18 Victreebell & Bellsprout the brave

Rex finished saying his goodbye's to Ken and made his way over to where the Bellsprout den was located. he chose Bellsprout because of its decent stats and powder moves. He could have chosen Vileploom but he wanted a fast pokemon and so he ended up with Victreebell. He also wanted to challenge himself for the rock type gym instead of just steamrolling through it with his broken Machop or his fucking outrageous Gyarados.

Rex rode his bike at a high gear to do some exercise and made his way over, on the way he saw Spearow and Pidgey's but didn't feel like they were good enough. sure, Pidgeot was strong but he didn't really need a flying type for his team. He stopped at a lake for lunch and fed his pokemon according to the system's instructions. He soon moved on and came across the Bellsprout den. Well they say Bellsprout den but there were Victreebell's and weepinbell's around as well. he didn't try to hind his presence since the system scanned and got the precise location of all of them and calculated that the best way to get the pokemon of the best potential here was to directly beat the leader and request one of its offspring. Rex was surprised by the idea but agreed since it would save him so much time in searching.

Rex was spotted and soon surrounded by Weepinbell's and Bellsprouts. the reason was simple, he had already reached the entrance of their home. Soon a big Victreebell came out followed by the little Bellsprouts that seemed to be his offspring. next to him was what Rex assumed to be his mate. They gave out a threatening sound attempting to scare off the intruder. rex was not put off by this and smiled without any intent to harm. Pokemon were very sensitive to the emotions of humans and other pokemon so they soon calmed down a bit. Rex seeing this began to talk.

Rex " hello there, my name is Rex and I'm here to challenge you to a battle. The Victreebell was angered immediately as he thought that Rex was here to harm his family. Rex perceived and realised that he needed to explain otherwise he would end up gangbanged.

Rex "relax I'm not here to hurt anyone, I'm here to catch one of your offspring, so I came here to save myself some time and directly challenge you. naturally, there is something in it for you." he said as he pulled out a leaf stone he bought on his way out of Veridian City. The Victreebell was intrigued and automatically knew what that stone was, after all, that was what it used to evolve. The Victreebell was contemplating when it heard Rex's voice again.

Rex "I will also guarantee that I will leave peacefully without catching a single Bellsprout from your family ever." he said, after all, what's more convincing than assuring him of his families safety. The Victreebell didn't have to think long after hearing Rex's words since the results were in his favour. after all, if he lost his offspring would have a strong trainer to follow and if he won he got a leaf stone to evolve one of his family with. It was a win-win scenario, so it nodded in acknowledgement.

Rex grinned at the sight and knew that I had just gotten a strong Bellsprout. Rex took out a Pokeball and got ready for the battle, he waited for the Victreebell to scatter his kin before the battle started. Rex also wanted to make it as flashy as possible so he already had his choice of pokemon ready.

As soon as the battlefield was ready Rex didn't hesitate to throw his Pokeball forward. A massive glow appeared and a 10-meter tall blood-red Gyarados appeared.

ROOOOAAAAAAR!!!!!

A massive roar echoed throw the forest as all the birds were scared shitless and flew away. This was Gyarados's intimidate ability. Rex laughed and marvelled at the sight of Gyarados, he never got tired of seeing this giant of a monster in front of him. Seeing the Gyarados spread made the Victreebell tremble slightly as it leaned back in order to look at the massive beast it was going to face. Rex seeing Victreebell's reaction grinned as he knew his idea worked.

Rex "Gyarados use aqua ring," he said. since there was no water around the place Gyarados would find it hard to move, so by using aqua ring it allowed it to hover about the ground, almost like a mini surf, but better since it also healed. Gyarados nodded and roared again as it created a sphere around him full of water. Victreebell grimaced at the sight as the level of difficulty just rose again. yet before it could move Rex spoke again making Victreebell want to cry.

Rex " Gyarados use rain dance." Victreebell knew it could no longer stay still and had to stop it from launching it or it would be at a bigger disadvantage. Sadly it didn't make it in time with leaf blade as Gyarados used rain dance successfully. The reason he was so fast was because of all the practice with the move, he had gotten more used to it and increased its potency as well. it wasn't a simply rain dance no, no it was more like a strong rain that pelted the ground. Gyarados felt great right now, it would get healed for 1/16th of his hp after every turn and had a 60% increase in water base moves. Victreebell by now was feeling awful but he had the advantage as he was already close and Gyarados didn't even have the time to attack. Sadly it heavily underestimated Gyarados. as the leaf blade hit Gyarados didn't even move, it just hovered there while staring at the Victreebell who had just made contact. Victreebell was aghast as Gyarados didn't even budge, it just sat there and took a leaf blade. The mark it had left on him started to visibly heal at a rapid pace thanks to aqua ring.

