A forgotten history part 1

Opening the gate, the voice boomed out again.

{Congratulations to the contestant at the south gate. They are the first to progress and one step closer to getting the final prize. Better not dawdle little ones.} the voice said before fading slowly.

Gengar and Greninja both grinned at the voice's words. They had to stop playing around or they would lose.

Gengar focused back on the opponent.

[time to end this, void… SHATTER!] he yelled. Instantly, the sound of something cracking could be heard, and a black hole appeared in the space between the two. As if reality had been shattered. The shadow couldn't do anything and was instantly devoured by the void in space. Gengar laughed mockingly and sealed the space again.

The cracks in mid-air were slowly repaired and he progressed forward and pushed the door open.

In another location, a black frog stood quietly observing its opponent with emotionless eyes.

(Tamashī no shuriken!)

He shot his palm forwards above him into the air as an enormous shuriken made of ghost energy appeared instantly. It continued to grow in size until it was 20 meters wide.

BOOOOM!

The shuriken began to spin so fast it shattered the air instantly and everything was turned to dust. Greninja threw it forward and the shuriken shot forward like a bullet. It cut straight through the shadow and right through the wall before creating a massive gash through the entire city breaking through the other side and continuing into the infinite distance.

(Hnn!) he grinned and put down his smoking left hand. He pulled up his scarf like tongue and ran into the city like a shadow.

All three ventured into the city where destroyed buildings of all sizes could be seen. Marshadow, unlike the other two who didn't recognise the place, did, and as he looked at the place he once called home, flashes of hate flickered through his eye like flames.

A long, long time ago, this world was once prosperous. A perfect land for all Pokémon. Not just ghost types. This was originally a gateway to another world. An extension of earth created by Acreus as the last arch in case anything happened, and Pokémon were on the brink of extinction. When all hope was lost, this place would act as the last defence.

No humans could ever enter due to the seal placed on the dimension. And it was due to this that Pokémon were able to come back from the extinction-level event that resulted in the death of many ancient Pokémon species. The ones that survived, rushed here and mutated over the years.

But not in a good way. Due to the lack of resources only meant to keep them alive, they degenerated into less powerful versions currently seen today. His species, the doom walkers as they used to call it, were originally the guardians of the dimensions. And as such, were seen as pseudo royalty. But they also experienced a decline due to a lack of resources.

And eventually lost the status that they cherished so very much. So, they began a war, a war for the resources of others. Something that should never happen in such dire circumstances. But it did. And that war devastated the land and killed millions of different species that would never resurface on earth ever again.

After all, this place was not always sand and dust. It was once a vast infinite plain of grass, mountains, jungles, oceans, enough to save Pokémon from extinction. With this war, total chaos ensued, stretching over a century. A century of bloodshed.

When both sides had exhausted their numbers, they sent out their best warriors to settle the score once and for all. Hundreds of different races sent their strongest champion against the doom walkers. And in return, the latter sent out their two champions. A pair of brothers.

The strongest, the entire race had poured all of their remaining resources to nurture them into the strongest existences. the youngest was so physically strong that he shattered the earth with his fists alone. one punch was all it took to explode the body of any champion regardless of species.

the oldest was fast beyond belief, going hundreds of times beyond the speed of sound. all it took was a passing punch to decapitate an opponent. The two monsters waged war like hungry demons from hell.

The battle was so intense, that the dimension began to crumble under their collisions.

Rivers of blood and a mountain of corpses began to pile up under the feet of the two brothers. But due to their actions the Pokémon race, suffered an inevitable doom. Extinction was inevitable.

And that was precisely when the god descended from its domain. Its pressure was something Marshadow could still remember. The feeling of life and death not being in your hands anymore.

He would never forget the eyes of that being, the eyes of a god. It could not be challenged; everything was forced to bow before its existence. Even the mighty doom walkers.

That… was the power of Arceus.

"You disgust me," it said. Its voice so penetrating that every Pokémon felt the words hit their very souls.

"This is what you do even when on the brink of death. This cannot continue. As my children, I cannot allow this to continue. bunch of ignorant fools. all my hard work was destroyed due to your petty squabbles."

*Sigh*

it then looked at the mountain of dead champions of different species.

"You have all shed enough blood. I will bring your champions back to life. And send you back to earth. I have forced the humans to forget. They will never cause another extinction-level event ever again.

I will bestow knowledge on your champions, they will lead your races to a new future. They will inherit some of my power. the percentage they receive will be random. Some might receive a massive portion; some will receive something so small it's pretty much non-existent. It will all depend on your luck. This is the compensation each species will receive. The opportunity to reach the top… if lucky.

I will create new children to maintain a new balance.

KYOGRE! GOD OF THE SEVEN SEAS! RISE!" it yelled

BOOOOOOOM!

The world seemed to shake and rumble as a new life shot out of the water. 30 meters wide. It was blue with red lines. Above its head, an omega stone.

"This will be your omega stone. With it, you will be able to create new seas, providing new areas for sea life.

Next!

GROUDON! GOD OF THE SEVEN LANDS! RISE!" It yelled again.

BOOOOOOM!

The ground split open as the core was revealed. From the middle, a hand shot out followed by the glowing hot red body of Groudon. It climbed to the surface standing tall at 35 meters. Above its head, a red omega stone contrasting to Kyogre's blue one.

"Same thing applies, you will create new, fertile lands for Pokémon and people to live in. you two will restrain each other and provide a balance to the world."

Its words created an instant rivalry between the two newborn titans. Arceus ignored it.

"And finally.

RAYQUAZA GOD OF THE SKY! DESCEND!"

ROOOOOOAAAAAAAAR! BOOOOOOOM!

The sky shattered and a massive hole appeared, from within the black abyss, a shiny black Rayquaza appeared in its mega form.

"You will maintain the balance when either one attains an overwhelming advantage over the other. You three will maintain the order of this world and stop anything from ruining it. no matter the cost.

I will also place other powerful creations in every region. The amount of power they have will vary on the region's strength.

As for the doom walkers, you will also receive a legacy, but you will be punished by confinement in this decaying world for millennia. Once that time is up, you will be free to go outside again. But! Only one of you will be allowed. The rest will be destined to die in this place for your atrocious crimes. You are no longer needed as part of my great creation."

BOOOM!

His words shattered the growing hope of all the doom walkers. They fell into endless despair. The youngest brother was so distraught and pained that his memories were sealed to preserve the health of his mind from declining anymore. The older brother was so angry that he cursed at Acreus swearing to take revenge.

The God did not even listen and disappeared with all the other Pokémon living in the secret dimension leaving only the crying wails of the doom walkers, destined to die alone and forgotten for their crimes against the Pokémon race.
