197 Gyarados the slushy maker
AN: sorry for not posting yesterday, I had to arrange my shit for my placement, I'm teaching for the first time tomorrow! Fun stuff! so here are two chapters.

red light consumed Gyarados as he was returned to his Pokeball for rest. He was drained and injured, his Pokeball would help him quickly recover. Gaia was also monitoring his vitals in case any signs of abnormalities appeared.
Everyone else stood there, gobsmacked as they blankly stared at the ground where Gyarados used to be.
In sync, they all raised their heads to the sky, as if they could still see the monster seemingly capable of swallowing the sky whole, rending the earth and shattering their souls before scattering them with a mere glance.
They all shivered uncontrollably as they remembered the wave of fear rising to their throats, the tightening of their chests, jelly-like legs and the sweat trickling down their chins.
"What—was that?"
"I… don't have the faintest clue…"
"That can't be a Pokémon right? HA! What a joke, if that's a Pokémon I might as well go back and hang myself from the dormitory ceiling fan. What a joke, that's no Pokémon, that's an alien. Gyarados my ass!"
One of the grunts was mumbling and chuckling in a crazed fashion, their faces betraying the disbelief they felt.
The commanders looked at each other, they too were shocked and fearful, yes because of the monster Gyarados had turned into, but more importantly, the small figure who slapped the living daylight out of it. they all turned to Rex, their gazes changing from respect to idolisation.
Giovanni grabbed his shaky left hand with his right, his eyes quivering slightly as he looked at the sky where Gyarados used to float, hundreds of meters long, like a giant cloud of doom looming over them like a bad dream.
"This world was able to hide such a secret from humans… and here you are Rex, capable of taming such monsters… Haaah… what will this world become in the future under your light? I wonder…" he mumbled inaudibly to himself, his eyes transfixed on the ramrod-straight back of the man who he truly thought would usher in a new era for humans and Pokémon, transcending all previous boundaries and creating a new world.

It took a short while for everyone to fully recover from what they had just seen. they would have a lot to talk about in the coming days, entertaining their otherwise terrifyingly boring and torturous days filled with only training and... more training. They felt like crying whenever they thought about it.
Rex was now sitting behind his desk in his office, reading the results compiled by Gaia on their earlier experiment.

[Dreadcold, all water-type attacks directed at or made by Gyarados can be frozen before erupting into ice shards that do super effective to types that don't resist it and deals normal damage to those that do, effectively giving it a plus 50% offence boost. Gyarados is unaffected by the ability. Gyarados can choose if he wants to use this part of his ability on his moves or not and when to do it. Additionally, he can now control water in gas and liquid states to shape anything he wants. Raindance and haze can become lethal if used correctly.
Finally, the ice Gyarados produces instantly immobilises the opponent for a certain amount of time depending on typing and level of strength. Fighting, rock and steel will be able to easily break out, additional condition is set though, in order to attempt freeing themselves, they must be as strong as Gyarados. Fire is not included due to the special attribute within the never melt ice.] Gaia explained.
Rex nodded slightly, this was a rather monstrous ability when he thought about it. Gyarados was clearly a pokemon who dealt tremendous AOE damage in a massive radius making it impossible to dodge once inside. furthermore, if he used blizzard and rain dance, not only would visibility drop to almost zero, but you are most likely permanently frozen the moment the ice touches you. He couldn't even begin to imagine what the upgraded version would be when he unlocked his full legacy.
Finalizing his thoughts on the matter, he raised his head towards the television that was currently playing a live stream he had been anticipating very much.
