum and peace group, she doesn't come home on time most times and this makes her husband angry all the time, he tells her she doesn't have time for her family but Jesy's mum feels she's going to church for her family and their children are old enough to take of theirselves .

Good evening my husband, Jesy's mother greeted their father.

Welcome, he murmured angrily at the mother.

Jesy's mum just walked straight into the house as she is immune to her husband's cold response.

This children so nobody can sweep this verandah, favourite so you can't sweep the verandah ,is it everything I must tell you people first, Jesy's mum complained bitterly because of the cold response she got from her husband.

Is the food ready?,she asked Jesy .

No it's not ready yet, I just put it on fire,Jesy replied her mum.

Ok no problem,her mum answered her.

Her mum entered her room to change her clothes and spied into the children's room ,she saw favourite pressing her phone that she managed to charge at her workplace. Favourite! Favourite!! She shouted.

Ma , favourite replied.

Where's my phone ? Is it with you, she asked him.

Yes ....sssss,he stuttered .

So phone that I managed to charge is what you are pressing so that the phone will run out of battery life right? Jesy's mum asked him.

Sorry ,just wanted to check something on Facebook , we were grouped in school today and the teacher gave us assignment ,we are discussing about the assignment Jesy lied.

Hmmmm , ok no problem ,be fast and bring the phone to the sitting room for me, his mum told him .

Ok mum, favourite replied.

Their sister Praise arrived from the fake choir practice she told her parents she was attending . Praise ,is dating Ability their church member in church but she's still scared of letting her dad know so she always goes to his house with pretense of going to church or market or to see a female friend in the same area her boyfriend lives. She's a graduate of chemistry education from Delta state University and the first child of the family.

Mum , good evening she greeted their mum.

Good evening O, how was rehearsals today? Did you see Ability in rehearsals? Her mum asked her.

Praise signalled to her mum to keep her voice down as she whispered the truth to her that she didn't go to church for rehearsals but she went to see Ability in his parents house.

Ok, but why did you not tell me? Jesy's mum asked her in a low tone.

Sorry , I wanted to tell you but I forgot to do so, Praise pleaded.

Feeling unconcerned about the fact that her daughter withheld information about her movement ,she asked of the well being of her future son in law. How's Ability?she asked.

He's fine o, his mummy's sister came today from Port Harcourt, she gave me this black bag ,her sister replied showing them the fine Gucci brand bag.

The bag is fine o, hmmm ,she tried o ,in law ,in law , Jesy's mum said excitedly.

You need to see the way she was advising me and Ability, I believe that immediately after my youth service ,I will be getting married, Praise said confidently.

Jesy that was washing dishes in the kitchen and her mum that was sitter in the sitting room with her sister shouted with excitement ,so very soon my sister will be out of the market, am so happy for you sister Praise,Jesy congratulated her sister happily.

Their mom stood up and started dancing happily and humming native sounds with her mouth lovingly .
