Ken's beatdown

Rex "sure I don't see why not Ken let's do it," he said before pulling out machop's Pokeball.

Ken nodded and also pulled out a Pokeball containing his ace pokemon

Ken " This will be a one on one pokemon battle, the winner is the trainer with the pokemon left standing, do you accept the rules?" he asked

Rex nodded as a sign of confirmation before walking a good 20 meters away to have a good amount of room for the battle.

Ken and Rex threw their Pokeball's out at the same time revealing Scyther and Machop respectively.

Rex "well lucky you huh, type advantage is good you'll need it," he said confidently with a smirk.

Ken "luck is part of strength you can only blame your lack of it, and as for me needing it, we'll see about that." he said equally as confident.

Rex could only commend the poor chap for his naive bravery but he didn't know how much of a monster Machop was so he couldn't be blamed.

Rex" Machop we're making this quick since we still have training later." machop hearing that they had training later felt a rush of excitement, this was due to the increase in power he had seen recently as well as his height far exceeding his peers. He didn't want to waste time as training time was as precious as its life.

Rex "machop use thunder punch," he said calmly as he observed the scyther in front of him.

Ken didn't just sit still either. "scyther use double team and then focus energy." scyther didn't sit still and began to create life-like images of itself that began to love in a circle around machop constantly keeping their distance. soon he began to focus on channelling energy. Rex seeing this smirked.

Rex "machop use bulk up continuously." he said

Rex 'if you're going to buff yourself then so will I, after all, you'll have to come to me.' he thought while releasing a soft chuckle. Ken knew this as well as Rex had just counter him, sure scyther was increasing his critical hit ratio, but what would happen if he didn't land a crit? he would be caught out of position and completely decimated. Ken quickly made his choice.

Ken " scyther use slash on machop," he said hurriedly. By now Machop had grown by 0.2 meters and was a lot more muscular as well, he was brimming with energy as he was now up two stages in attack and defence. Rex was very relaxed and so was Machop as they saw a speeding scyther coming towards him.

Rex " Ha! it doesn't matter what you do if you can't even touch me," he said, which confused Ken a bit. before he could think of anything he heard Rex again.

Rex " machop use burn at full power with a fire punch" he ordered. Machop didn't hesitate and began to use created sparks on his fists, soon these sparks became a small flame that covered his fists before coming bigger and wilder as they went from a dark red, orange, yellow and finally settling on a bright green with a very very small amount of blue. The two fists were now raging across the arms of machop as he stood there like a god waiting for Scyther to make his attempt.

Ken didn't have time to react and order scyther to stop as he felt the massive amount of heat that took his breath away. Scyther sped towards the Machop before becoming slower the closer he got, the heat around him increase by folds the closer he got and finally he stopped just out of arms reach. Machop smirked, he already knew the outcome, his manipulation of energy had increased recently, and even though he didn't know it was influenced by the system, he was happy nonetheless. Rex was also not surprised as he and the system had been co-training machop to his current peak.

Rex "let's end this Machop, use fire punch." Machop was already close to Scyther as it was and the heat interfered with scyther's ability to move fast, and so with no surprise, Scyther was sent shooting out by the punch and smashed into the first tree he hit. Ken saw this and was completely shocked and in disbelief, Ken had never seen such hot flames even from a fire type pokemon and here he saw it come from a god damn fighting type. Ken looked over towards his Scyther only to see it completely knocked out. One punch was all it took.

Rex ' maybe I should call him one punch man?' he thought before laughing in his mind. he walked up to Ken and extended his hand. Ken had just returned Scyther to his Pokeball when he saw Rex approach.

Rex " it was a good match," he said lightly with a smile.

Ken " It was a beatdown, but a good fight thank you for widening my horizons." he said genuinely appreciatively.

Rex " don't sweat it, it's just that my Machop is a freak nothing more," he said before getting punched on the ribs by Machop who had overheard what he said. " hahaha sorry buddy," Rex said as he patted Machop's head.

Ken was surprised by Rex's connection with his pokemon but before he could say anything he heard Rex's sudden question.

Rex " by chance would you happen to know where strong wild Scyther's and Bellsprouts are located," he asked ken.

Ken nodded and began to tell Rex about the location of a Scyther den and a Bellsrout den. coincidentally the Bellsprout den was on the way to the scyther den so he now had his goals set.

AN: don't hate on Bellsprout. I know he's shit but Victreebell is good and I don't want to use Venasaur, and since I really don't have a much better choice I chose Victreebell. as for scyther? well, Scizor and Mega Scizor are strong picks so they speak for themselves.