Rex by now was trying hard to hold back a giggle as he was so giddy at how OP his pokemon was.

Rex " Gyarados let's return the favour use aqua tail." he said. Gyarados nodded and swung its massive tail like a whip towards Victreebell who had begun to back off, unfortunately, Gyarados's tail was too fast and slapped Victreebell flying 15 meters away. The other Bellsprouts and Weepinbell's were shocked at the power of the Massive pokemon their leader to some father was facing.

Victreebell got up after much effort and began to use synthesis. it started to heal but it's health only increased by one quarter instead of by half since rain dance was active. Victreebell was terrified of the monster in front of him towering above.

Rex didn't hesitate, "Gyarados use hydro pump." Gyarados started to amass obscene amounts of water energy in his mouth before blasting it towards Victreebell at immense speed. Victreebell couldn't do anything except try to dodge, and after much struggle finally managed to successfully evade the attack. Yet it didn't even get to take a breath before he heard Rex again.

Rex "use aqua wheel," he said. this was one of the moves the system had made for Gyarados, it was similar to flame wheel but with water, the difference was that aqua wheel was stronger, it was sharper as well as it was actually just Gyarados using aqua tail while doing cartwheels towards the opponent. Gyarados was excited to try the new move and began to execute it. it started off slow which was its weakness and if someone capitalised on it they could interrupt it before he gained any momentum. Sadly Victreebell didn't know that and was busy shitting its dacks at the massive sharp water wheel coming towards it at increasing speeds. It was too late, everything was too late, Gyarados sped towards Victreebell and smashed it with its incredibly sharp tail due to the increased water pressure around it, almost like a pressurized water cutter. The hit landed devastating the surrounding 10-meter area before Victreebell was seen barely holding on. Gyarados was about to finish it off with a bite before a shadow jumped in front of Victreebell, it was a small Bellsrpout spreading its leaf-like hands trying to block Gyarados from hitting Victreebell again. Victreebell who saw this was mortified as Bellsprout would die if it got him by that monster. Rex was astounded by the bravery and courage of that Bellsprout and quickly told Gyarados to stop and stand down. Rex made his way over to Victreebell and the Bellsprout.

Rex was about to move towards the Victreebell to heal it when it was stopped by the Bellsprout who thought Rex was going to harm his father. Rex looked over Bellsprouts shoulder and looked at Victreebell.

Rex " I take it as your loss then?" he asked confidently. Victreebell could only nod since he didn't want his child to get hurt. Bellsprout was furious and used Giga drain in Gyarados. Rex forgot to think for a second before he came back to himself, Gyarados didn't even feel it as his defence and sp. def was too high right now and Bellsprout as a first stage pokemon was simply trash before it evolved. But Rex wasn't surprised at that, what he was surprised at was the move it just used, Giga drain was a powerful grass type move, and for it to have it meant that it had to be an egg move. Rex was starting to get excited, but calmed down and looked towards the Victreebell again.

Rex "as for our promise, I hope you will be keeping your end of it," he said looking at him seriously. Victreebell nodded and signalled for his kin to come closer so that Rex can choose. Rex didn't even need to look at any of the other ones in front of him as he immediately walked towards the brave Bellsprout and crouched to his level so that he doesn't seem so intimidating.

Rex "hello little guy, me and your dad made a deal and now I get to choose one of you. you impressed me with your bravery and strength and I was wondering if you would like to join my family and become just as strong as that fella back there" he said with a kind smile as he pointed towards Gyarados. Gyarados almost as if on cue roared so loudly it almost made the ground shake.

Bellsprout was already awed by the power Gyarados demonstrated in the battle against his dad, and now getting to face the full brunt of that monster's roar really made it shiver. It looked back towards the trainer who was able to train such a beast and started to get excited. Rex seeing this began to smile and asked once more while taking out a Pokeball and placing it in front of Bellsprout.

Rex "would you like to join me on my journey? he said kindly.

Bellsprout nodded enthusiastically and walked towards the Pokeball and pressed the button. It immediately got sucked into the ball and didn't put up a fight at all.

*Ding *Ding *Ding *Pak

Rex picked up the Pokeball and threw it onto the ground. from it, Bellsprout once again emerged and climbed into Rex's shoulder before sitting down. Rex smiled and said his goodbye's to the family with Bellsprout, recalled the massive Gyarados and walked towards the scyther den where his next team member hid.
