What a heartwarming speech!

An: I want to clear this up. Pokemon that have a legacy CANNOT mega evolve. this is final. their mega evolution turns into the legacy transformation. hope this clears some things up!

The figure raised his remaining emaciated arm to the sky. Everyone was puzzled before looking up. But to their absolute horror, a meteor three kilometre's in diameter was already less than a kilometre away from the collective group of machamp's.

There was a weakness to this mode, they could not move very quickly. This was like a formation. even the slightest disturbance would destroy the move. Machamp had never thought that a Pokémon could survive this move. And even if they did, he refused to believe they could still fight back. So, he neglected this aspect.

Rex looked at the meteor in horror, "Fuck"

That was all he could say, the power of this meteor was enough to delete half of Kanto, if not all of it. And it was now about to collide with Machamp.

The 19 Machamp's lifted their heads with grave expressions and raised their arms and pointed towards the middle of the circle. A massive ball of golden light began to form that continued to expand until it was about 20 meters in diameter. Then it shot out like a laser beam and instantly hit the meteor.

The beam was able to penetrate the meteor entirely and caused it to shatter. But then they realised how big of a mistake that was. the smaller but still incredibly deadly rocks were now flying towards Kanto. Rex grimaced immensely.

"GOOOO! EVERYONE STOP THOSE ROCKS!" Rex yelled as he chucked out his pokeball's. Gyarados and Scizor appeared instantly and shot towards the rocks at immense speed. Scizor became a beam of light as he pierced through the rocks with his own body while cutting them into little pieces. Gyarados landed in the ocean and began to move the water. He roared up to the sky as massive black clouds appeared.

Rex observed as Gyarados looked at the falling meteors as if thinking of something before looking at him. Rex knew he was going to try something insane, but he had no choice, who knew something like this would happen? He only gave a nod.

Gyarados nodded as well before roaring again. As if something had shifted, a massive wall of water began to rise on the coast of the region. It was on an unprecedented scale as it continued to rise without stopping before curing over and into the land area itself.

Rex finally understood what was happening, but he couldn't believe what he was seeing. Gyarados was creating an umbrella to protect the coastal cities and towns that were in danger. He then looked at gyarados who was incredibly focused. He then turned to Scizor who was still zigzagging in the air as he shot through one meteor after another.

Victreebel was on Arcanine's back as they rushed to the rocks that were about to land on spots the water couldn't cover because it was too inland. Every single one of his Pokémon were working hard. He then turned his head and saw Machamp undo his Olympus descent in order to help only to be pummelled into the ground continuously by a fully recovered Marshadow. Machamp couldn't catch a break.

Even though Marshadow missed 40% of the time, he threw so many punches it made up for the difference. He had long recovered using some method.

Machamp had no way to counter under the incessant barrage. He was in a cooldown period due to using that move and his limit was starting to come near. Even though he had been able to push his legacy transformation to 4 minutes, it was far from enough.

And Marshadow didn't seem to have an apparent limit at the moment. Rex was starting to get worried, Machamp was someone irreplaceable to him. He couldn't watch any longer and raised his hand to create a barrier made of aura. as it collided with Marshadow's fist it was easily shattered. But it slowed his punch by a fraction of a second allowing Machamp to recover. Marshadow momentarily stopped his barrage and looked up at Rex.

Rex was looking down at him with a slight smile.

"Go on big guy, keep going. Or do you want some of me now?" He taunted. He really didn't care if he came since Machamp would stop all damage from reaching him.

And at this thought, Machamp flashed and arrived behind Rex in an instant. There was a silent stare down going on. Rex's other pokemon had finished taking care of the meteors. The water stopped them in their tracks or at least slowed them down enough to cause no damage. They simply fell creating new hills.

They all gathered beside Machamp as they looked at Marshadow who was now hovering opposite them.

"I don't know what happened, I don't know why you changed so much, but you need to come back to us. All this power is not worth losing you over. And as much as a hate to admit this, we all want the perverted Marshadow back."

Rex spoke slowly and calmly as he stared at the hovering figure radiating unending waves of rage.

All of his Pokémon nodded at his words.

(Don't stop him) Rex said telepathically to the Pokémon behind him. They didn't understand, Machamp realised what he meant and became immensely worried, he didn't know what he would do if Rex's wager didn't pay off. But when he looked at the figure opposite him that looked lost and alone amidst a dark night, he accepted Rex's choice.

Marshadow didn't show a reaction but sped forward, it wasn't as fast as before, all of his Pokémon could have reacted in time, but instead stood still as they all watched his fist fly towards Rex's face. all of them knew that if that attack connected, their spiritual pillar, their reason for being together would go up in smoke.

Rex smiled warmly and stood there unmoving as he saw the attack coming his way.

Just when all of his pokemon were waiting for the worst, the fist froze an inch from his face creating a torrent of air that blew in all directions. Rex looked into Marshadow's golden flame-like eyes as a playful glint flashed through both of their eyes.

"Are you done showing off?" he said to the shock of everyone present.

[HAHAHAHAHAHA! Yeah, I'm done,] Marshadow burst into laughter and nodded before spreading his arms wide. Rex did the same before the two hugged each other. Everyone was stunned speechless.

Why isn't Rex meat paste right now? And if that isn't the case, where is the heartwarming speech that brought Marshadow back from the brink of despair? Where was the motivating words that brought them all closer together? Where was the epic moment? This was a massive scam!

As if something had clicked inside of Machamp's head he burst into a massive rage.

{YOU ARE FUCKING BASTAAAAARDS! YOU PLAYED ME FROM THE BEGINNING!} He bellowed as he pointed towards the duo with shaky fingers as he shrunk. His chest was rising and falling as veins popped on his forehead. Marshadow and Rex hugged each other's shoulders as they stared at Machamp.

"Pretty much. I had contacted Marshadow via telepathy the moment he came out of the rift. I knew immediately that he had achieved the last step in aura. I made this plan up step by step while instructing him. I had to put up an act around you guys though, lest you become suspicious. But I have to give the credit to Marshadow. Most of my reactions were genuine.

Especially the meteor, that was all him. I really did fear for the worst at that point. Luckily it all worked out." He said with an irresponsible smile.

[Mhm-Mhm, this was all a big ploy to see your progress and teamwork. And what better way than to face a poor lost Marshadow who recently acquired power and was using it recklessly?] Marshadow said with a pranksters smile.

All of Rex's Pokémon were shaking with rage, this time it was real, unlike Marshadow's Oscar-winning performance.
