A lively, youthful vibe was exerted by Rex as a new kind of smile sprouted on his young face. the smile of a budding life, full of promise and vigour. He didn't have that wise air around him, but an energetic one that was eager to explore the world he had been thrust into. It was odd to think about since there was probably many complex things that were done to make this work, but Rex was unaware of it. His past self had given his new self the greatest gift of all. A new beginning.

As he finished pushing to door open, he saw a surprised Blaine on the bed.

"What's wrong? Something on my face?" asked Rex with a puzzled look.

"I don't know how to put it; you just seem different. You're giving me a completely different vibe from the wise yet easily overconfident old man feel you had when we battled. You seem livelier..." Bline said but paused and shook his head.

"That makes no sense, better keep my mouth shut before these nurses send me to the psych ward." He said with a chuckle. Rex looked at him in confusion, he had no idea what was going on, but decided to ignore it. Ramblings of an old man, that was what he amounted it to.

"Anyway, I came to see how you were doing, I also wanted to pick up the badge," Rex said. Blaine raised an eyebrow.

"In that order? Or coming here to get the badge and visiting me was only a coincidental bi-product?" he asked suspiciously.

"I'm offended Blaine, that you would think so poorly of me. Naturally, it's the former thank you very much," he said with a cheeky smile. Blaine only sighed and nodded before reaching over to his coat which had a badge case in it. Inside there were 8 badges that looked the same. He picked one out and handed it to Rex.

"there you go. By the way, how is Ninetails? He took a severe beating from that laser beam of an attack you hit him with," he said half reproachfully. Rex scratched the side of his cheek with an awkward smile.

"he is fine, Nurse Joy said you can pick him up when you next stop by." he informed. They spent the next 30 minutes talking. Blaine asked about Arcanine and Rex told him he didn't have a clue. He must stay consistent at all times. Blaine nodded; he was slightly disappointed but there was nothing that could be done about it.

"Where are you heading next?" Blaine asked.

"I'll be heading to Saffron city and facing the gym there before heading to Celadon city and taking on the gym there. I think it's about time I finish them all soon." He said with a shrug. blaine smiled and nodded.

"With the Pokémon you have shown, it should be easy. That saffron city gym leader is a little girl. She is powerful but it's simply due to raw physic power. Celadon will be a bit tougher but again with your Arcanine, it would be a miracle if she can even touch you. So have a good time. I would say though, Koga will put up a good fight. Make sure to have a steel type or two in your possession." He warned.

Rex was surprised that Blaine would give out so much information, but he was grateful for it. As he walked out of his room he headed to the reception and proceeded to pay for his hospital fee. It was only right since he was the reason he had the heatstroke in the first place. He soon booked a ticket on the cruise back to Vermillion city and then head north to saffron. Marshadow needed an opponent and alakazam was good enough. A glass canon with no physical defence. Marshadow was the perfect counter to it. The next day soon rolled by and he boarded the cruise ship. He wore a grey three-piece suit that hugged his well-defined body. He had a wide smile as he headed to the upper deck to watch the wailmers that were swimming beside the boat. He pulled out his phone took a picture and sent it to Elesa before walking to his room.

Elesa who was sifting through the debris where a mansion used to be soon got a message on her phone. She got up from her crouching position and pulled her phone out to see what it was. When she saw that it was from Rex, she unconsciously began to smile. When she saw the wailmers she giggled before taking a snapshot of her and the crater full of broken and charred scrap. She sent the caption,

Rex who was eating grapes while listening to classical music opened his phone when he saw that Elesa messaged him back. He smiled at the first part while putting a grape in his mouth before choking on it when he saw the second half of the message and the picture attached.

"Fuck! Hope she doesn't find any clues. System what are the chances of this leading back to me." He asked quickly.

"Phew, that's great, this woman almost gave me a heart attack. but damn she's so hot. System is there any part of her face that meets the golden ratio from earth?" he asked.
