AN: Three chapters today again. Aren't I great? Lol enjoy!

"Friends," Rex echoed with a sincere smile. He honestly wanted Mewtwo to see the wonders this world had to offer, he had only seen the horrors, the underbelly of society and the cruel nature of humans. But it is never so one-dimensional, and one cannot build up a perspective based on only one side of the story.

Mewtwo was deeply conflicted, he hated humans for their terrible nature, but looking at the man before him and the trust his pokemon had for him even when they could wipe regions off a map was startling to him.

He realised at that moment how flawed his view was on this world. Like the message on the screen said, he had been blinded, unable to perceive the light even when it was right in front of him.

How many trainers had he faced in Giovanni's gym? Why didn't he pay attention to how they treated their Pokémon? No, he was tunnel-visioned on only focusing on the negative actions that humans did to further prove his argument.

When he looked back and reviewed his memories he found that his actions were heavy-handed, often heavily injuring his opponent's pokemon due to his anger. But why didn't he see the stream of tears flowing down the cheek of an innocent and lively youth full of vigour and hope? Why didn't he see the anguish and sorrow in those children's eyes as they ran out of the gym, sprinting towards the Pokémon centre for fear that their companions would die?

He realised in this moment, that on his path to stop the cruel nature of humans, he had ended up unconsciously performing the same acts they did.

And that revelation horrified him!

He grabbed his head tightly, anguish flowing through him as the pent-up emotions finally burst out after being repressed for so long.

Yet a gentle hand made its way to his head, softly caressing him. As he lifted it slowly, he saw the kind eyes of Rex accompanied by his Pokémon who had changed back to their normal forms.

"You are not alone. You may feel like you have done something wrong, but we are only products of our environment after all. you were surrounded by cruelty, so you did the same, even if you were oblivious to it.

You are not alone anymore, let it all out. We are here to catch you when you fall. Isn't that what friends are for?" Rex said half whispering as a way to better convey the gentleness of his intentions.

{Well, I won't be catching shit, I'm too busy to be your nanny-}

BAM!

Machamp slapped the back of Mordred's head with a frown on his face.

>Time and place idiot!< he chided.

They began to bicker which caused everyone to laugh.

Mewtwo chuckled slightly as he wiped away the two stray tears that fell down his cheek. His laugh cut the two's bickering as everyone focused back on him.

(I am willing to join your team.) he said slowly, he seemed to struggle to say those words. Rex knew that his deep-seated mistrust for humanity would take a while to change. But it would be made easier the more he experienced the world.

Rex pulled out a customised Pokeball. It was violet-coloured Amethyst that was split into three parts. A crack down the middle that was cut off by the horizontal crack that run along the entire circumference of the ball. Mewtwo could see his reflection in it. He was very satisfied. But when he heard of the many functions it had, he was stunned speechless. The power of technology was astounding to him.

Mewtwo's face softened and gave one last look at Rex before tapping the button on the ball which instantly sucked him inside.

The ball shook gently three times before a ding was heard.

Rex clutched the ball tightly as a slight smile made its way onto his face. His final member had been caught. His team was finally complete.

He threw the ball out and with a small bang and Mewtwo appeared again.

The latter looked at his hands before turning to Rex in astonishment. The living space within the Pokeball was perfect. It even enhanced his sensitivity to psychic energy which could make him stronger quicker.

(What are you planning on doing now?) he asked.

Rex looked around and smiled slightly.

"I guess I can give you a small demonstration." He said mysteriously. Mewtwo was puzzled but also curious.

Rex returned all of his other Pokémon to their balls except for Mordred and Machamp.

He had Mewtwo levitate them 2 kilometres away from the island. Machamp was left behind, much to the psychic Pokémon's confusion.

A blinding light suddenly caught his attention just as they stopped, yet before he could discern what was happening the island was engulfed in a ball of white and disappeared instantly. Not even a speck of dust was left behind.

There was no explosion, nothing, only the perpetual salty ocean breeze brushing over their faces.

BOOM!

Yet this soft breeze turned into a hurricane as a towering 50-meter tall Pokémon appeared as if it had teleported before returning to Rex's Pokeball.

Mewtwo was speechless, his gaze constantly switching between the Pokeball in Rex's hand and the empty space where the several-kilometre-wide island used to be.

(Tha-that was… That was Machamp?) he asked with an incredulous expression on his face. an involuntary shiver made his whole body twitch.

"Well, no evidence should be left behind. Think of it as a new beginning. From here on out, you are a new being, free to make the choices you want." Rex said calmly as if he didn't just witness an island disappear.

Mewtwo massaged his forehead.

'What have I gotten myself into?'
