All according to plan

Rex looked at the crater in the rock where Machoke laid with no emotion on his face, it was like it was unrelated to him. All that was heard was his words that didn't fit the result.

Rex "Warm up done?"

Machoke who was originally lodged in the boulder exploded out smashing the stone in the process. Steam came out of his cuts as his feet cracked the earth. His purple eyes glowed even more intensely as he sported the most twisted grin possible, it was comparable to the Cheshire cat's.

An intense aura exploded out of him and intensified with each step he took. Rex smiled like a maniac, this! This is the reason I didn't stop him, second stage of Aura! Rex laughed loudly as he stared at his own hands. The same aura was coming off of him.

Rex 'system why did I rank up?' he asked.

[the system designed the training so that both of you can level up at the same time. When you first began training Aura the system created a way to achieve a sort of Aura Link between the both of you. It is so that if one of you reaches the next level before the other, the one that has achieved then next level will boost the energy level and experience of the other via aura link.] it said mechanically.

Rex nodded in sudden understanding. He was now able to direct the power of aura all around his body in which ever way his so wished. Which boosted his strength massively. He could only imagine what it would have done to Machoke.

The reason for letting Machoke take the hit was because he was stuck at a bottleneck and a massive amount of foreign energy was required in order to push him over. Rex could have done it with his other Pokémon, but Machoke being the battle maniac that he was didn't accept that way of doing it. He wanted to do it in a battle.

Machoke stopped when he reached the same spot where he originally stood. The cuts had become scars which would fade away with rest but for now it made him that much more menacing.

The commander's face was black with shock. He didn't expect a full power solar beam to fail at knocking out the Machoke. He seemed to have only taken away about half its health.

Rex "you should be proud of yourself, you are the second to hurt my Machoke this much," he said with a grin. The commander burst a vein when he heard that.

Commander "Venasaur use solar beam again!" he shouted hysterically. There was no way Machoke would live another one… or so he thought. And he would be right except last time Rex purposefully let it hit him, there was a difference.

Rex "Machoke lets test out our aura, use power-up punch," he said punching forward. Machoke started to walk forward before getting into a job and soon he was running at full speed right towards Venasaur who was charging up another solar beam at a fast pace.

Venasaur finally charged it up completely and launched it forward. Machoke seeing the incoming solar beam dived downwards causing it to barely miss as he slid under it. He didn't come out unscathed as his back was charred.

Machoke pushed upwards with his arms and stood upright again before bursting forward and arriving right next to Venasaur. Machoke didn't give Venasaur any time to react and smashed his fist squarely on Venasaur's face burying it in the ground. The ground shook intensely from the hit and spiderweb like cracks spread in all direction from where Venasaur was half buried.

Machoke jumped away out of habit to avoid any sudden attack's and lucky he did as a green ball of energy formed on its back before landing where Machoke last stood. Venasaur crawled out of the ground with dirt all over its face. It was severely hurt but managed to get up and back away.

Rex was shocked at the defence of Venasaur, after all it took a full hit from Machoke using aura. The commander was shocked at the amount of damage Machoke did to Venasaur after all he was a rare Venasaur that had much higher defence then usual.

Rex "you can't be a simple commander at team rocket. I have battled against one before and they were much weaker than you," he said truthfully and full of curiosity.

Commander "you are correct, I have been selected as the next admin for team rocket, and this was my mission, but you have ruined it so I have to beat you and give your Pokémon to the boss so that I can keep my chance," he said grimly.

Rex "I see! That's why you battled, whatever the reason I'm glad I came, or I would have missed such a good fight," he said with a chuckle.

Commander "arrogant kid" he spat. Rex only shrugged; it cannot be called arrogance when said by the strong. Arrogance is those who boast without the power to back themselves. Not wanting to waste time with philosophy he commanded.

Rex "Machoke use bulk up and bullet punch," he said quickly. Machoke's already bulky body grew again, and his right fist became shiny and grey in colour. He rushed forward at a much faster pace then before which caught the commander off guard.

Commander "use Protect!" he said extending his hand outwards. A round bubble appeared around Venasaur. Machoke who was at top speed made contact with the shield producing a screeching sound like metal against metal. The sudden sound of glass cracking could be heard before Protect was broke through. The attack made contact which sent Venasaur blasting backwards before smashing back into the ground.

Venasaur had incredible difficulty getting up but by some miracle managed it. The commander was shocked at the result, he thought about it before something hit him, no guard. He looked at Machoke with helplessness.
