3 Chapter three: Oh brother

''You didn't need to point the gun at me '' said Christian in an emotional way. He was looking like a puppy who had been hit by a car and was fighting for dear life. ''Oh come on don't be such a pussy ,I didn't hurt you ''I said as I was laughing inside.

Jus as we were talking and insulting each other Xavier one of the computer geeks and one of my best friends interrupted us .''Hey sweet cheeks ''said Xavier to Christian .''Hi ''said Christian in an awkward tone .''Hey Xav don't you even notice me here'' I said with a hint of jealousy. ''Oh I don't ,anyway I searched for the whose name you gave me the guy was gorgeous '' said Xavier. '' What do you mean ''was'' '' I asked .

''Oh yeah the dude died like eight months ago 'cause of cancer and the two didn't even know each other. So it turns out the girl died sad and alone with no man just like I will '' said Xavier with not even a hint of remorse. How cruel.

''You know that you shouldn't chew gum in the office right? I asked him. ''Hone , there are a lot of things that I shouldn't do or say in this office ,but I be doing that shit ,so get off my back girl.'' he said in a sassy but classy tone . Sometimes he acts like Billy Porter but without the cash.

''See other people dream about me and my cute ass ,why don't you?'' asked Christian. If I ever dream about him I would kill myself right on the spot.

After waiting for like thirty minutes ,the brother finally showed up . About fucking time.

''Sorry I....I...I am so late my friends dared to run a mile ,so I had to go back home and freshen up. said Jack, the brother. ''So let's get started .''I said .

''Mr Mcain ...'' I said

''Detective ,please call me me Jack '' he said.

''Ok Jack , did your sister have a boyfriend ?'' I asked him even though I knew the answer to that. ''No she didn't but she and her best friend ,Lucy created a fake boyfriend for her .It turns out that the real guy whose name they were using had died of cancer eight months ago.'' said Jack.

''Did your sister have any enemies that could have wanted to kill her?.'' asked Christian and he actually sounded like he went through the same thing as him .Maybe I was too quick to judge him or maybe he was just playing Jack.

''No .I refuse to believe that anybody hated her .She was such a nice person'' said Jack as tears swelled up in his ocean blue eyes. ''What about the people she trolled on social media.?'' I asked as my heart ached for him .He was very honest and he truly sounded like he cared about her.

''It was all faked .She would ask them to be in a fake online fight 'cause she thought it would gain her millions of followers.'' he said

''Ok '' said Christian ''We are going to find this dirty scumbag and lock him up. I promise you.''

Christian looked very angry and determined to find the murderer but that does not excuse the fact that he made a promise like that .I mean like what if we don't find the person who did this and the case goes cold. I would feel like the FBI failed to find justice for Jake and most importantly for Emma.

After Jack left we sat in silence for a whole five minutes .''Why the hell did you make that promise?'' I finally asked him. ''Oh shut the hell up. You are just mad that I did something that you couldn't do.'' he finally snapped. I couldn't believe it this was our first fight. I had figured that we would fight sooner or later but I didn't think that it would be this soon.

''Oh and what was that? '' I snapped back. ''Hope .I gave him hope, that's what'' he said.

''Why are you so invested in this case all of a sudden? ''I asked '' 'Cause I clearly remember that two weeks ago when we started working together you didn't give two shits about this case.''

''I don't have to answer you.'' he said as he started to walk away ''See 'ya tomorrow.''

He left the building and went to god knows where he lives. I needed to go home too 'cause I needed some sleep and I wanted to forget the shit that happened today.

''Hey girl, me and my friends are going to the Bang up .Wanna come.'' said Xavier who interrupted my thoughts. ''Thanks but no thanks need to go home. Xavier whenever you have time can you do a deep background check on Christian Stone?'' I asked her. ''Dang girl ,never thought you would be the stalker but ok.'' he answered .''Thanks and remember no one should know about this''
